Valorie I just finished Red Fire (Gods of Midnight, #1) by Deidre Knight and really enjoyed it. I loved that she used the Spartans as the male heroes. I just kept picturing the hot men from the 300 movie through the whole book - YUM! I'm now moving on to Wild Rain (Leopard People, #2) by Christine Feehan

Erin (erin-b) I'm nearly finished with Divine Misdemeanors (Meredith Gentry, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton and Valley of Silence (Circle trilogy #3) by Nora Roberts and about a third of the way into Jacob (Nightwalkers, #1) by Jacquelyn Frank . I'm not sure how I feel about Divine Misdemeanors yet, but I'm really enjoying the other two.

I was the same way, I loved Dark Lover. Unfortunatly I haven't had the time to read any of the others yet, but did go out and buy them all, so they're ready for when I have time, I can't wait to read more of the series :)

I finished DARK LOVER and thought it was just okay mostly. The silly names really irk me and it is primarily a PNR which is not my favorite thing. I've started the 2nd one and hope I like it better. I have all of the first 6 books, and if I don't like this one better I think I'll put them all on eBay.

message 621: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Almost done with Dead Witch Walking. This is the first Kim Harrison book I've read and I really like it.

Paula (pauldajo) Finished reading Poison Study, Magic Study and listening to Kitty and the Midnight Hour. I've given up on The Rest Falls Away. Currently reading Once a Witch.

I really like the Kitty Norville books. KITTY AND THE MIDNIGHT HOUR has a little of the "first book" syndrome, but is still a great read.

Such a great series that just gets better and better with each book! I hope you like the rest Carolyn.

Paula - what didn't you like about The Rest Falls Away?? I've got that on my TBR pile.

message 626: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I just finished Eyes of Fire by C.J. England and really didn't think it was that great. I found the female character to be whiny and self depreciating and the male fae character to be mean and indecisive. He couldn't seem to decide if he wanted the girl or not, and then took out his anger about it on her. Anyway, I could only give it 3 stars. I'm now moving on to Dark Stranger (Primes, #8) by Susan Sizemore

I liked Kitty and the Midnight Hour also. The title made me think that it was going to be more lighthearted. I listened to the book and liked Kitty's on air manner. I hope not all packs are like the one she got stuck in. I have the next 2 books on audio and will listen to them. We always take a chance ordering more than one book in an unread series!

message 628: by Paula (last edited Jan 20, 2010 07:33AM) (new)

Paula (pauldajo) Shanon, I just couldn't get into The Rest Falls Away. I tried over and over. It was just blah to me. This is partly due to having so many other books that I really want to read. Also, it just seemed like a copy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have read that the ending is good and worth the read. This book is the beginning of a series, so the following books may be better. I probably didn't give it a chance, but I'm moving on.

Ain't that the truth! There are probably some books out there that I didn't give enough of a chance or rated low because I just wanted to get through them to get to the book I really wanted to read.

I loved it. I'm reading
The Good, the Bad, and the Undead right now.

message 631: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished Once a Witch

I started Carpe Demon and I can't believe I saying this, but I don't like it. The book is going to the 'Not-going-to happen' bookshelf. I started reading Tainted, but got turned off by the monster and the frog. I'm not putting that book in the 'Not-going-to happen' bookshelf, but I'm putting it down from now.

I am reading a non UF book Nightshade.

message 632: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) I picked up Atlantis Rising (Warriors of Poseidon, #1) by Alyssa Day on a whim while wandering the library yesterday and ended up finishing it this morning. I really liked it, so I think I'll pick up the second in the series when I get the chance. I'm still working on Dark Symphony (Carpathians, #10) by Christine Feehan and am almost finished, and I started Glory in Death (In Death #2) by J.D. Robb as well.

I hope to be able to buy book 4 and 5 of the series this week, if not I will be jumping to book 6 [image error] which I have on my tbr pile.

I wonder what it would be like if Rachel and Trent hooked up?? Ha. Never..."

I know Miriah, Rachel does seem attracted to him even thought she doesn't want to be. I finished The Good, the Bad, and the Undead, Every Which Way But Dead amd A Fistful of Charms but I need the next book before I'll read the rest. They are so good.

While I'm waiting I'm finishing a challenge and reading Full Moon Rising, which I didn't realize I'd read before. It's a very good book. I'm reading Kissing Sin next.

I love the Odd Thomas books. Their a little more toward horror but are not as scary as some of Dean Koontz' other books. I've read them all and can't wait until the next comes out.
