Hi,I'm Shane Etter, author of 2 supernatural thrillers, but I read virtually all good fiction. Historical, thrillers, murder/mysteries, scifi, you name it.
Hi my name is Andrea,I enjoy mysteries/dramas,fiction,romance,thrillers and a lot of t.v. and film:)
Hi, all. I read a lot of philosophy, non-fiction, and I'm a politics junkie - but I write LitFic. Thanks for the invitation, Chris - this looks great!
My name is Louis and I like to read history, biography, mysteries, thriller, historical novels and some westerns. As for movie adaptations, I've decided to take an either/or approach. Either see the movie or read the book. That said, I really enjoyed Lonesome Dove and The Cider House Rules both on the page and on the screen.
Hi all, J.M here. I lean towards fantasy, paranormal, horror and historical fantasy. I don't judge movies from books to harshly as there is never (or rarely) enough time in a move to do any book justice. I see them as completely separate entities. With that said I probably enjoyed the LOTR series the most. I'd love to see a good series from Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar Saga. A movie fore each book...:-DNice to meet you all.
Thank you for the invitation! I love action fantasy, color, movies like OZ, The Three Muskateers, Alice in Wonderland. I love books that hit the heart and almost always YA.
Hello, I write fiction, and I also write poetry. Short stories to date, now moving on up to novella. I enjoy mysteries, thrillers, legal drama, court drama. All sorts really - too many to list here! Big Thanks to Chris for a lovely new Group!
Thanks for the invitation! My first novel, The Unicorn Tree, is YA that is part historical fiction, part maritime, and part ghost story. I like stories set in old houses, like Rebecca and Dragonwyck.
Hello, I am a romantic suspense author and that is exactly what I prefer to read; though, I am sampling other genres as I continue to download more books my growing network of author-friends have written :) Thank you for the invite, Chris!
Hi! I'm Paranormal Romance Author, JD Nelson. I read mostly Adult Paranormal, but also love Young Adult. Glad to be here! :-)
Hey, I'm Georgie. I'm a big paranormal / young adult contemporary fiction lover. Anything that is slightly out of the norm I love. I also like watching a lot of horror films too :). Oh and I'm from the Uk
Hi! I am M.R. Polish, I am the author of Wolf Spell, a YA paranormal romance, and my newly released Ageless Sea, a NA fantasy romance. I love to read all things except erotica and things with robots (huge fear lol). I love to read dragon stories, paranormal (with romance) and historical romance. I love when books are brought to the movies because I love to see who they are perceived by movie makers and love to see my favorite characters come to life. (WOW, I have a lot of 'love' in that post lol)

Thanks for the invite!I'm currently a Londoner, an author and a mad science fiction and fantasy enthusiast. Reading a lot of indie books at the moment and watching FAR too much TV (GoT, Walking Dead...and soon....Dexter & True Blood).
I'm a copywriter and gardener by day and a writer and blogger by night. :D
Hi, I'm Ken. I live in Ireland. It's the land of myths, legends, magic, faeries and leprechauns... which is probably why I love fantasy stories. I love laughing so any funny books are good too. My favourite author is Terry Pratchett. I've written a couple of books which are, guess what, funny fantasies.I look forward to making a few new friends.
Another author here. I write OUT OF THE BOX CHRISTIAN LITERATURE. My first book won the 2012 Selah Award. My second book, a Christmas special, is a bestseller. My third book, a humorous devo is doing well. I recently released a contemporary romantic suspense, Days of Vines and Roses. I am wife of one very patient man, mother of three wonderful children, and grandmother to nine beautiful grandchildren. I am an cancer survivor and count my blessings daily.
Hey everyone! I'm a Canadian indie author and I love reading any genre that sparks my interest. I enjoy the unexpected, twists and turns - whether it be a thriller, historical fiction or modern fiction. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series kept me up many nights and the movies didn't disappoint. I loved The Help on the big screen but am still trying to find the time to read the book. I've read Harry Potter to my kids and watched all of the movies and I must say I am in awe of JK Rowlings mind!!
Family, writing, cottaging and sports are the ingredients to my pretty awesome life! Looking forward to connecting with you all.
Hello! I am an author of Paranormal Fiction/Urban Fantasy and enjoy reading the same (and almost anything else)! I love reading the expansive stretches of a writer's imagination on paper :) I am currently working on my second book in my series and I'm really excited to get to know everyone!
Hi and thanks for the invite, I'm "M. Edward McNally," which makes my name on Goodreads "M." though I actually go by Ed. (waves) I'm primarily an Epic Fantasy writer, but my reading interests are all over the place.
Wow! So many cool people have already introduced themselves. Howdy, everyone! It's so great to get to know new people who love books as much as I do. My name is Mary Elizabeth and I write YA mystery/suspense. My first book is coming out from Delacorte next year, so I'm still very much a newbie in the publishing world.
I like YA (obviously), but I'm also a HUGE scifi/fantasy nerd. Like, from before it was cool. I like some horror and thrillers and the occasional romance, too, but when I'm reading outside YA (or even inside YA) I love me some speculative fiction.
I agree that it's hard to make a good movie from a book. Sometimes TV does a better job, since it has more time to develop character. Some TV adaptations I've liked are True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, and Pretty Little Liars.
Hi, everyone. I write Regency romances for Kensington. My fist book is slowly going on pre-order. The first book releases in mid-September, followed by two others in November and December.I read historical romances, historicals, and suspense.
my name is mandana towhidy, and i'm a writer/author. i wrote a heavy metal novel. i'm working on another novel right now and then i have two more i want to crank out.i also ate like 20 chocolates last night...

Hello my name is Greta and I thank you for the invitation to join this group. I am an author and have three books in my "Patchwork Dog and Calico Cat" children's series, two books in my "Wee People" MG/YA series, and a non-fiction book entitled "Heartaches and Miracles" relating my experiences with an autoimmune blood disorder called ITP.
I am looking forward to interacting with everyone.
Hi Everyone, I'm a hybrid author - traditionally published for years and now an indie. I write thrillers/legal thrillers both stand alone books and the witness series. Currently I'm reading Carl Haaisen (love him), some nonfiction (Garden of the Beasts most recent), and thrillers of all sorts. I'm a HUGE movie goer and like any zombie movies, action adventure and drama. Adore comedies but I'm still stuck in the Cary Grant romantic comedy era not so much The Hangover. Live in Southern California. Love to travel. That's about it. So great to find this group.
Peter Prasad, failed Zen poet, writing Sonoma Knight: The Goat-Ripper Case. Followed by Gurl Posse & Fast To Disaster. All this year. Any chance I can win John Dolan's hat?
Hello everyone. Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm no longer a spring chicken but I try to kid myself I'm still in the first flush of youth which lets me enjoy the tough physical action in my reading. Crime/thrillers, WW1 and WW2, but I can also immerse myself in submariner stories or tales of the tall ships and even historical fact/fiction. I write too. My two published novels are a mixture of historical romance, myths and legends and a hint of
crime too. I'm about to publish another story which is a thriller involving terrorism.
Hello! I'm Courtney. Thank you for the invite! I read pretty much anything that grabs my attention - fantasy, paranormal, scifi, thriller, mystery, horror, romance, YA, etc. I think you get the idea.I'm looking forward to connecting with everyone!
Glad to be invited. I'm Anthony Neil Smith (call me Neil), crime novelist. I live in Minnesota. So...yeah, that's that.
Peter wrote: "Peter Prasad, failed Zen poet, writing Sonoma Knight: The Goat-Ripper Case. Followed by Gurl Posse & Fast To Disaster. All this year. Hello =) My name is Heather & I'm a book blogger/reviewer. I like reading mainly YA genre but if it's got a ghost in it, I'll read it, haha. I'm willing to give everything a try except erotica.Anyway, my blog is here: http://themisadventuresofatwentysomet...
Peter wrote: "I ain't gunna prise nuthin' but you can share a link, ya think? Sweet kiss, hatty man. Diggity, you write spooky fine."That's my boy! Hope to see you on the Thrillers and Mysteries threads, and maybe throw in a Haiku or two along the way?
As for links - you can have any link you want, so long as it's not the missing one.
Anthony wrote: "Glad to be invited. I'm Anthony Neil Smith (call me Neil), crime novelist. I live in Minnesota. So...yeah, that's that."Hi Neil! I hope we'll see you on the Thrillers and Mysteries threads, and we promise not to hold it against you that you live in Minnesota. In fact, we never need mention it again ...
Jambo everyone! I just had a whole heap of fun reading your hellos... A fear of robots, bless you! And cottaging as a hobby... what, exactly, is cottaging?!I read just about anything but I particularly like stuff that's a bit different. And incorporates something from the rest of the natural world other than just humans. But I prefer real stuff rather than werewolves and zombies and that.
I don't watch really watch TV - mine's in a cupboard. But I did recently discover Breaking Bad and devoured five and a half seasons in about a fortnight streamed from Blinkbox (sorta like Netflix). I do watch a LOT of films and was totally blown away by Ang Lee's incredible adaptation of Life of Pi (one of my all time favourite books). I heart Richard Parker.
I'm a writer too - published three novels and a book of short stories to date - all contemporary fiction.
Looking forward to reading with you all!
On my way home tonight I downloaded -
'How to Get Filthy Rich in Asia'
'Life after Life'
and pre-ordered 'The Rosie Project'
All look very promising!
Anthony wrote: "Oh, I'll mention it. I'll mention it a lot. Like, you know, Minnesota."Actually, Minnesota is one of my favourite places. No, wait. That's a lie. I must stop doing this.

Hi Helen. Cottaging? Hmmn. OK, think George Michael and tabloid newspapers. Are we getting warmer yet?
Looking forward to talking booky stuff with you!
Yeah, you see John that's exactly where my mind went. But given that it was all wrapped up like this, "Family, writing, cottaging and sports" - I'm thinking we're wrong, right? Megan needs to set us right here methinks...

We probably need more clarification before I dig an even deeper hole and become the shortest-serving moderator in Goodreads history ...
