I have really enjoyed getting to know the characters in this series. Tomorrow I think I am going to start The Search by Iris Johansen

How are you liking Enthralled, Patricia?

Patricia Evans (pvevans) | 47 comments Sandra wrote: "How are you liking Enthralled, Patricia?"

I like it. I have read almost all the Breeds series and I enjoy them all. But I have to admit I like the first ones the best, the story line gets more complicated as it goes on and with so many books the secondary characters are getting a bit confusing to keep track of. LOL. I’m still waiting on Cassie’s story, that’s the one I really want to read.

The short stories always leave me wanting more but I like them.

Penni | 816 comments I finished Sixth Grave on the Edge (Charley Davidson, #6) by Darynda Jones which was awesome.

Now listening to Conspiracy in Death (In Death, #8) by J.D. Robb and am a little taken aback I think by Eve's abrasiveness in this one right up front. She has the right heart and values, but things just come out more rough than I'm comfortable with sometimes.

Also reading The Shadow Reader (Shadow Reader, #1) by Sandy Williams which is good so far and trying to finish Black City (Black City, #1) by Elizabeth Richards .

A friend is sending both of these series to me and haven't heard of them and was curious what other opinions might be. I am into mystery suspense type books and curious if these would be series i will like.

message 1287: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Evans (pvevans) | 47 comments Ok so I had forgot that I didn't particularly love Concealed in Death. It's good, and since I love the series I have to read and re-read it. LOL BUT for some reason I get the feeling that everything is off kilter a little bit. Like Peabody is a step off, Mavis is a step off. I wonder if Mrs. Roberts was distracted or nor paying attention close enough when she wrote this book. Nothing seems to line up right with the characters.

Finished it. It was a lot more intense than I expected when I started it. The scope and the emotional intensity on both personal and professional levels was huge.

Will be finishing up The Shadow Reader (Shadow Reader, #1) by Sandy Williams and Black City (Black City, #1) by Elizabeth Richards while I try and figure out what I will be listening to next.

I'm a little scared about the next one. I'm hearing Eve really goes off on that one. So, I'm hoping I don't throw the Kindle through the window.

I really did like the story and the ending on this one. It was one that I really couldn't pick who the killer was as I have in past books. But I wasn't happy with Eve, and even Roarke, at times.

Keeps things interesting though, doesn't it? I like that the series & even characters to some extent are unpredictable and don't always act as we'd like them to. They all have their "triggers" and we learn what motivates them but they don't always react the same. I've never been bored reading one of these books.

message 1299: by Penni (new)

Penni | 816 comments Yes it does. And the character are real to life then right?

message 1300: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
Yes, Penni...they are real to life. Moody, quirky, funny, subdued, vibrant, even the villains - methodical, evil, insane, . . . true to life characters, for sure. Outstanding portrayals and translation to the page by Robb.
