Okay, I'm jumping in. Book seven was intense! Waiting for their HEA is killing me. But my God, are they hot! Especially Ty.

I apparently have a little problem with this series. I read the first six books in about a week. And then stopped my life to read the seventh on a single Sunday. My husband has asked if I need an intervention with my "book porn."

What part are you at? I'm dying to ask anyone whose already read it about a specific plot point.

I left off at the part where Zane is with Liam and Owen and he found out Ty and the rest are in jail. They are planning on busting Ty out.

More into? Hmmm... If I didn't know the quiet moments and private conversations and actions that we know through the book, it would be Zane. But knowing, it's Ty all the way - even though he'd scare the heck out of me.

BTW, the WTH moment that you're discussing? That's part of my questions/confusions - issues with this book.

Here's what I can manage to put down of my thoughts: (BTW, finished the book early this morning)

(view spoiler)[OK, I know that Ty has to reveal certain things during the course of this book, because he & Liam are the only ones with the Big Picture, so to speak on what's got them all into this mess.

But WHY did Ty feel he had to tell Zane EVERYTHING? Did he have to tell him that Burns thought he was a traitor? Couldn't he have stopped with Burns pairing them up to keep Zane safe from the cartel?

For some, total honesty is best. But for most people, telling everything to the person you love is bad, bad, bad. It usually only relieves the person's conscience who's doing the telling. And in this case, that's what I think. Although I know that Ty tries to be as honorable, honest, and loyal as he possibly can be at all times. And I *get* that the secrets he carries around eat at him - cause him to go crazy from time to time.

But telling Zane everything... did Ty really expect Zane to just let it all go? IMO, Zane overreacted major league. I suppose that I should be more empathetic to Zane - that's a tough blow. And I guess, to Zane, he starts questioning everything Ty's said and done including their intimacy, thinking that it's all been about Ty playing his UC role for Burns to discover if Zane's a traitor. But REALLY? 'Cuz everyone ELSE knows that Ty's head over heels for Zane; that can't be faked to that extent. So is it just about feeling hurt and betrayed?

Zane wigging out for awhile... beating up on Ty? Totally get that. Don't agree, necessarily, but I can see that being in Zane's character.

The drinking again, though? Is it because Ty is the only thing keeping Zane from drinking? Or is that Zane's relying on his previous coping mechanisms to deal with this cluster?

I expected Zane to be hurt, feel betrayed... yeah. But the intensity of those emotions - the hate he spewed at Ty... no. I didn't expect that.

Somehow, I believed Ty right away when he said he did it to stay with Zane and to protect him. I'd be ticked - heck yeah! But... One of the male reviewers said he thinks that it's the diff between men and women, and that he totally gets Zane's reactions 100%. I don't. (hide spoiler)]

HELP? What do you think?

Part of me thinks it was a convenient way to put pain and angst back into this relationship... to keep the books going. And to combat the author's issues with being called on "fluff" from the previous 2 books. I don't follow the author or the Ty/Zane group here (or anywhere)... and I don't fully know or understand or care about the past drama. I just read the books.

Which is why I was so thrown and so ticked at these events. Seemed like there was ENOUGH going on around them, trying to bring them all down... why did Ty feel now was the time to come 100% clean with Zane?

But to answer your question (view spoiler)[I believe Ty decided to tell Zane the whole truth because Zane knows when Ty is lying or holding back. I do agree that Zane did over react. However, I think it has more to do with him being hurt than anything. The poor guy found out that someone who he has been living with for over a year and together for over two has been keeping that kind of a secret. He found out that he was Ty's assignment for crying out loud. That has to be a blow to the ego if Ty was put there to protect him. I do not think Zane really meant that the whole thing, including their relationship was part of the assignment. He is really hurt and just needs to process the information.(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I agree. I also wonder (view spoiler)[ if Ty just didn't want to keep secrets anymore. Lay it bare between them. I think Ty was willing to take whatever fallout there was. And Zane - yeah, agree with you both about his reaction - but he's a guy of extremes. Either bottled up or exploding. Totally drinking and drugs or sober. So even the violence didn't surprise me. That said, I don't follow the author or groups anywhere else either. And this definitely took a turn to the dark. Were readers complaining that the series was too fluffy?

You know Tellulah I am not sure. There is a group here called Ty and Zane Are Like Crazk (that really is there name and I am a proud member) but I haven't gone on there to avoid spoilers.

From previous posts in that group, I personally never came across any complaints about them being to fluffy. I never thought that so I am surprised with how intense this one is.

Again I am not finished but something tells me I am in for some dark times.

I picked up on some reviews of the last 2 books where reviewers mentioned that these books were considered "fluffy". Dunno if it's because Ms. Roux started writing them solo or not.

Personally, I didn't find Armed & Dangerous fluffy. I really liked it. And I thought Ty & Zane started acting life real FBI guys. As for Stars & Stripes... perhaps there's fluff in there, but it's one of my favorite books. It was really nice to have a break from the gloom-doom stuff; it was lighter in tone and lighter because of how Ty & Zane were relating to one another. There was still mayhem and crazy stuff involved, though.

That's why I speculate that perhaps Ms. Roux turned up the "dark" and "intense" factors in this book. IMO, there's so much going on, I had a hard time following it all. AND there was a lot of stuff that could really have developed into something (the whole voodoo/gris-gris stuff) really interesting. Felt, to me, like 3 plots slammed into one book.

I din't think any of the books were fluff. There were parts in each book where there were tender moments but for the most part Ty and Zane are badass!!!

I am going to try and finish the book tonight. I want to talk more about it with you ladies.

I gotta say, my favorite "fan myself vigorously moment" in the series is after Ty gets his hair dyed in the third one, I think, when they go on the cruise, and decides to get into character as the submissive. Holy Hannah!

That was a great scene. One of the funniest scenes was when they went to Texas (can't remember which book) and Ty was drugged and Zane finds him petting the tiger. Thinking about it makes me LMAO.

Well now... that's a good question.

Here are my thoughts: (view spoiler)[Could be that Ms. Roux didn't plan that from the beginning. But it could also be that Burns needed Deuce's assessment of a) could Ty handle the assignment - was he too involved with Zane to handle it, and b) what Deuce thought of Zane and what he was capable of. Deuce knows Ty well enough that if he had time with both of them and then time with just Zane, he (Deuce) could probably let Burns know what he needed to know even without telling Deuce the whole truth. Personally, I think that Ms. Roux decided somewhere after book 2 to put this into the picture. Could even have been just with this last book... Does it work, though? I think it's kinda hoky, but it does fit...

Gotcha, Marcella. I agree. It seemed like almost drama-for-drama's sake. Enough other things happened in this book that driving that wedge between Ty & Zane was unnecessary and unneeded. Just a way to cause more havoc, drama, angst, and heartache for Ty, Zane, and readers.

Especially in light of how this book ended. Plenty in this book and it's ending to accomplish all of the above. At times, I thought the top of my head might blow off!

(view spoiler)[All this crap started because Owen opened his big mouth when they were all in the hotel room. If he didn't insinuate that Ty was hiding something then none of this shit would have come to light. It hurt Zane unnecessarily. Although at the end I think it strengthened their relationship and made them become self reliant, it just broke my heart to see that wedge between them.

My questions also is who is the mole and who are they spying for? I thought it was Liam who set everything in motion but when they got back, Burns indicated there was a bug in McCoy's office. And how predictable was it that Ty was gonna be called back to active duty. And then for her to end it there...UGH!(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I didn't pick that up about Owen... I figured when they were piecing together the what and why about Liam, it was necessary for Ty to reveal at least some things. I still don't think he had to spill it all.

As for your other question:(view spoiler)[It would be too easy for the mole to be McCoy. So that leaves the other 4 that Ty & Zane have been working for... or that's what Ms. Roux is implying. IMO, it just keeps the series moving: Zane trying to uncover the mole at the FBI while Ty does whatever he's doing thru the Marine Corps.

I have NO IDEA who the mole is supposed to be or what the significance of the mole is all about... yet. (hide spoiler)]
