just got the windows tented on my truck today and my new sound system installed. I love it!
I was wondering if there was anyone on here that was wiccian? if so message me because I have a question
I am in such a reading rut. I haven't read a book in 2 weeks. I hope I get past it, but its like every book I pick up I will read 100 pages and quit. it's like nothing grabs my attention :(

These are all novellas. Only two longer than 100 pages. Lumberjack in Love is 114 pages, and The Governess Affair is 101 pages.

The Governess Affair and Alpha & Omega are both great.
I think we should have a novella read. So many of us read a lot of books and it's often hard to find time for all the group reads but I think most people could fit in a novella.

I found a local Romance Book Club through meetup.com and I went to my first "meet up" yesterday. It was great meeting other romance readers in the area. The only thing was the ladies normally read 1-3 books a month. I felt a little embarrassed to say that I read 10-20 a month. LOL But it was nice to talk to other readers face-to-face. I had a good experience and I'm very excited to make it to more "meet ups" in the future.

Yeah...it's funny. It would be nice to know someone in real life who reads just as much as us. Yeah, Leea...how did the race go. Did you get a Tiffany necklace? I saw a couple of posts on FB from friends who completed the race.
I know...someone will say, "Oh, I read a such a good book last week!" In my head I'm thinking..."Just one?" LOL
The amount of time I spend reading has increased so much since joining Goodreads. I constantly feel like I'm missing out. There are simply too many books and not enough non-working hours in the day!
I would love to find a reading group where I live. I think it would be so much fun to discuss books in person.
I ended up not running the 1/2, I didn't really get time to train and I had a panic attract saturday night thinking about it. It was bad!! I'm really down on myself today, I regret not doing it but I also knew I couldn't do it.
Everyone has to start somewhere, Leea. That you made it to the starting line in spite of your panic attack is a huge accomplishment in itself. You should be proud of yourself!
Leea I think you made the right decision. I understand the feeling - wanting to do something and regret for not having the time. Your time will come Leea. You have such young kids!
lord I got some distressing news. my cousin in law killed herself last night with her baby asleep beside her. my poor cousin and that poor baby. please remember our family

Oh Vanessa I am so sorry. Did she suffer from post partum depression?
Leea, don't be down on yourself. You do a LOT in your daily life. Sometimes you have to take a step back so you don't overload and there's no shame in that. Love you!I'm sorry to hear that, Vanessa. So tragic.
her daughter is 5 but I believe they had recently diagnosed her as a manic depressive.
I'm so sorry for your family Vanessa. I had a second cousin who was manic depressive and also took her life. She also had a small child and it was so hard to wrap your brain around why she would do that. In the end, she was just sick. Her mind was playing tricks on her and she thought her family would be better without her. She was also a model, very successful. It's just sad.

and to top it all off my father in law says infront of the family that I need to lose weight. I weigh 166 I may be a chunk but my God. my feelings are so hurt then my administrator calls me and I had to end up reporting a fellow nurse. omg I just wish I were in bed with Jamie Frasier right now.
Vanessa, so sorry for what your family is going through. Very sad.Leea, you shouldn't be hard on yourself! With a family and young boys you can only push yourself so far. Running or any activity should be fun and if it isn't then it's time to take a break.
I have a new sister in law and she loves to read! I was so excited! However our tastes vary considerably from one another. Example, my favorite authors are Virginia Henley and Diana Gabaldon. She loves Janet Evonchivic. I went to the store and bought books from her Stephanie Plumb series and that was when I realized how different our tastes were. She is wanting us to form a reading circle together. Do any of you know some books that mat bridge the gap of our differing tastes? Do I need to make a thread about this? Sorry if I asked this in the wrong place, but it seems that random chit chat is the safest place for me to ask questions without breaking any rules or anything like that. But any suggestions would be wonderful! Thanks.

It's a hard one for me because I love Diana Gabaldon and the Stephanie Plum series. (At least up through about book 14, lol.)

The first about 13 or 14 of Stephanie Plum are really excellent. Fun, light, and humorous. I absolutely loved them. After that they start to get repetitive and corny.The Hathaways is this series, just an FYI, it's a spinoff of The Wallflower series by the same author...

Hey maybe Lindsey Sands...sorry wrong spelling of her name...but her books are very funny. Do you think some of those books would work?

How about Jennifer Crusie - Bet Me is her best I think, followed by Welcome To Temptation. She writes contemporary but both very funny and romantic.
Hmmm..I don't think I have heard of her but I will definitely look into her books. Thank you! Perhaps the contemporary romance route is the way to go.
You could always read the first book in the Plum series, it's very funny. You may just like it!
One for the Money is good. I think the first books in the series are pretty damned special. The wheels fell off somewhere along the way and it's a bit silly now but it's worth reading at least book 1.

I think I might have a sinus infection because of the drastic weather changes...2 wks ago it was like 90 and last night it was snowing! Hello global warming!
It's like that where I live. The weather changes constantly, sometimes in the same day. It can be 80 degrees one minute, then snowing an hour later.
Random question here...has anyone ever melted chocolate to make chocolate molds? I'm having problems and need advice. I'm making Lego chocolate for my son's Lego themed bday party in a couple of weeks.
I know, right!? Its killing my sinuses. Last night at work I couldn't even chart because it a voice recognition system and it didn't recognize my voice! I need a z pac or something to get rid of this sinus infection I'm afraid. And what's worse is I love love love fall and it went straight from balls soup hot to freezing. I didn't get to enjoy fall at all. But the cold days do make for a nice reading day by the fire :)
Are you using a double boiler to do it? If you don't have one, you can put a glass bowl over the pot, as long as the boiling water from the pot below isn't touching the bowl.I haven't done it in a while, but there's often some sort of addition to the chocolate in order to keep it from breaking, iirc, some sort of fat or cream element.
Lego chocolate sounds like a cute idea.
I think my problem is not using the correct type of chocolate. The melting part is okay and I'm placing the molds in the freezer to harden. But when I take the chocolate out of the molds, it's melting at room temperature. I've tried Hershey chocolate and the baking chocolate chips. I'm so not good at this stuff but I really would like to give some Lego chocolate for the kids goodie bags.
