Random Offensive Statements

I really enjoyed this book, but I was wondering if anyone else was bothered by the random mean/offensive statements that cropped up occasionally?

For example, he says something to the effect that offensive linemen are the stay-at-home mom's of the football team, everyone says that have a huge contribution, but no one can seem to say what it is.
