Oh damn. I sent the regular ones. I don't really like things that are overly sweet and Tim Tams fall into the too sweet group for me.

lol..I put Louisiana Hot Sauce on ice cream to give it some bite.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments You sent both!

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments Ehhh I dunno - thin mints are nothing like dark chocolate Tim tam's IMHO - they are too pepperminty and thin

I love doing Tim tam slams - bite each end off the star, then suck your coffee through it - delish

I LOVE the dark chocolate Tim Tams. I'll have to try the slam.

Leea | 1437 comments Where can I get Tim Tams in the US? Now I need to try some. Slamming anything with coffee can't be bad, right?

Stacia, I think I read the short, i'll have to go and check. I wanted to finish this series. I just got distracted or read something else.

message 5307: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I don't know if you can get them in the US Leea...I know there is a place in California that sells aussie food, but its really expensive...I get mine whne my mom sends me boxes of stuff

message 5308: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I've never tried tim tams but have read about them in books. I also want to try Walker crisps from the UK.

I'm currently reading The Other C-Word by M.K. Schiller . I read a book by this author a week ago and really liked it. So, hopefully this book will be fun too.

Hey Leea, if you PM me your address, I'll send you a few packets. Just don't tell Jill...she's very protective of her reputation as the #1 international smuggler of vegemite and tim tams. If she finds out she might knee cap me.

Dee wrote: "I love doing Tim tam slams - bite each end off the star, then suck your coffee through it - delish "

Although I believe the traditional Tim Tam Slam the drink should be hot chocolate. lol...it's such a school camp thing...like playing 500 till 4am and sneaking into girls rooms to steal their bras.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Jill's not that bad. She's the one who wanted you to send me golden syrup.

message 5311: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Ian, you don't have to. :) Very sweet to offer.

I'm going to start Roar and Liv (Under the Never Sky, #0.5) by Veronica Rossi , I need to finish this series.

message 5312: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments Stacia (waiting on tomorrow) wrote: "Jill's not that bad. She's the one who wanted you to send me golden syrup."

lol...do you like it? It's not too sugary?
Do you ever eat Oatmeal? The only time I ever use Golden Syrup is on Oatmeal with milk. But when I was in Primary school I took a Vegemite and Golden Syrup sandwich to school every other day.

@Leea, it's no problem. I'm happy to do it, it's up to you. You can buy them from Amazon but they're expensive. Over here they cost $2 a packet....and if I steal them from the lunch room at work, they're free!!!

message 5313: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments lol...I don't steal them from the lunch room at work.

maybe wayyy back when - I only ever did it with coffee - from about 1998 on when I was guzzling it at school...haha

Peggyzbooksnmusic Finished The Ugly Duchess and I enjoyed it more then I thought I would! A fun, witty Historical Regency Romance.

message 5317: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Just finished Redemption Games (John Rain, #4) by Barry Eisler and the author did a fantastic job with the narration. I'm so glad he re-recorded the books because now I can continue the series! (The series was narrated by different narrators and I only liked one of them.)

Now I'm listening to Carnal Innocence by Nora Roberts , an old book by Nora Roberts. Lots of friends have recommended this narration.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Finished Reaper's Legacy (Reapers MC, #2) by Joanna Wylde and my brain hurts. It was a tiny bit better than book 1, but that's not saying much either.

Starting The Mysterious Madam Morpho (Blud, #1.5) by Delilah S. Dawson (yay!) and may start Tempts Me (Every Part of You, #1) by Megan Hart over the weekend if I have time, but I know we'll be busy with the super bowl party on Sunday. I expect us to be snowed in tomorrow though and might be able to read then because here's the view out my front door as of a few hours ago (and we've gotten quite a bit more snow since then).

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Beautiful Stacia. We are facing another winter storm too, likely 10 inches overnight.

I have an hour to just do nothing and I am trying to decide - do I read? Or watch SoA?

message 5320: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 419 comments Nice Stacia. But after seeing snow myself, I'm sick of it.

So Reaper's Legacy wasn't the best.

message 5323: by Ian (last edited Jan 31, 2014 04:42PM) (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I wouldn't mind a bit of snow. Maybe just a bucket. It's hot and muggy here today. I'm just about to head off, sit in a café and read a book.

message 5324: by D.G. (new)

D.G. It's actually 39 today here in NYC! I stopped by Super Bowl Blvd last night...there was so much to do but with big lines and it was too cold for me to stay outside.

It was awesome in NYC today. You actually braved super bowl boulevard? Times square on a normal day is crazy but now I can't even imagine.

message 5326: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I HAD to stop by! I saw the Lombardi trophy from the outside...it was too cold to wait inline!

That toboggan looked so fun! I wish I could have done it.

message 5327: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 419 comments It did look fun. Lol

Leea | 1437 comments Send snow to California... or rather rain. It was 60 today and I was cold. Yes, I know i'm a wimp. ha! That looks beautiful Stacia.

I personally love super bowl for all the commercials. I'll be watching with friends wearing my 49er jersey. lol! I'm rooting for the Broncos this year.

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments That's beautiful, Stacia! I love how pretty snow looks but I just can't live in the cold. I'm a pussy when it comes to the cold.

I went to the Veronica Rossi signing yesterday. She was so sweet. Here's the pic I took with her: https://www.goodreads.com/photo/user/...

I also met Tamara Ireland Stone who wrote Time Between Us (Time Between Us, #1) by Tamara Ireland Stone . Apparently, Veronica and her are really good friends. I asked her a question that was bothering me about the Time Between Us but she didn't have an answer for me since she leaves it up to the reader to decide on how it will work.

I'm starting It Felt Like A Kiss by Sarra Manning ...one of my favorite British romance writers. I doubt I will get much reading in since we're getting ready for our Super Bowl party tomorrow. There's just so much to do.

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday!

Leea | 1437 comments Oh looks like fun Kay! I wish I could have made it. I can't wait for the Authors by the bay event in March :)

You're so cute!! I haven't felt like reading the last few days.

Oh fun! I love both of those authors.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments The group read for February will be the last one of this format. The mods are going to try something a little different in March. We'll let you know soon what we're going to do.

For our last read of this sort, we'll be discussing Queen of Camelot by Nancy McKenzie in this topic. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) I'm reading Forged In Ash (Red-Hot SEALs, #2) by Trish McCallan . It's been about two years since the first book, which was pretty good for a romantic suspense. It has some standard fare, but I like the Native American characters and elements the author has included.

message 5334: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Man, Denver is sucking so far...hopefully they get their shit together in the second half.

I like both teams so I don't mind who wins, but I'd like to see a good game!

message 5335: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I have a 6 pack riding on Seattle winning - so I hope they keep it up ;)

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) I'm rooting for Denver, even tho I have family in Seattle (who pooh-poohed my home team). Peyton needs another ring!

message 5337: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Go Denver. Sending them good vibes...they need it.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Nooooooooooo! Darn it!

message 5341: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments there is a charity in Seattle and Denver who have a dinner bet riding on the winner...the winner gets a local cuisine speciality from the loser - its buffalo steaks vs. salmon I think

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Top 10 Worst Super Bowl Ever :(

message 5346: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments all 10 or just one of them?

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) One. Not sure where it would place within the 10, Ian. This is not the way I wanted to see Peyton end his career. Whether he retires soon or not today's game cast a pall over his success with the Colts. :(

message 5348: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments That just sucked and the even the dang commercials sucked... At least I got to hang out with good friends and drink beer :) Lol!
