Valorie Wow!! I just finished Night's Cold Kiss (A Dark Brethren Novel, book 1) by Tracey O'Hara and LOVED it!! I could not put the book down!! What a great new author! Very interesting take on vampires and hot, hot, hot romance!! If you are looking for a new author to try Tracey O'Hara is it!! Very strong female heroine and intense and thrilling story!! I'm reading Lord of the Highlands (Berkley Sensation) by Veronica Wolff next.

I hadn't heard of Night's Cold Kiss before - but with a triple "hot" description I'm going to have to go check it out :)

Wow Carolyn - You're really churning through the books!

message 559: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. The secret is don't watch TV. I used to read a little and watch TV a lot but now I just read. It usually takes me 1 to 1-1/2 days to read a book. I'm trying really hard to make that 144 for 2010 goal.

message 560: by Shanon (new)

Shanon (boban) | 1166 comments Mod
At that rate you're going to hit 144 books with no troubles!!!

I used to watch a lot of TV too - in fact when I met my husband he used to tease me because I HAD to be home at certain times to watch different shows. I'm a reformed TV addict now and only watch shows on DVD so I can set my own schedule again. It's left much more time for reading!!

I'm currently reading Pleasure Unbound. It was a group read for another group months and months ago that I never got to but always wanted to.

message 561: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I just finished Lord of the Highlands (Berkley Sensation) by Veronica Wolff and really liked it. It's a time travel romance. I'm now reading Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men (Jane Jameson, #2) by Molly Harper .

message 562: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished The Summoning which was a good YA read until I got to the end. The manner in which the book ended irritated me.

Started on Ballad: The Gathering of Faerie and put it down after the first chapter. Not because it's a bad book, though. I'll read it later.

I'm now reading Soulless and am enjoying the book.

Paula (pauldajo) Finsihed Soulless and started Shiver.

message 585: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Finished Street Game, really good book. Started Rogue by Rachel Vincent. This is an example of a book I couldn't get into twice and on the third try I'm really liking.

Paula - you'll have to let me know about Shiver. I've heard it's really slow but it keeps getting high ratings.

message 587: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I don't think it's slow, but the book is mainly a relationship/love story. Truly a soul mate theme with a little paranormal. I like the universe, it's a bit different. However, I can see how a lot of people consider Shiver slow, if they are looking for a lot of fast pace action. Usually I don't like paranormal romances I'm more UF, but Shiver pleases me.

message 588: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I just finished Master of Dragons and really enjoyed it. I'm now moving on to Red Fire (Gods of Midnight, #1) by Deidre Knight

message 589: by Carolyn F. (new)

I'm about half way through The Last Wish and am enjoying it. It's not quiet what I was expecting but still good.

I'm also slowly working my way through Grimm's Grimmest (my first swap book!). It's a collection of some of Grimm's original fairy tales.

message 597: by Paula (last edited Jan 14, 2010 09:33AM) (new)

Paula (pauldajo) Finished Shiver, started Poison Study. I've been wanting to read this book for many months.

message 598: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) Was shiver good?

message 599: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) Heather, I liked Shiver. I consider it a YA love story with paranormal elements. There are a few holes in the story, but I focused on the relationship between Sam and Grace. Many people thought Shiver dragged and I can see how they would. I didn't expect a fast pace, so I wasn't irritated.

message 600: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) Alright thanks, I wasn't sure cause it seems like everyone thought different things :S
