Round II - Tower Teams Read-a-Thon

Ezinwanyi - 351 pgs (theme book)

Tea - 304 pgs

Turtlecollector - 351 pgs

No... you can't! **blows raspberry**

I want to take a picture but I'm too lazy to walk downstairs to my book shelf, therefore, virtual is what ya get. I put my shelf on random and chose the first 5 green books I came across:

Mini-Challenge #1 - Green with Envy
Team Leather Jacket Black
I didn't realise how many books I have with green covers! So 4 of these I have read and one (Artemis Fowl) is TBR

once or twice will be better - easier to keep track

Hobbits are having little problem. As you can see in this post, 3 members have finished books, but only for one member (TC) stats are changed. I can see all books in details and view books in 2013. Just that orange thingy is stuck.
Any ideas?
Edit:
Looks like I fixed it :)
Clicking on books and pages doesn't change a thing, but after I clicked on publication year it showed all books :D
*goes to update spreadsheet finally*
Edit 2:
I have to click on pub year every time to see real stats :( So I guess it's not really fixed.

It looks like a refreshing issue like sometimes the team challenge widget has
*sigh*
I didn't want to go there but... it looks to me that the alternative will be going to the read shelf, add the num_pages view and manually count them.
I'm at work now, but I'll prepare the spreadsheet to this option too, and will consider the higher number from the too to point calculation.

At this time it is only affecting 1 member and it was the first book finished so you would think that it would be refreshed by now. I can check later and let you know if there has been any changes.
Mine did the same today, it seems to take a while to refresh. When I did what Tea suggested (clicking on publication year) it seemed to force the refresh

It forces refresh but it doesn't stay that way. If you go check your stats again, it will be back to earlier one.
I might have found solution. I don't know if it's temporary or not. I've marked book I haven't read so far as read, went to stats, clicked on pub year (which fixed stats). Then deleted said book and my stats are now OK. We'll see if they stay that way after another book's done :)

So, I've added another tab on the spreadsheet with the pages read.
I will probably opt for this solution since is more reliable.
books to consider pages read - the ones marked as read within days May 1st and May 12th.
Have to get back to work now. Any questions about the new rating system, please let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

*facepalm*
1. Go to the read shelf
2. add the page number to the view
3. Order by book read
4. Register page numbers on the spreadsheet (on the tab named Participants Read Pages)
see Alexa from team Wild Blue Yonder as an example - she's the only one I updated the page numbers
5. The number will appear in the Total Pages Read column on the Participants tab this step is not working yet
Around 9 PM (GMT/BST) I will update the spreadsheet to reflect steps above
Meanwhile, the team captains can use that process to track their teammates reads.

We don't know when things stopped updating. Could this mean that starting number of pages is also wrong? I don't think anybody thought to check if things are 'correct'

I thought about that possibility when one of Mary's books from Cadet Blue weren't on the stats... hence the switch of method.
I should have checked first, specially with all the refreshing experience from the challenge books.
*shakes head in disbelief*

it seems like we have a whole lot of tracking going on.
As many teams, I have a Readathon thread in my team group on NBRCII group. Each member is supposed to have a post and track the books that they have read. I don't want to ask my team members to post on multiple places.
Am I supposed to then post a daily summary here for Sonia to use in tracking? It now seems that individual team members are submitting their books and pages here.
As a team captain, I thought I was supposed to be doing the validating, etc......I am only asking because it's seems like a lot for Sonia to do for everyone, and having lots of people "double-tracking" is taking time away from the primary activity of reading :-D

(I do read a fair number of graphic novels :-D)

I know Mary. What I meant was that I first notice the issue with the refreshing because of your book.
But, the change on method will walk around that "bug". And is a reliable source, since everybody has a way of validating books added and pages read :)

They are? I thought only captains were doing that. I'll probably will open a new thread on the sister group for captains to post the RaT updates and page validations.
I'll see to that after work & gym.
I'll beta test the new method, will post instructions and will delegate each team's book validation to their captains/co-captains.
Menawhile, this thread will work for mini-challenge posting - again, participation is not mandatory, and it's just for fun no points involved - and questions/issues, and everything else.
JoLene wrote: "Also, I wanted to point out that people who read graphic novels either need to wait to log them until after the readathon or there needs to be a way to have exceptions to back out the pages read.

Since the validation is going to be book by book on the read shelf, graphic novels can be marked as read, unless the captain/co-captain says otherwise, because we can check on the type of the book before counting it for the read-a-thon.

Yes, it is a time issue. Which I wouldn't give that much importance if not for the chaos I'm predicting it will cause on the end of the RaT event.
So, better safe than sorry, we'll check pages using another method.

I think I missed a post while I was typing!! That's what happens when I'm sneaking on here instead of analysing results lol!

Yeah, I'm not sure why there is tracking going on throughout this thread. It's confusing things for some people. And I don't think we have to do a daily track report, do we?

Teresa i wanted to use my own books! take a picture and post it here.. but sadly i just realized it barely has any o_o i have 1 green book on my bookshelve O_O so i went to the virtual one instead :( (and yes virtual counts 2 =p)
i hope these count cause i found out that apparently i have greenism! (the refusal to read green books!) and harry potter isn't on my read shelf cause i was 2 lazy when i signed up for GoodReads so i never tagged all the books i read lol. Harry Potter is actually the only green book i actually own o_O

LOL! Love the term, "greenism," Eni! Wow. Well, if you have to have one, that is the one to have!

Personally, I think we should total the regular paperback page count for these. It is only fair. But...Sonia's decision.

I agree with Lisa Kay.
Mini-Challenge #2:

Post a bookcover link to said book and state the Team & member from which it came! State different reasons why you are posting that bookcover. Ideas, such as:

Reasons: i loved the cover! looked at the description and ended up adding this to my to-read shelf =)
totally feel like a spy =o

Cadet Blue
I cautiously snuck in to Mango Tango territory and looked at what Steven has read since the R-a-T started. He posted A is for Alibi and gave a really neat goodreads review - short and sweet! Love this series, and have been thinking about revisiting them all over again via audio.

Mango Tango
I put on my invisibility cloak (the only Hallow I've found on my quest so far) and tiptoed through a bunch of different team libraries... straight into the "Forbidden" section!
There I found that Ashley Marie over at Wild Blue Yonder has been reading Forbidden books... and one of the covers caught my eye. It's a book I've been thinking about reading anyways, and the cover always gets my attention! Plus, the magical moving photos of people she had left in her review cracked me up! So I snuck it under my cloak, stole out of the library, and, with much relief, made it back into my house common room without getting caught.
I smiled to myself mischeviously as I slipped the copy of
