I like puzzles! :DI've been doing random other ones on that site since you showed it to us. I'm attempting a 184 piece crazy one now X)
Steven wrote: "Wow, that took me 30 minutes. Probably shouldn't do that on the clock at work X)"Probably not. ☺
Lisa Kay wrote: "I still need a "test bunny" for a doublet..."LK, I'll give it a go if you want, I normally like them. I'll be home in 20 minutes so can do it then if that's ok?
PUZZLE #23 - Three that are NOT Third. Can you find the three books that are NOT third in a series?
Please DO NOT post solution here. Mail to ratminichallenges@gmail.com With Puzzle # in subject line. Be sure to tell me what Team you are on, though I have most of you memorized! You can just list the book titles in your answer.

PUZZLE #24 - Doublets from "Ache" to "Pain"

Doublets were word-link puzzles first created by Lewis Carroll. Changing only one letter at a time, and using the clues along the side, go from "ache" to "pain"... or vice versa!

ACHE
– bane of a teenager’s existence
– Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland 1702–14
– stake put up by a player in poker and similar games before receiving cards
– small insects (family Formicidae, order Hymenoptera), often with a sting, that usually lives in a complex social colony
– creative works produced by skill and imagination
– scrape or remainder of food from a meal
– cereal plant (Avena sativa) cultivated in cool climates & used for animal feed & human consumption
– light strokes with the hand
– animal's feet having claws and pads (pleural)
– chess piece of the smallest size and value
PAIN

Another slider puzzle, but with twelve pieces. A little harder than average, because the cover has so much black.
Please be sure to show that you worked the puzzle; do NOT just post the bookcover. Thank you.

Mayhaps I have obtained real cupcakes and will finally stop craving them. Oh who am I kidding? Cupcakes rule!

LOL I sent in the doublets and the Not Thirds too :) I'm with you, though, on these sliders. They're definitely not my cup of tea.
Lisa Kay wrote: "I could go for some real cupcakes. ☺"I made some mini-cupcakes for a retirement party at work and still have some left over to eat the rest of this week.
I had chocolate mocha cupcakes today from a local bakery that I just discovered. They were really good.
I broke some diet rules and bought peanut butter oreos.I have a problem. I am addicted to peanut butter. X)
I did two of the cupcakes challenge puzzles but did not see the score is the hobbit blue "list ,the Geisha ,puzzle and the Jim Butcher ,Storm Front ,twice ? I did try to fill in my name in the spread sheet but could not ,????? help.

Since we already got those cupcakes, you are only solving it for fun :D
Just as I suspected I have no patience for sliders (I gave up after maybe 30 seconds). However, I am apparently awesome at doublets. Who knew? Submitted doublets and the 3 that aren't 3rd for Tickle Me Pink!
It's the same for me. Sliders test my patience as well but I do it because I cannot let it win. Stacie wrote: "Just as I suspected I have no patience for sliders (I gave up after maybe 30 seconds). Stacie wrote: "Just as I suspected I have no patience for sliders (I gave up after maybe 30 seconds)."30 seconds! LOMBO! Not very long, Stacie. Good thing you're killing the doublets.
Vi wrote: "It's the same for me. Sliders test my patience as well but I do it because I cannot let it win."Yes, Vi, you are pretty tenacious.
Eni wrote: "wow LK that circle puzzle made my eyes go like this O_O but it's cool lol."And you still beat ❀Tea❀! Impressive, Eni! See what practice does?

It certainly is a love-hate relationship. I think I'm trying to prove something to myself - how many ways can I frustrate myself. LOL
