I just finished reading Tess Gerritsen's Last to Die (Book 12)
and found the story scary and interesting.

It is sort of. They were high school sweethearts. They were apart for 20 years, but get back together to investigate a series of kidnappings. The whole series takes place over only a few months though. But so far, yes it is a romance with an HEA. Of course if I get to the end of this book and there is no HEA I might go insane. A lot of mystery/suspense and one super duper psycho dude. They are free reads on Kindle Unlimited...I got to take advantage of that for the last four books.
I started Kelley Armstrong's Waking the Witch
on audio last night. I am on chapter 13 and already love it! Savannnah is fun all grown up.

Same for me.
Same for me.
I'll keep that in mind when I start the series. Have to at least give it 2 books before deciding how I like it! Thanks!
Sometimes, that's hard to do...especially if I'm wanting to dnf the first book. But I will apply that rule in this case! lol
Shari Kay...definitely had the HEA! Plus she did a novella on the wedding which was released today. She announced the series will continue with stand alone books...so here I go on another never ending series lol.
If you have Kindle Unlimited these are all free reads. I really liked this aeries. Has some components of In Death (work focused kick ass heroine, awesomely sexy alpha hero, great team building...including a love interest within the team). Big differences are that both H and h are in law enforcement and we are getting babies quick. The main characters are also a decade older than Eve and Roarke. There is even a Lieutenant Roark...but he turned out to be a bad cop so... I really recommend this series, I really enjoyed it. I believe Jonetta is still reading it (she doesn't binge quite as hard as I do) so I don't want to give too much away.
No, The Faces of Evil series. I should be responding to Shari's comments, but am in the app so I can't.
I don't know, Dawn. I'm thinking about starting it & thought it was the series you were talking about. Kris mentioned she was reading book #10
earlier.
Kris - Tell us about the Rizzoli & Isles series, please...

Ah. No, I got hooked on the Faces of Evil series by Debra Webb and, after my usual binge reading technique, had to wait two months for the final book. Then she announced it will continue, with each book being a stand alone. But I think it will be more like In Death in that we will see the team continue to grow, fall in love, marry and have babies. I think this may have started as one of those Kindle weekly installment series.
Sure, Sandra, my pleasure :)Rizzoli and Isles is a series about a Boston homicide detective (Jane Rizzoli) and Medical Examiner (Maura Isles) who work together to solves cases.
There is a TV series based on this but it is very loosely based on the books. The TV series is a bit lighter (think Castle) with the characters a bit different than the novel counterparts (think Bones and Kathy Reichs Temperance Brennan series - tho R&I do stay a bit truer to the books).
The first 3 books in this series blew me away they are so well written and very gritty - reminds me of a mix of Karin Slaughter and Lisa Gardner. It's best to start this series with book one as there will e spoilers in later books. I would characterize this series as suspense thriller with a side of romance.

I've read the first two and you nailed the comparison, Kris.

Jonetta wrote: "I've read the prequel and the first book in the Faces of Evil series. It ROCKS!!!!"I've read a couple of Webb's standalone and enjoyed them so I need to get to this series. Especially when Jonetta puts "rocks" in caps ;)
Jonetta...just wait i til you get to book 10!!! I love that she is going to continue post Spears, even though she is calling them stand alone. Same team, etc. the next book The Dying Room comes out in March. I was disappointed that she stopped putting them on audio after book 5 though. Probably has something to do with the royalty changes Audible made for self publishers.

I've been reading The Case of Charles Dexter Ward which is included in a collection I have: The Complete Works of H.P. Lovecraft.

I'll give a shout out when I start, Dawn. Look forward to discussing them.

I think my library is now out of Linda Howard books. I just finished

Just finished reading

Just finished The Duchess War by Courtney Milan, I really enjoyed it. I'll be starting the Moment We Began by Sarra Cannon.
