I thought this book was great and much better than the movie. The only part that I wasn't crazy about was that there were times the football part was overdone. I actually started rolling my eyes at it by the end of the book. Also, his relationship with his doctor was very unrealistic to me. Working in the field, I just thought he was crossing so many boundaries with his client. Overall though, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.
An excellent choice! I just saw the movie on Saturday night and loved it. I'll order from Amazon tonight!
I'm looking forward to reading this book for BOTM. It's my favourite movie. Funnily enough, I just finished watching it again because today it was finally released on BR/DVD!Anyway, I'll probably start reading it in a few weeks or sooner after I finish the current book I'm on. :)
I have the ebook version and I've gotten curious about it. I'd like to also see the movie, but first the book, then movie... xD
Just an FYI to everyone - this book is currently being offered as a first reads giveaway on Goodreads. I think the giveaway ends tomorrow.
I read the book after seeing the movie and loved the book so much more. I thought the characters were far more complex, the mother had a far more of a stronger role and there was so many great things going on in the book. I really loved it a lot

A friend showed me a trailer of this movie, then I searched for the book, and downloaded it yesterday. but I'm gonna read this after This Girl by Colleen Hoover. Hopefully next week.

If you're online (not on an app), there's a link at the top of the page that says explore with a little down arrow button next to it. If you click on the button, there is a drop down menu. Choose giveaways. It will bring you to a page that has a bunch of drawings for free books. The expectation is that if you win a book, you will review it on Goodreads. Anyway, you can just look around in there at all the different books and click on enter giveaway, when you find one that you like.

No problem!
I am so excited to read this! I have been wanting to since I saw the previews for the movie! Now I have a reason to :)
I never really planned on watching the movie haha. I can't stand bradley cooper, he's not a very good actor. the book sounded amazing though
I'm excited to read this, but I'm in Queue position 60 at my library. I did enjoy the movie, so chances are I will really love the book.
I didn't like this book......I LOVED it!!! The characters we're familiar like my own family, and the main character had so much heart, and Tiffany. Well, I love sassy girls. Just such a great mixture of good characters and a great storyline. I didn't not want to put it down....until was almost done.
Just started reading the book! I'm just reaching half way. I love this book so far. I had obviously watched the movie before i started reading the book and i loved the movie which is what made me read the book. But i love how it goes into more detail about his longing for 'Apart time' to be over and how he is trying really hard to be nice instead of right. I just enjoy all the insights into his mind. The sort of things that for obvious reasons cant come across in the movie! x
I read this a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it! I hope everyone reading it right now enjoys it :)
My best friend and I watched the movie and it's really beyond perfection! I'll read the book as soon as possible.
I am currently reading this book, started just a day before it was announced on here. Currently on page 102/283, loving it so far, I love the way it's written, really pulls you in. I haven't seen this film but plan on watching it after :) apparently the film isn't as good as the book and some characters are more likeable in the movie, eg pat's dad...
Look forward to getting this book finished :)

Really, really amazing book. What I love most about it though, is that it's written in a way that allows you to read it very fast, i mean it's very easy to get through, but in the same time it teaches and shows so many things. I loved it <3

I was debating on what book to read next. I was looking for something I could get through pretty fast plus I've heard from many people that this is a good book. I think this one is going to be next!
http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...Here is my review of the book. Loved it. Best book, besides Beautiful Ruins I've read in a long time.

He does very good in the role, super believable, and it is not similar to other roles he has done. I think you will be surprised!
I have neither read the book or watched the movie. But, with so many recommendations, I'm sure to get my hands on the book as soon as I can. Looking forward to a good read.
I enjoyed the movie so much that I decided to read the book. I loved the book more because it was more detailed and showed all the complexity of each character...I particularly loved the mother because of her strong character which was not really shown in the movie. But I didnt really enjoy all the football stuff in the book, I felt it was overemphasized.

I know I was surprised! The movie blew me away with it's message!

Don't you just love the movie?! In my opinion the book and movie are not comparable. Totally different story lines and the movie and book were both made for a different purpose.
Elizabeth wrote: "I loved both the book and the movie in their own way. I liked the movie a tad bit more than the book though."Why did you like the movie better? Just curious.
This book is in my top favorites. It is written so well. I did not want to put it down to do homework! I will say, the movie is amazing, but they aren't really the same stories lines. The book is a must read for everyone. Even my boyfriend loved it and he is a fantasy guy.
