Finished listening to Shadow Spell by Nora Roberts (review to come). I enjoyed it but the story structure seemed really similar to the Sign of Seven Trilogy.

I'm now listening to Deadline by Sandra Brown, this month's group read.

I am in the middle of Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness but I could probably take a break and come back to it after. I have it on audio.

I'm loving Shadow of Night, but it does take a long time to get through.

Kirsten (kmcripn) I started/finished Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12) by Julie Garwood by Julie Garwood on Sunday. WOW. It was smokin' hot! I hadn't read her since she was writing the historicals set in Europe. Any one read any of this series? Sure hope the rest of this series is just as good. I can't stop thinking of Aiden!

PS -- did anyone hear that they were going to make a movie of Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1) by Alice Clayton ? Crazy!

I've read the entire series except this one. I think the early books were the best (couple of exceptions). Love the series.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Just finished reading Arcadian Genesis (Alex Hunter, #0.5) by Greig Beck by Greig Beck. It's not that long, a short novella or a long short story, take your pick. But it's a thrilling introduction to the characters and the series. Sort of a Special Forces X-Files.

Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Definitely going to read the All Souls trilogy, Penni. I've had several recommend it.

Dawn | 3250 comments Listening to Close your Eyes by Iris and Roy Johansen. Trying to get into it...

message 2085: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments I need to do what Sandra and Penni do...read a book in a series and then read something else...instead of binge reading through yo the last. I am having withdrawals waiting for the next Faces of Evil book. I think I am giving up on the last Armstrongs and Montgomery's book by Maya Banks...JR Ward and Diana Gabaldon are just starting their next book...sigh. If I end up liking this Kendra Michaels series, I could get into trouble.

message 2086: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
Dawn, I've mostly settled into one book from a series per month on some of the series. And I believe Penni is doing the same. I have a lot of series to keep up with as BRs, etc. Other than the occasional binge, I can't just read straight through some of these series. I have found by reading one or two books from each series every month, I keep them all moving along, fresh in my mind, & still enjoy all of them.

I'll never understand why Maya back burnered this series. It was very popular. I'm with you...don't think the next book will ever see the light of day as she focuses on the BDSM themes.

message 2090: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Jonetta, lol auto correct just tried to change your name to monetary lol. It is the last book in the series, how hard can it be?

Sandra, I just become incredibly obsessed. I know, it shocks you to hear that right? It happened with this series first an just spiraled from there.

message 2091: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
I get obsessed also Dawn & want to binge read series. But I now have so many series started that in order to continue them all, I have to space them out monthly. When I add in MRs & BRs plus some challenge reads, I have to space the series out or give some up. This is working for me right now. Of course, I'm liable to binge at any time! lol

I've actually stopped reading the new MB erotic releases...just not feeling the stories. I'm all for a good emotional romance but not sex just to write sex.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15063 comments Mod
Yeah, I've skipped the last two trilogies.

Dawn, that series was supposed to have five books, minimum. At least that's what she said in an interview two years ago.

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
Me too. Think I read the first book of the first trilogy and thought, Nope...definitely not worth it.

message 2095: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments I need to learn to pace myself. I end up chomping at the bit waiting for the next book. Faces of Evil, my current obsession, ends in December. But now that I am getting into Close Your Eyes...I can see a Kendra Michaels series obsession coming on. Then maybe the Eve Duncan series will suck me in, if I let myself ever read it.

message 2096: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Both Highlander series or just the Armstrong's and Monthomery's? I thought they were both trilogies. So she has stopped at book two.

And it's so much fun when she does binge lol. I've got so many series started and don't want them to mothball like they have in the past so this one a month is helping. Also trying not to start too many new series or reactivate ones that have been languishing until I finish up one. That way I can keep moving through them and keep them fresh enough that I don't lose continuity.

I most definitely have improved, but still have a long way to go lol.

We were referring to the two contemporary BDSM trilogies. Loved the McCabe Trilogy and the Montgomerys & Armstrongs series.

message 2099: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Lol. I have not read any of her contemporary books. I was whining that I don't think she ever plans on releasing the final book in Armstrong's and Montgomery's.

message 2100: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Well, I this Iris Johansen has hooked me on the Kendra Michaels series...good thing is there are only 2 books, so I can't binge it lol
