Maybe Molly and the great american family? Here's a description: Molly tries to dispel her classmates' impression that her family of five sisters (dizzy Lizzie, witchy Emma, ace-pitcher Ralph (short for Raphaella) and Clementine, the adorable baby of the family), and absentminded professor of a father, and a perpetually on-the-go mother is just plain weird by making a documentary movie about them.

This isn't much but...is the "walls painted four different colors" referring to an attic four sisters shared as a bedroom, each with their own corner in their own color?
