Danielle (~Dani~) (danibear579) | 9 comments Betwixt by Tara Bray Smith...I picked it up & put it down sooo many times- in the end I threw it to the side extremely frustrated. I just couldn't grasp where it was trying to go! Did not finish that book.

message 103: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_bean) I couldn't really get into The Hunger Games, and I hated The Great Gatsby. I absolutely despised Their Eyes Were Watching God, too.

message 104: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_bean) Oh yeah, Insurgent was a struggle to get through for me, and I didn't like Matched either.

message 105: by Lori (new)

Lori King (lbking94) | 0 comments I hated the 50 shades trilogy and only finished because I had paid for them. The dialogue and characters were so shallow, I cared nothing about them. A twisted plot at the end would have been the only thing to save it for me.

I agree. I received the trilogy from a friend & only made it through chapter 9 of book one. I kept waiting for the plot to thicken, or a little more mystery would have been nice. Maybe if I have nothing else to read, I'll give the book another try...lol.

Christine (chpico) | 6 comments Sorry, but I find Nora Roberts down right boring & Stephen King puts me on edge.

Good point. I can't say much for the book since I only made it through chapter 9 of book one, but I would have enjoyed it more if it also stimulated my intellectual side. I found each chapter to be a little to predictable.

I hated 50 shades too...I really don't understand why its such a big deal

Nielah Mckee | 11 comments I hated the Uglies. I thought I would give a try but I could not handle the main character. It annoyed me that she cared more about her image then anything else.

Mochaspresso | 27 comments I hated Wuthering Heights.

message 115: by ree (last edited May 05, 2013 03:46AM) (new)

ree | 24 comments 'Slammed', by Colleen Hoover. Sorry, I know many people will hate me for saying it. But I disliked the MC, and cannot quite figure out why it's a 4.35 read, when I've read so many books that are far better. Example: The Great Gatsby which is said to be a classic is a 3.78 and Diana Gabaldon's Outlander is a 4.08. Excellent books, with fairly decent ratings-- but probably worth higher marks.

ree | 24 comments Sarah wrote: "I couldn't really get into The Hunger Games, and I hated The Great Gatsby. I absolutely despised Their Eyes Were Watching God, too."

Agreed, couldn't get into the hunger games either. However, just started the Great Gatsby, so far so good.

message 117: by Jorday (new)

Jorday I hated Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde, guess it's just not my thing. and Paper Towns by John Green

May I have your address? I'd like to send you an official thank you note and a muffin basket for having common sense. I didn't get the whole hype around it, either. I honestly can't understand why anyone would think this is a good book.

Saw Sin | 2 comments The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.HATED IT.i've heard alot of good things about it,but when i actually start reading it...no,just no.

message 121: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (bellavinter) Thirteen Reasons Why... I'm sure it is a great piece of fiction, but when I started reading it I didn't find it interesting at all... Sorry Jay Asher fans..

message 122: by Alexandra (new)

Alexandra (cherry_crush) | 30 comments I hated LoTR as well, I read then in the hope of liking it at some point but i just couldn't. And I hated the writing style as well. There I said it :D
I also absolutely hated Uglies. It wasn't thought through and the character development was just... non-existing. I still don't know how i got through it :D

Even if I take it as "taboo" on BDSM relationships, still not a great novel. The sex scenes were relatively descriptive but I have read far better "erotica" novels than that. Even romance novels with more juice and better all around content.
The end of the first book alone was enough to set my teeth on edge and I too only finished the series because they had been bought and paid for, haven't picked them up since and don't plan on it.
I still can't figure out how the series became so popular when authors like Kenyon and Roberts do a much better job.

message 124: by Diana (new)

Diana Gotsch | 55 comments Several friends raved about the series Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever by Stephen Donaldson. struggled through the first one, tried the second and hated even more.

message 133: by Kenna (new)

Kenna Jean (mskennajean) | 3 comments I have to say, I'm in the middle Meg Cabot's 'Princess Diaries' series, and I absolutely hate it. I'm one of those people that has to finish a series. One more book..

message 134: by Danielle (~Dani~) (new)

Danielle (~Dani~) (danibear579) | 9 comments I really, REALLY could not stand Kiera from "Thoughtless"....so much that (even though I LOVED Kellen) I will not read the rest of the series! She irks me just thinking about her so, I'm gonna say ta-ta ;)

message 135: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (missams) | 59 comments I really did not enjoy reading "Perfectly Dateless" by Kristin Billerbeck. I got the book for free, and it looked really interesting to read, but when I got to the end of the book, all I could think of was how unrealistic it was for a character to change that fast. The sad part is that it is part of a series and all I can think about now is how the other two books go. I do not know why I am obsessing over this book. I am now reading "Eight Cousins" and I am enjoying it, but the other book and it series is constantly popping into my head.

Michael (lovechild) | 280 comments I read nothing but praise for Life After Life by Kate Atkinson but I was bored to tears and could not wait to put it behind me.

message 137: by Corinne (new)

Corinne Muller (corinnem) I couldn't get through You Had Me At Hello. Tried three times.

message 138: by Savannah (new)

Savannah (skyswriting) I really didn't like Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick
I do, however, love the covers very much.

message 139: by Christian (new)

Christian Maria Morgan I hated...Eon and Magyk. Gosh that book was horrid!

There, I said it!

message 140: by Brit (new)

Brit (britmeup) You're all gonna hate me, but Harry Potter. Couldn't get past the first book even though I tried like 3 times.

message 141: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Perry | 229 comments at least ur honest I hate twilight but I do love Harry Potter

message 142: by Christian (new)

Christian Maria Morgan gosh Brittany you just punched me in the gut, but no worries, you tried at least. (do you like the movies?)

Two more: Little Woman ( gag ) and Uglies ( wanted to like it, but it didn't work out.)

Steven (steven91) Brittney wrote: "You're all gonna hate me, but Harry Potter. Couldn't get past the first book even though I tried like 3 times."

Many years ago when I began the Harry Potter series, it literally took me two weeks to get get past the first chapter. However, once I got into the book, it was amazing.

I disliked the second half of Catching Fire and could not even start Mocking Jay. The series became too predictable for me. I liked the action in The Hunger Games, but hated how the series turned into sappy love story about a teenage girl who could not make up her mind.

message 146: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (bellavinter) Thirteen Reasons Why. I literally couldn't read more than the first 30 pages. And the third Vampire Academy book... Really... again, getting past the first 30 pages was impossible for me.

Olga wrote: "The Dinner and Divergent"

But opposite you, I really LOVED Divergent. I think it's my favorite book (along with Shatter Me.)

message 147: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (turkey) It haaaated Beautiful Creatures. It was boring, predicable and pretty much all of the characters were terrible. I think it's one of the only books I couldn't bother finishing

message 148: by Emily (new)

Emily (emkathh) I'm so frustrated with what the Pretty Little Liars series has become, I just want to burn them all

message 149: by Leora (new)
