Clockwork Prince Buddy Read!

Meaghan, Karen and I are starting a buddy read of Clockwork Prince on April 26! All are welcome to join us for a fun discussion!

There are no set chapters per day, we just read at our own paces and start each post with how far along you are, using spoilers where needed. Have fun!

I'm not very far at all. Just started really. (view spoiler)[ But aww, Will is in love! I'm such a sucker for the bad boy in love triangles...even though I completely chewed him out in Clockwork Angel, lol! That being said, he still needs to redeem himself. (hide spoiler)]

I am about to sit down and try to get through a good bit of this book today but im going to make a guess. (view spoiler)[ I think Will's behavior about love has something to do with a curse. (hide spoiler)]

I have never read a Cassandra Clare book. Maybe I'll join, but I don't know. I don't like love triangles

I didn't mind this particular love triangle (although I usually hate them) as each character brought something interesting to the table (both in traits and backstory). You could definitely join in although you need to read Clockwork Angel first ;)

I have both of the series, so I'm not sure how I got confused. :)
Either way, maybe it's time I read her work.

LOL, that's OK, a lot of her titles are really similar, I get them confused all the time! I personally enjoy her books a lot, so I hope you do too!! That's cool that you've got them both, all you have to do is dive in ;)

I'm about 25% in but I want to further my prediction. (view spoiler)[ Will does not necessarily get affected directly by loving but those he loves (openly) are affected and that's why there is no cure for Jem and why he can't be around his family and why he has this odd dynamic with Tess. I'm about 36% in now. (view spoiler)[ I'm definitely on team Will now! My prediction wasn't too far off, except I thought maybe Jem was so sick because Will loves him. I'm not sure why Tessa can't change into Will though of she really wants to know the answers to all the questions she has about him. (hide spoiler)]

But now the reason I wrote this post (just had to get that out of the way). Prediction time! At the party, she was told that at some point she would stop aging and she wouldn't die. So my guess is Tessa is some kind of immortal and, therefore, the demons curse on Will cannot apply to Tessa. (hide spoiler)]

I'm about 80% now (view spoiler)[ How could she not pick Will, seriously?! He just risked his life for her against the enormous clockwork thing.

I don't want to see Jem unhappy, but I just like Will so much more! I hope Will confesses to Tessa why he acts like he does. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I understand why Tessa accepts Jem's proposal--he's so good and sweet to her, and Will is so hot/cold all the time. She doesn't know what's going on with him, so I completely get it. At the same time, I don't want to see Will hurt either! (hide spoiler)]

Will is going to be devastated! :( I started having a feeling the curse was false or a lot more people would probably be dead by now (e.g., Charlotte, his family, etc...). I wish Magnus thought of that sooner tho when Will originally confessed. (hide spoiler)]

LOL! I think we were going to wait for Karen to get back from her trip to Mexico, is that right, Jenny? We've got Fragments starting Friday so we'll probably all mostly finish by the end of the weekend, and then we could Clockwork Princess on say Tuesday? I think Karen will be back around then. Because then we were going to do Hunger next Friday. Omg so many good books coming up eek!

I'm late to the party but in nonetheless. I hadn't intended to read this, but I'm glad I did. This audio narration makes the story infinitely more interesting - and the dialogue is SO clever. So enjoyable, and (view spoiler)[what is the deal with Will's curse and Tessa? (hide spoiler)]I absolutely adore Magnus.

Mexico was fabulous! I did drink margheritas for everyone and a few pina coladas, a couple of Coronas and a few mudslides too! Nom nom! Read 5 or 6 books! And feel nice and recharged! WOOT WOOT!

So, on to the whole Will thing. (view spoiler)[I agree that Jem should be in the friend zone and not really husband material for Tessa. Plus he's a really good guy so what is he thinking tying Tessa to him when he's sickly and isn't expected to live long. I know they're looking for a cure, but... Will is definitely a favorite character! I love the romance between Charlotte and Henry! Awe!!

Hhmmm... Will's sister shows up! This is going to get really interesting! (hide spoiler)]. I have a prediction for book 3, but will wait for the thread to start before making it! ;-P

Jenny and David, how could you bear waiting to find out what happened next? Glad we're jumping right into book 3 next week!!

Out of the entire TMI series and this series, Clockwork Prince is my favorite book to date!
