What do you think is Maxon's secret?

The book chamber maybe? Or the way he got those scars on his back - which I was raging about when we found out about it. Made me want to cry :(
Yah. maybe you're right. But I was wondering in the last chapter of The Elite when America talked to the king."Maxon had said he wanted to be honest with me. Was he keeping this a secret?"
She was talking about the other girls. Because she saw Maxon kissing Celeste and what with Kriss. I mean, what is really with him?
The "back" thing. His father's the one doing it and we know, therefore it's not a secret to us but a secret to the queen and the rest of Ilea except for the king, Maxon and America.
But Maxon is hiding something from America. That's what I more curious about.
i agree - there's definitely something more that he's hiding but i'm not quite able to put my finger on it. i thought for a while it was about the abuse that they suffered, but i also wonder although he said that the New Asia trip was a 'test', Elise's family said that they never arrived, so i'm thinking that maybe there's more of a tie to Gregory Illea there. that his father and him are plotting something more and that Maxon is going to try to do something completely different and more passive since he alluded to the idea that his strategy had been to be quiet and calm to make change vs. America's more bullish overt tactics.
I really think it's the back thing. I mean the way that Tweet is set up it seems like the secret is told in the Elite, and there was a clue leading up to in the Selection. i.e. the secret is an abusive father. I think she just phrased it that way so that the people who haven't read the Elite yet are not spoiled.
I was SHOCKED!! To find out his father beats the bloody hell out of him just over stupid stuff smh my mouth dropped on that one, but when he did it so his father wont do it to her awwww
I think the secret was something we already learned about. I don't believe it is something we have to wait until book 3. It might be the other girls.. Like what he was doing with Celeste
Veronica wrote: "I was SHOCKED!! To find out his father beats the bloody hell out of him just over stupid stuff smh my mouth dropped on that one, but when he did it so his father wont do it to her awwww"Yes! Finally! Someone like me who doesn't think the secret is the abuse.
Haley wrote: "I dont think the secret is the abuse. That seems to obvious, I think it will be something that no one saw coming."I think the secret is part of something we've read. Not the whole thing. I mean, it might be the abuse but something more about the abuse. Or with the other girls, but something more than what he's doing with Celeste.
Well maybe idk as i think about it yes maybe the abuse was apart of it or not but that was just omg to me.
If the secret's clue is in THE SELECTION, but then could it also be in THE PRINCE...I mean, it's his point of view, and maybe Daphne could be involved in this as well; at least part of it?
Well in The Elite it talks about King Clarkson and how some girls were offering more than America was....so maybe the secret is with Celeste...I don't know that's another thing that intrigued me.
I dont know what Maxon's secret is...but when I initially read the Elite and the threat at the end with the King about the other girls I did think he was referring to the aweful Celeste moment and possibly the same with the other girls in the selection (which makes me sick)...but soon after i read the Elite I read the Prince and I believe it is more likely that King Clarkson was referring to Daphne. The King himself said he has spys all over so maybe someone told the King about Daphne's declaration of love. Plus it would be very hard for America to find out about Daphne except through Maxon and really how likely is it that Maxon will confess about that.
But I don't know if daphne will come back since some people may not have read THE PRINCE because they don't have access to an electronic book...
Does that trip to New Asia bother anyone one else? Because out of nearly everything i read in the Elite that weird trip to New Asia and the fact that the King and the Prince supposedly never arrived really really bugs me and I cant even come up with a plausible reason for it? Honestly after all the things left unsaid in this book that is the one that really irks me. Could his secret lie in that trip?

And Kiera tweeted this https://twitter.com/kieracass/status/... ...... Waaaaaaah!
So I have to read The Selection again and find the hints she left there about Maxon's secret. But if any of you have their own conclusions...I guess it wouldn't hurt to share? Haha.
