Sounds familiar, Sheri! Every time I get hooked on a book or series, I burn the midnight oil...into the wee hours!

So Sandra, I just finished Judgement in Death. I loved it very much. I am the opposite----I love when Roarke and Eve have misunderstandings and then comes the making up. I will reaffirm my earlier position. I don't think Roarke was wrong in the book. I won't elaborate here because don't want to ruin this fabulous book for others but I was with Roarke in this book.

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
The dynamics between Roarke & Eve are always fascinating & entertaining to say the least. I loved Judgment and actually thought Roarke was right to get upset in this one.

Finishing up my reread of Portrait in Death. Wow - I had forgotten the intensity of pain & grief Roarke suffers in this one & how he lashes out at Eve & Summerset. Looking forward to discussing this one in our BR thread.

message 1629: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Okay, I will do a quick re-listen because now I can kind of remember the storyline but not the "pain and grief" and that is unacceptable. It has been a while since I did a complete listen and usually I have been just going back over my faves.

message 1630: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments I loooove Portrait. It's still in my top 5 of favorites.

message 1631: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Not my top five, but definitely not by bottom five either lol

message 1632: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15063 comments Mod
*sigh* Definitely in my top 5. So many memorable scenes.

message 1633: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments I am starting to remember more...but Naked, Conspiracy, Treachery, NY2D, and a toss up between Survivor or Judgment for the final spot make up my top five. And the darn books we add, the harder it is to keep my top five consistent. But as I listened to the beginning, I suddenly remembered the end...

message 1634: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments We have some top 5 in common Dawn. For me, it's Naked, Conspiracy, Portrait, NY2D, Innocent (in no order). The last two are wrenching for me to reread though but I think that's what make them my favorite because it gets to me.

message 1635: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Yea, NY2D really gets me. I loved the secondary storyline in Innocent but really really hated the murder mystery. Not sure if it was the murderer or just the whole plot. But it is in my most re-reads because of the secondary stuff

message 1636: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments See? This is what happens when I don't regularly re-listen to this series because I have gotten addicted to other (much less important) series. Okay remembering the pain, grief and why this should be in my top five...but who gets kicked to the curb? Of the angst of it all!

message 1637: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15063 comments Mod
My top 5 (in order)

1. Conspiracy in Death

I've heard a lot about Daniel Silva but haven't read any of the books. Is this a series you would recommend starting?

message 1641: by Donna (last edited Aug 04, 2014 10:07AM) (new)

Donna | 67 comments The Heist is the first book I've read in the series, although it's #14. I'm only a few chapters in, but it seems like it can be read as a stand alone -- I don't feel lost or confused. So far I'm enjoying it.

Since I'm a newbie to the series, would anyone more familiar with the series like to weigh in? :)
