Kim (mrsnesbitt) | 77 comments I just read an ARC of Susan Dennard's "Something Strange and Deadly." It is due out in July of this year. Steam-punk over tones, set in Philadelphia in the Victorian era,and the dead are rising from their graves. Yes, zombies are roaming Philly and Elanor Fitt, of the Philadelphia Fitt's is right in the middle of it. Fans of Gail Carriger will like this very much. I felt it starts a little slowly, but that it builds momentum well.

Ryan Tyson | 1 comments I decided to check out a debut author, pretty much unknown. I was hesitant because I was referred to him by someone who knows him so I wasn't expecting much. But damn when I started reading the book I couldn't put it down. It's a gritty paranormal horror that keeps me locked in the whole time. Harbinger by David J. Bright. I'm a little more than halfway through it and its def. a page turner. Kinda like Stephen King. I'd highly recommend it.

Kim (mrsnesbitt) | 77 comments I just read an ARC for a new tween/teen book that comes out next Feb. called "Jinx" and it is really good. According to the author there will be 2 more books. Great take on magic and knowing when to "follow" rules and when not to.

Stephen Morris | 5 comments The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker

Just finished this! A great portrait of legendary figures suddenly arrived in turn-of-the-century Manhattan with complex yet easy-to-follow multiple storylines that come together in totally unexpected ways in a series of twists and turns at the last minute.
