I just completed a giveaway over on LibraryThing where I gave away 25 eBook copies of The Five Elements. This was a little bit of a marketing push since the next book in the series should be out Fall 2013. Too bad Goodreads doesn't host eBook giveaways.
The Five Elements is also the Indie Book Club's BotM for May. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
In any case, I wouldn't mind getting a few more readers out of this thread! Thanks.

If anyone else wanders by here I'm willing to go beyond the 5 initial copies as stated above. I'm also getting away from Smashwords as distribution, so I'll send the files directly. Thanks!

If it's still possible, that is!

I've finished reading the novel and have posted a review. Thank you once again! I enjoyed reading Aaron's adventures (please tell me it's not stopping there, it's only Book One, right?) :3

Yes, this is only book 1. The next in the series should be out in the Oct/Nov time frame (I hate putting an exact date on it, but that's what I'm shooting for). All of the characters are back (except for the ones who didn't make it) and many will get a much more in-depth treatment. Serena, for example, takes on a much larger role and Ensel Rhe's past comes into play big-time. You'll even get to meet his daughter, Jakinda. Stay tuned. :-)

Do you realize what you just made me do? You made me squeal (because I really wanted to know about Ensel Rhe's family but I didn't think I should add it into my review) KYAAAAAA I CAN'T WAIT :D :D :D *I'm so excited right now*
No, it's true, because if you put an exact date, you get kind of more pressured, right? :<
AHHH Looking forward to the sequel :3 [no pressure though! :D ]

The date adds pressure, but also a lot of things are out of my control, like the time it takes an editor, proofreader, etc. to finish. So, I like to keep it somewhat nebulous.
I've got the first draft done at this point, so it's just a matter of getting it polished.

I only use the list to send out notifications about new novels or short stories, so you won't get too many emails per year and occasionally I throw in free stuff. Like, for example, right now I'm giving away two short stories in my Assassin Without a Name series as an incentive.

I can't review but I can post a promo on my blog

Let me know if you're interested

Thanks to those who reviewed.

Oh! This is interesting! Thank you :D *clicks*
Genre: Fantasy
The Five Elements
Book Description:
Aaron—scholar, alchemist, and sorcerer's apprentice—wants nothing more than to study his tomes, perform his experiments, and spend time with his closest friend, Shanna. Substitute the occasional romp about the city for the books and plenty of games of crutchit for the smelly alchemicals, and Shanna is just fine with that, too.
Their routines—and their lives—are thrown into chaos when an elemental attack is launched against their home. Aaron thinks Shanna killed, while Aaron himself is forced to flee for his life. For Shanna, who survives that fateful night, the greatest adventure of her life is about to begin. Only the worst of nightmares awaits Aaron: pursued by dwarves, hell hounds, and a demon who will not stop until he is dead, the only thing keeping him alive is his own resourcefulness and an eslar mercenary whose reputation as a killer might make him the worst threat of all.
Though Aaron and Shanna travel different paths, their purpose is joined when they individually learn of the mysterious Fifth Element. Shanna sees it as the final piece in the puzzle that is her destiny. To Aaron's logical mind, it is an impossible ambiguity. Whatever the answer, the Fifth Element draws them back together and into a final confrontation not as allies, but as adversaries.
