RATING: 3.5 stars

I’ll Be Damned is book one in the Anna Wolfe series by Casey Keen. I enjoyed the book although I was a bit frustrated at times with Anna. The plot was good and held my interest and I really enjoyed all the secondary characters and the potential love interests. The reason for the slightly lower rating is just that it was a bit detail heavy. There was too much description of inconsequential things that frustrated me at times. I loved that the story takes place in Savannah, Geo
★★★★I'll Be Damned by Casey Keen (Anna Wolfe Series book 1)

I was given this book in exchange for my honest review, so here goes.

While I liked the first 6 chapters, they were incredibly slow. We learn a lot of details, the who's, what's, and when's, but not the why's. This was slightly frustrating, because, I wanted to know. Starting late chapter 6, early chapter 7, we really get into the story. It became fast paced, and I found myself not wanting to put the book down. I was sad to see the book

I'll be Damned is a paranormal, urban fantasy that stars Anna, a coffee shop owner. She knows that she has always been different from others, but has kept her secret hidden for years. Anna's sister, Janie, is kidnapped by a demon. Valen, a hundred plus year old werewolf, finds himself in Deja Brew. He doesn't make his presence known and he doesn't introduce himself right away to Anna. Anna soon finds out about Valen, and about the secret powers she has always had.

This is the first book in the Anna Wolfe Series by Casey Keen. I received it during a book tour and said that I would give an honest review. However, being totally honest, I had a lot of problems with this book. To be fair to the author and the book tour, I waited until the tour was over to post this review.

The book opens on the lead character, Anna Wolfe in the middle of a nightmare. One she has almost every night. She describes an unholy landscape filled with rivers of lava, jagged mountains a

An Exciting and Absorbing Plot

I’ll Be Damned is the first in a series of three and well worth a read. The protagonist, Anna Wolfe has a feisty character and has for a long time know that she is different. We have all felt awkward about ourselves as young adults and it is a dream come true, if you doubt yourself and gorgeous men are interested in you. Anna’s relationships with Valen, a werewolf and Roman, a warlock, certainly get your heart racing and the writing absorbs you.

Casey spun a great yarn about Anna, her friends and a bunch of super-naturals that all want something from her. Casey's great writing style kept me on the edge of my seat. Dang that Anna, I kept wanting to grab her by the shoulders and shake her and tell her things like "Don't go running in the woods alone, you stupid girl". Anna has a gift for getting herself in near death situations. The book ended with Anna in a very bad way (No spoiler here). I'm waiting on pins and needles for the next inst ...more

Mon avis en Français

My English review

When I read the synopsis and that I saw a story featuring a witch who does not know who she is, as well as the presence of some demons, I knew I had to read it! Yet perhaps I expected a little too much, because even if the story is interesting, there are some points to note.

Anna is a young woman like any other who lives in Savannah since her boyfriend broke up with her. Now she has to take care of her sister’s marriage, a girl who seems to be interested only

As you can see, this book didn't quite do it for me. I'll Be Damned had great promise but it struggled to come together. One of the biggest issues I had was the pacing. I've read many books that have slow starts but start to pick up about a quarter of the ways in. That, I can live with but this book was simply too slow for me. Unfortunate

Great Story! I really enjoyed this book; Casey Keen does a great job on her debut novel.
I can absolutely relate to Anna, I have two sisters as well and boy what a pain that can be sometimes, lol, and I've always wanted to visit or live in Savannah.
Anna is leading what she thinks is a totally normal life, until a few mysterious men walk into her life. Valen tries to introduce her to her new world as easily as he can, but with the kidnappin

Close to her 30th birthday, Anne keeps noticing strange things happening. Chalking it up to being paranoid with no proof to tell the cops Anne doesn't take her situation seriously. It wasn't until her sister Janie disappears and a man claims to be her protector. Anne not sure what to believe any more. All Anne knows is that in order to save her sister she must suck it up and learn what she can to get her sister back.

I’ll Be Damned is a book by author Casey Keen that takes place in Savannah, Georgia and focuses on a woman named Anna Wolfe. Anna owns a coffeehouse named Déjà Brew located in an old converted Victorian house, which she runs with the help of her best friend, Kristy. But Anna has always known there was something different about her. When she was a child sometimes people who were mean to her would have odd things happen t

I’ll Be Damned by Casey Keen

Anna Wolfe is a twenty-nine-year-old, who has led a sheltered life and has no idea who she really is. Having suffered from nightmares her whole life, which she never bothered to investigate, seek guidance, or advice for, Anna has become a master at pushing things aside to deal with them later. Avoidance seems to be her motto, as it is repeated endlessly through the story. “I need to talk you in person, not over the phone… I’ll give you the details later.” “I can’t wai

How would you feel if you found out that everything you thought your life was, wasn't? That's what happens to Anna Wolfe in I'll Be Damed, Book 1 of the Anna Wolfe Series. Anna runs a coffee shop in Savannah, GA called Deja Brew and thinks her life is fairly ordinary, until she's hit with pretty staggering news: she's a witch. And not just any witch, but a really, really powerful one. With that knowledge, her entire world is turned upside-down as she learns that not everything is as it seems, an ...more

Anna Wolfe is just trying to get over her ex and the fact that he dumped her for a younger version. So far things are going alright. Her coffee shop Dejavu Brew is doing fine, she has two awesome friends, one awesome sister and of course the sister that came from hell. But fine was covering her life, well until she starts getting weird text messages and some weirdo starts following her around.

Her friend Kristy introduce her to a guy, but immediately Anna feels something is way off with this g

What can I say? I hate giving less than favourable reviews and this is a mixed bag of pluses & minuses. On the plus side the author has a good story, the idea behind it is good and I liked what world our main character was being brought into, her hidden background, what that means for her and the people that would use it for their benefit. On the minus side the pacing was terrible -for me- the author tends to be overly descriptive, writing every little detail - seriously, one morning scene of

***This book was given to me by the Author and Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock for a honest revies***

This book was a good read. It is a paranormal light romance that has great characters, a good plot, and a cliffhanger. It has a confusing start that I believed to be a little jumbled and some parts seem out of place as an intro to a book. After that it has a good flow to its story. This book kept me guessing and on edge about what will happen next. It is definitely not a book that can be

I was drawn in by the cutesy cover. Unfortunately, the book doesn’t seem to fit the cover. The summary is more accurate than the cover, but even that doesn’t cover everything.

There is just so much going on in this book. It’s a case of too many ideas shoved into one story. This makes it clunky and disjointed, with some parts being skimmed over, and others having too much detail, without there being an overall smooth flow.

The part that had the most promise, and was the most disappointing, was Anna

Very interesting read.. a little slow in the beginning but soon Ms. Anna shows that although almost 30 she is stubbbborn! Anna has a coffee shop... seems more like a recluse but does have a few friends, as any girl probably has gone through, she's had a bad relationship. She throws herself into work. Strange things begin to happen as her 30th birthday gets closer, her one sister Cara seems to be acting like a spoiled twit, and her other sister Janie all of sudden wants to hang with her for a bit ...more

This book was slow at the beginning until chapter 7, where I couldn't put it down. Then I reached chapter 9, I was stuck and mindlessly flipping each page to fill the desire to continue into this world Ms. Keen has so unselfishly created. Honestly, though it started out slow building at a sluggish tempo but once it got there and it felt like your cravings were being serviced it stops. I REALLY LIKED this book.

**Honest review for a free read***

This is my kind of book. Its mixed the creatures of heaven and hell, hot werewolves, psychics, sexy warlocks, and a smoky shadowalker with a little romance. Anna finds out she is a Grand Witch and goes on to learn and train her powers before her 30th b-day while fighting close encounters with the Prince of Darkness. I wished there was more romance involved but the book was loaded with action!! Keen did a very good job of describing scene

As I read the last chapter, I realized 2 things...
1st-I am completely hooked
2nd- I am surprised that I was hooked
Great story, it was a bit slow to start off, but I have read many books that you just know the first 3 chapters are always that way. I'm a romance girl, so I was hoping for a bit more in that department, so hopefully book 2 will have something for me, my vote is for Valen.

A new twist on the Netherworld and the rival between a love triangle. A bit short for my taste but am interested in finding out how this concludes. I do like the rivalry between the werewolf and male witch for Anna's affections and how so many characters are involved in the main story.

Well... damn it. Yet again, I'm given a fantastic book to read, only to have it end without the second one being readily available for my consumption.

Seriously, I loved this book! For those of you who love the Sookie Stackhouse series, you'll love this! It's not similar enough to think that she's copying off of Charlaine Harris, though it is told from a first person POV, takes place in the South, it's quick-witted, funny and fun... And there's a gay, black man as a best friend who screams "Lafay
