Breathtakingly brilliant, this crime novel will have chills shooting down your spine and tears in your eyes. It is not for the squeamish, as some parts can be graphic in violence towards children. But--- with that said the author does a fantastic job navigating a delicate plot line. You despise this real-life villain and want him caught at all costs. I haven't been this engrossed in a read in a long time. I can't wait for more from this debut author!! I highly recommend this as a group read. There is so much to talk about!! LOVED IT!!!

I just finished reading the last of the Kathy Reichs series. I have also read all of the Lames Patterson Women's Murder Club series and the Rizzoli and Isle series by Tess Geritsen which was my favorite. Does you guys have a favorite series?

Just started the new Jefferson Bass book, Cut to the Bone. If you enjoy Patrician Cornwell or Kathy Reigns books, you will love the Body Farm series. I have meet Dr. Bass several times and he is the real deal. Since most of these books are set in my backyard, I love them.

Looking for thoughts on the Sue Grafton Alphabet series and Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta series. Are they good? Are they worth starting and finishing since they are quite lengthy? I've hard that the Scarpetta books start off great but the recent ones haven't been so good. Just curious as to what you all think! Thanks in advance! :)

I have read a couple of the Scarpetta books ages ago, ( Postmortem and Body of Evidence ), I found them quite hard to get into, but I do like to think that if a book is started it has to be finished. Have never read any Sue Grafton books

reading the violet hour by richard montanari, usually love his books and can't put them down, but this one's taking ages to get going properly, don't get me wrong its a good book, but unusually disjointed for this author.

I love Sue Grafton! read most of them and waiting for W to get in. just starting the Sarpetta series.

I have read only a couple of Cornwell's books; they started to get too gory for me.
I have read all of the Grafton books; recently finished "W is for Wasted." They may look long, but they are pretty fast reads. Grafton paces her books well, and her plots move along effortlessly. Kinsey is a terrific narrator, very straightforward and matter of fact; and doesn't care a lot what people think of her.

I've finally finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo . I only say finally because I just didn't seem to have much time to read last month for whatever reason. Although the book started sooooo incredibly slow, it ended on a high note. I had already seen the movie so I knew how it ended, although the book is much more detailed than the movie. A lot of things are left out so it's worth reading the book if you liked the movie. I've started on The Girl Who Played with Fire and this one is NOT starting off boring like the first one so I'm excited to dive into it!! Happy reading all! :)

I just got done reading Girl Missing: A Novel by Tess Gerritsen I really loved this book i bought yesterday at walmart and i total couldnt put it down! Great Mystery I think it was one of her early books when it first come out i think it was called Peggy Sue got murder. If you a fan of Tess you should check it out


Now I am reading Fear Nothing by Lisa Gardner So far its seem like its a good book I think i like it better then Catch & Go

I'm also listening to my 2nd John Grisham audiobook The Racketeer . This one is sure not to disappoint based on what I've heard so far!!

I read Bones of the Lost earlier this year. I have really enjoyed all of Reichs' Temperance Brennan mysteries. I also have several other favorite series, including Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and Carol O'Connell's Mallory series.

This is a late reply, but just wanted to say that I love the alphabet series by Sue Grafton and definitely think they are worth reading! I recently finished W is for Wasted and am going into slight withdrawal due to the next book not being out yet! I'm currently reading Kinsey and Me to try and tide me over until the next book in the series comes out :) I also like Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series, however, I think the earlier ones are much better than the later ones. I actually just started her latest (Dust), but haven't gotten far enough to have an opinion of it yet. I would say that Grafton and Cornwell are very different though. If you want light mysteries with a lot of humor (I love that the series remains in the 80s), you'll probably love the alphabet series. If you enjoy forensics and a bit of gory detail, with a strong main character and more of a suspenseful aspect, you'll probably also enjoy the Scarpetta series.

I just started reading The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz. The protagonist, Izzy, has a wacky dysfunctional family so there's a lot of funny stuff. So far it's been entertaining--I've been getting plenty of good laughs.

I am close to finishing up No Safe House that I won here off Goodreads. It is awesome and I highly recommend it!!

Now I need some help on what to read next. I have Confession , Six Years , Into the Darkest Corner , and A Time to Kill all waiting for me in my Nook library!! I also have Remember When as a hardback waiting for me to continue on with the "In Death" series. So many books, so little time!! So, out of these options, what would you suggest I read next?!

I Love Sue Grafton it is light reading and entertaining. I may start Patricia Cornwell.

I decided to go with Six Years by the great Mr. Coben! As expected, this book sucked me in from the start and is only getting better! Looking forward to diving more into this one.

Also listening to Watch Me Die , which is my first book by Erica Spindler. One thing I like about audiobooks is that it gives me the chance to sample new authors and decide if their books are worth investing in. I didn't realize this book was part of a series so deep down, it's driving me crazy not to have started with #1 but it doesn't appear that it's one of those types of series that you would be lost in if you didn't start from the beginning. So far, it's ok... we'll see if it picks up as it continues.
