I haven't read those before. I'll have to check them out!

Yes I thumbed through East of West at the store and it looks really good.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Only Image Comic I've read anything of so far is The Walking Dead (Lol... How original? Am I right?). I'm enjoying it so far, just finished the second issue.

I'm relatively new to comics.

Nope that's through Panel Syndicate which I believe BKV owns.

I haven't even read Walking Dead yet! My library doesn't have the first set of volumes, which is a shame since I heard so many good things about that series.

BLUE ESTATE - REBEL BLOOD - THE WALKING DEAD - CHEW - SKULLKICKERS - THE PRO - REVIVAL - SUNSET HC - HARVEST - HAPPY! - BEDLAM - NOWHERE MEN - 10 GRAND

Damn, I hardly even know about most of these. Just ordered the SUNSET HC from Amazon, the preview looked very good.

BLUE ESTATE looks good, but only 2 out of the 3 trades are available on Amazon.
REBEL BLOOD... reivews are mixed, some to like it alot, others seem to not.
THE WALKING DEAD, been meaning to get into thses for a while, but "something" is always keeping me back.
CHEW... like the concept, but then again, m'eh
SKULLKIKERS... I dont know, maybe eventually, never was much into the Dungeons and Dragons" style of adventure comics.
THE PRO... maybe, I do like some of Ennis' work... but a foul-mouthed superheroine prostitute? I think I could give this one a pass without feeling all that guilty.
REVIVAL... read the first trade, will probably be getting the second in the hopes that it "gets better".
SUNSET HC... just placed it on order, the art and story look good, BnW, but some of the best stuff I've ever read has been in BnW, hopefully it wont dissapoint.
HARVEST... maybe... after I've read a few reviews.
HAPPY!... ditto
BEDLAM.. double ditto
NOWHERE MEN...who knows? maybe
MANHATTAN PROJECT... tripple ditto?
THE PRO...

SAGA... liked the first trade (even though it does end on sortav a cliffhanger), looking forward to the second trade of this.
I KILL GIANTS... such a great story, that after I read the trade, I just had to purchase the "TITAN EDITION" and give my trade to one of my nieces (she lost her godfather a couple years ago, and i thought she might connect with this story)
INVINCIBLE... although I know these arent the run of the mill superhero stories, I've been weary of trying new cape-people stories lately... except for ASTRO CITY stories, and re-printed "older" material, me and the capes have stopped our love-affair and moved on to being the occasional friends with benefits, heh.
EAST OF WEST... maybe, eventually

...to be continued

message 14: by Paul (new)

Paul | 286 comments ...continued
THE INFINITE HORIZON... bought the trade, liked the story art the art, though the inking and colors could have been much better. Good post-apocaliptic story set in a "believable" environment.
SEVERED... amazing art, inking and coloring... the story was a little cliché and déjà vue but still worth the read.
The DARKNESS... I might try this out one a these days.
THE LIL DEPRESSED BOY... maybe, if they ever collect them into some sort of a nice hardcover... wont be bothering with the trades or the singles though
IT GIRL AND THE ATOMICS... seems strange, might just be my kinda book.
MINIATURE JESUS... ditto, I guess
MARA... you never know, stranger things have happened.
HACK/SLASH... too many trades in, I might have liked this, but right now, the money and time to invest in reading such a large number of trades is somewhat lacking... and I wont read just the "first" one in case I like it too much and end up spending money I dont really have at the time being.
THIEF of THIEVES... yep, be getting this as soon as the 1st 12 issues are collected into a nice hardcover.
BLACK KISS II... hell yeah, soon as the hardcover comes out!
CARBON GREY... the art looks really nice, I have no idea what the story's about though.
FATALE... will probably be giving this a look sometime soon.

all right, enuff's enuff already!

Michael Whetzel | 6 comments I am enjoying:

Saga
Manhattan Projects and anything else Hickman released through Image
Morning Glories (awesome series)

Read the first Luthor Strode trade, and that was pretty enjoyable.

Looking to pick up Epic Kill and Fatale trades soon.

message 21: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria | 10 comments Have read:
Chew - Loved the first trade, liked the second, and I even liked the third... Right until the ending. Put it down and haven't picked up the fourth.

Thief of thieves - Really really enjoyed this! I've even considered buying the single issues so I don't have to wait for the second trade!

Haven't but would love to hear opionions on:
Golly
Battle Pope

HeatherIlene (heather_ilene) I have to echo the sentiments on Chew -- my favorite so far.

message 25: by Paul (new)

Paul | 286 comments One's horror, and although it isn't really meant to be (then again, maybe it is), it's funny as well.
The other is a crime-noir book with a History of Violence / Gran Torino vibe to it.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

i have been getting into some image comics but i am loving chew and the walking dead is still good. Invincible is just great but i love Bedlam and east of west is great. saga is good and i love morning glories. i have 4 omnibuses of hack/slash but still need to read them.

message 27: by Mike (new)

Mike | 289 comments Really like Saga, and I Kill Giants is one of the best comics I've read. Under the Top Cow "imprint", I enjoyed Hunter-Killer and am looking forward to reading the new Cyberforce comic.

Holy hell bud, 2nd issue! You have so much story ahead of you! I wish I could go back and start again (without the knowledge)! The Walking Dead is top notch stuff.
Chew is also fantastic. The artwork and perverse story telling is bold and fresh without taking itself to seriously.

I liked I Kill Giants so much when I read the Trade Paperback, that I just had to buy the oversized hardcover :-)

Warning though... it is NOTHING like Saga, so don't expect it to be

message 31: by 'kris (new)

'kris Pung | 135 comments I Kill Giants is great I also just finished Prophet Vol. 1 and really enjoyed it although admittedly couldn't completely follow the story line.

Thanks for clarifying that Paul. Sorry if I gave that impression Ronyell! I loved both, but they're not even remotely similar.

I Kill Giants really is incredible though, and quite different from anything else I've read. Like Paul, I ended up buying the deluxe hardcover after the trade, something I do very infrequently. The only other double buying I've done are Kraven's Last Hunt (got a signed hardcover after the trade), Town of Evening Calm (favorite manga ever, had to get the hardcover when it was released ;) ) and getting the trades of Astonishing X-Men (Whedon), Planetary and Midnight Nation even though I had the singles.

I got all the trades of Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men. It was fantastic!!!

message 34: by Guilherme (new)

Guilherme Bernardo (guileffb) SAGA, Chew and The Walking Dead.
I'd include I Kill Giants or Invincible, but it wouldn't be fair

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Fatale, Volume 1 Death Chases Me by Ed Brubaker

Saga, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan

I also want to read East of West, Mind the Gap, and Walking Dead.

message 36: by Grace (new)

Grace (fives) | 20 comments I would have to say The Walking Dead, Book One by Robert Kirkman
Because that's the only Image comic I've read.

message 37: by Joanna (new)

Joanna (streetsahead) I recently bought the first volume of Saga, planning to read that this summer. I would highly recommend Morning Glories
Morning Glories, Vol. 1: For a Better Future
Each character has a very unique background and the plot just gets better and crazier.
