To achieve the proper HTML coding, please use the following code(s):
(Be sure to remove the * from the <*> when you copy the code!!

NOTE: Is it imperative that you use these properly and exactly as you see them! It is also extremely important to note that if you do copy and paste this code, you have to remove the * from the brackets! If not, your HTML coding goes wonky and looks horrible. Examples will be given at the end of the post for 'nesting', etc...

BOLD: <*b>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/b>
This is self-explanatory

UNDERLINE: <*u>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/u>
This is self-explanatory

ITALICS: <*i>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/i>
This is self-explanatory

STRIKE OUT: <*s>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/s>
This is self-explanatory

STANDARD LINK: <*a href="YOUR URL HERE">NAME OF LINK<*/a>

GOODREADS BOOK LINK: [*book: book title]

GOODREADS BOOK COVER LINK: [*bookcover: book title]

GOODREADS AUTHOR LINK: [*author: author name]

GOODREADS SPOILER NOTE: <*spoiler>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/spoiler>
See example at bottom of post

IMAGE: <*img src="YOUR IMAGE LINK HERE" width="40" height="100" alt="description"/>
Width must be 0-400, Height must be 0-1000, alt is a description of the image. All three are optional, but recommended.

NON-FORMATTED TEXT: <*pre>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/pre>
Text in a pre element is displayed in a fixed-width font, and it preserves both spaces and
line breaks.
See example at bottom of post

BLOCKQUOTE TEXT: <*blockquote>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/blockquote>
The browser inserts white space before and after a blockquote element. It also inserts margins for the blockquote element.
See example at bottom of post

PROPER PARAGRAPH: <*p>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/p>
Defines a paragraph. Browsers will automatically add some space (margin) before and after each paragraph.
See example at bottom of post

~*~*~*~*IMPORTANT NOTES*~*~*~*~

Tags must be properly nested!

Example:
OK: <*i><*b>test<*/b><*/i>
Not OK: <*i><*b>test<*/i><*/b>

1. Tags must always go in the order they are used!
2. The best practice is to work from the inner to the outer when you are 'closing' your tags.
3. Closing a tag is when you use the <*/tag> in your HTML.
4. Less is more. The less code you use, the less likely you are to mess it up!

~*~*~*~*CODE EXAMPLES*~*~*~*~

NON-FORMATTED TEXT: <*pre>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/pre>
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.
Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since
the 1500s, when an unknown
printer took a galley of type and scrambled
it to make a type specimen book.

BLOCKQUOTE TEXT: <*blockquote>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/blockquote>
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

PROPER PARAGRAPH: <*p>YOUR TEXT HERE<*/p>
