Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Powerful, beautiful and tragic photo, Lisa!

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments That picture is both sad and beautiful - Tellulah captured it perfect. Wow Lisa.

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I am heading here for camping tomorrow -- for the week:

It is the Kettle Moraine North Forest in Wisconsin. It has several glacier created lakes and is 30k acres of forest. We are excited and the temperatures will be only in the high 70s and low 80s during they day and down in the 50s at night -- perfect for camping!

message 104: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments Thanks, everyone :) Our local fire dept. contacted me, asking for pics for their station. Guess this goes to show to always have a camera handy. I had my cell phone but it's camera doesn't zoom. Or else I haven't figured out how to use it LOL. The only thing with that is I couldn't see what I was taking a shot of because of the sun's glare on my phone screen.

That is gorgeous country, Regina! Perfect camping vacation location. Hope you have a great time and that the mosquitoes aren't too fierce.

Thanks ladies. :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Kind of fun that your pics got published but it stinks they came about from a bad thing. There's been so many destructive fires this year.

message 108: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments I know, Stacia - am trying to just look at it as I captured images of an event. Now I just got a wee taste of what photo-journalists experience. And how they can get hooked on the adrenaline rush while shooting. That job profession has always intrigued me. Unfortunately, it didn't when I was much younger otherwise I could've pursued it. Maybe.

message 109: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Lisa, it's extremely sad about the fire... so devastating. But your pictures are so captivating.

Regina, looks and sounds like a great place. I'm not a camping kind of gal, but I'd love to see more of this peaceful place.

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) I became a huge fan of Suburgatory right from when the pilot aired. And about a year ago, I wrote a blog post about how great I thought the characters of Dalia and Dallas Royce were.

So today I get this email from a producer at Huffington Post Live asking me if I want to come be on a web panel to help interview Carly Chaikin who plays Dalia. D'uh yes! I'd never done anything like it, plus Huff Post, and I'm still highly excited over the fifteen minutes it lasted.

I am now going to shamelessly drop the phrase "when I was on HuffPostLive" into every conversation for the next week, even if I'm just paying the grocery cashier. :)

That's so cool! We used to watch Suburgatory (great show!) but we had too many shows on the docket. lol!

How were they in concert? I like a few of their songs but I'm curious how they would translate live. Their sound almost seems like it's suited for studio recordings.

Tellulah, that's great! But if I were you, I'd be flaunting the screen-writing thing too. :p

Oh, Stacia. It's the exact opposite. Their albums don't do them justice. They are amazing live! But its helpful to know the lyrics ahead of time. Lol

message 118: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Tellulah - wow! Congrats! Can't wait to hear more of your experience. I'm sure you'll give us the link!

Had a weird couple of weeks... took a bad fall and really banged up my right knee and shin. Still recovering. Haven't been on the computer much lately, so I'm catching up.

message 119: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments Congrats Tellulah! Verra exciting :D

Lori - hope your weird weeks have mellowed and there will be no more of that banging-up to be had! No more, I say! hehe No, really.

message 120: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Thanks everyone! Here's the archived link in case anyone wants to see it. I won't watch because, ugh. Me and cameras. Generally I get away with the excuse of being the writer observer. :)

Leea, hope you're feeling better!

message 121: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments Tellulah - you're the one doing the interview in that clip? I'm guessing that's why you don't want to watch it but if it's you, you did a fantastic job!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments It looks like she's in the google hangout part of the interview, which starts @ around the 4:45 mark.

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) | 108 comments it really is. sometimes nursing isn't worth it because it is all legal not about the patients and its wrong and makes me mad

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments Vanessa wrote: "it really is. sometimes nursing isn't worth it because it is all legal not about the patients and its wrong and makes me mad"

It's so sad. Insurance companies are all about the paperwork and having everything filled out perfectly. It barely leaves any time for the nurses to spend with their patients.

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) | 108 comments your not kidding I use to go in their rooms and sing to them and read to them and now I am lucky to talk to them and it really honestly bothers me and makes me feel like a failure

I'm so sorry to hear that, Vanessa. I have friends and family who are nurses, and they've said it's nothing like they thought it would be. Most people go into it because they want to help people, and it just doesn't feel like it works out that way sometimes.

But you are still helping them. Maybe not in the way you want to, but your attention to detail is helping them get their insurance to pay for their care (some of it anyway,) and it does lessen the financial burden for them.

Yes. I was a helper. Part of the hangout people on the tv screen. :)

Lori (lorimcd) Vanessa - so sorry...

Tellulah - fab job!

message 131: by Vanessa Eden (new)

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) | 108 comments I just want to vent.
there are so many rules I feel too intimidated to even post about a book I read
I came to goodreads to talk about books and instead I am bombarded about posting what, where. its stressful and this was supposed to be fun. I create a topic about a story thread and someone comes along and tells me when to discuss my characters on my own damn thread. I am sad because as soon as I enjoy this website I end up getting it sucked away by someone on this site. I am not talking about anyone or any group in particular, just my experience on goodreads. Knowing my luck I posted this on the wrong thread too.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I'm sorry you feel that way. We don't want anyone to feel as if they're not welcome or can't post at all. I understand that it can be hard with groups sometimes because each group has a different structure and likes to do things their own way which works for that specific group of people.

GR really can be a lot of fun. I hope you don't let a few blips get in the way of your enjoyment. :(

I'm sorry you have to wait so long, Leea. That sucks. But I'm glad the other part is over!

message 142: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Leea, hope you can rest and have some fun with your family this weekend. {{hugs}}.

message 143: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 383 comments That is a long wait, Leea - hope you won't be dwelling on it and be able to enjoy the holiday weekend. Paddle Board Yoga? My gosh, yoga is hard enough on the floor without trying to stay balanced on a floating board! You must be REALLY good :D

message 148: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments ack, SUP might be out of the budget right now - it is $60 a session at the local group by me...and since the bank account is going to take a hit on the 4th when I register for my IM, plus the paying of a tri coach next year...its going to be no fun money basically

message 149: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Wow! I pay $15 a session or I bought 6/$75. I know in my small town I'm get a great deal. $60 is crazy! Even just paddling around is an amazing core workout.

message 150: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I live in DC, so it doesn't surprise me...yeah - I can't wait for my big tri to be over so I can do some fun-stuff - I'm going to take some rock-climbing lessons I think
