What are you readin'??
I started reading Fatal by Marie Force , so love it , it was recomended by another reader , I'm addicted x
I am reading "If You Were Here" by Alafair Burke. I like her books and her writing style. So far the book has kept my interest. I will let you know when I am finished.
I finished book 5 of Karin Slaughter's Grant County series, Faithless
and have now started on the very last book of this series, Beyond Reach
. So far, it's great! I can't wait to get deeper into it.
Last week, at the end of our first two week vacation away from home, I finished the six book Sessions and Browning murder mystery series by Gale Farmer. I had previously read Secret Lives
and posted a review on Goodreads. On vacation I read, Firestorm,
, Lethal Intent
, Cold Fusion
, Blind Trust,
, and Something Wicked,
. I truly loved reading all of the six book series.Gayle has a wonderful style of not only writing a mystery wound around the lives of PIs Jim Sessions and Lenny Browning and their efforts to solve a mystery along with their girl friends, twins Ella and Terry, and two guard dogs, Tony and Amy, but also evolving into the most interesting and informative mystery related second stories.
I highly recommend the Sessions and Browning PI mystery series by Gayle Farmer. I will be posting reviews of each of the other books in the series on Goodreads in the near future.
I am reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed. It is a very well written book, but Cheryl is impulsive, reckless, and has very poor judgement; so I struggle with wanting to yell at her!Cheryl Strayed
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
Just finished the sixth book of the fatal series by Marie Force and I cannot wait for the next one,LOVE them and the character's .
I just finished Sworn to Silence, and now I am reading The Light Between Oceans, Still Missing, and Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald. So far they are all amazing!
But her writing is amazing. I also read Tiny Beautiful Things which is an advice column she wrote for a website. It is so fantastic.

I was wondering if anyone was reading any of the three series by Karin Slaughter. The Costco Connection magazine had an interview with her and mentioned the Grant County series, Will Trent series, which has a couple books with characters from Grant County, and then a new series, Georgia Series. I am always on the 'look-out' for a good mystery series.
Anyone else have some thoughts on Karin's series?
I'm in the middle of Terri Reid's Mary O'Reilly series ... Paranormal mystery with romance. Great characters! :)
I just finished reading "ill walk alone", by Mary Higgins Clark, and now I'm in the middle of " no place like home" by the same author... Very good reads both books!!
Wil wrote: "Aiesha wrote: "I finished book 5 of Karin Slaughter's Grant County series, Faithless

Wil wrote: "Aiesha wrote: "I finished book 5 of Karin Slaughter's Grant County series, Faithless

I just finished "Claire DeWitt and the Bohemian Highway." I loved it, and Claire as a female detective in the hard-boiled genre. I'm thinking about checking out J.K. Rowling's detective book, "The Cuckoo's Calling," next. There's a few links on my blog about it: http://womenindetectivefiction.tumblr...Has anyone read it yet and would you recommend it?
I finished book 5 in the Quincy/Rainie series by Lisa Gardner last week. Gone was very suspenseful, however, not the most realistic when it came to the "action" scenes. It was also pretty predictable, which was disappointing but all in all, it was still enjoyable. While I wait for the last book of the series, Say Goodbye, to become available at the library, I am reading Ricochet, which so far, is fabulous!!! This is my first book by this author and I'm LOVING her writing style! I feel like I'm watching a movie as I'm reading. The dialogue and the descriptions are great! I'm quickly becoming a fan of Sandra Brown!!

Hi Vic,
This is a general thread in the reading group to discuss books that members are reading that are different then what we are scheduled to read. We do read James Patterson but only the Women's Murder Club series as the rest of his books don't fit this group.
Thank you,
Pasta :)

About half way through with the first book in the Jack Daniels series, Whiskey Sour. It is really good. I love the main character. Her name says it all!
Hello all. I just finished 'Murder on K Street' by the late Margaret Truman. When I read her books, I feel like I'm visiting with an old friend. Have a J.A. Jance to start this evening. Did not realize that the newest Stephanie Plum was out - have to make a trip to get that one.
I'm one of those folks that reads several books at a time. Here is what I am working on at the moment.
Junkyard Dogs by Craig Johnson This is my first book by him in the Walt Longmire series. My husband and I like the TNT show based on the series so I thought it was high time I read one of the books.
AND
A Conspiracy of Faith by Jussi Adler-OlsenWhich is satisfying my continuing love affair with Scandinavian crime noir. Really long book though but getting pretty darn exciting.
AND
I just started
Blues in the Night by Rochelle Krich
I read mysteries, natch. But mostly inspirational subthemed ones.My favorite author writes historical whodunits set in the mid 1940s on Long Island. I live on Long Island and these novels are completely accurate to the time and place. The covers are gorgeous and they all have a love story, but the mystery is the important thing in the story.
A wonderful Christmas/New Year's holiday read.
There's one more in the series but I haven't read it yet. I will though.
I also like Susan Page Davis.
