Lynn - Should I set up a thread for The Next Time You See Me for Sept 1st? Or 5th?
Virginie - Which date works for you for The Hidden Ones? Would you like to start on the 1st or would a little later work better, maybe the 10th?

I think the 10th sounds good.
Sounds good. I'll set up a thread.
Lynn - Can you add The Hidden Ones on Oct. 10 to the calendar when you get a chance? And pick a date for The Next Time You See Me. :)

Hi everyone! We are planning to start something new with our buddy reads in January! We will be having a poll to incorporate some of the finalists from the GR Choice Awards and reading them as buddy reads. Keep your eyes out for updates. Details should be posted by the end of December.
Absolutely, Sandy! You can either jump in on one that is already planned or suggest a book and request a buddy. We have Station Eleven beginning Jan 1st. Link to the discussion is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
For anyone that would like to join in the poetry buddy read for a Goodreads Choice Award nominee in February, you can now vote on which book to read. Poll is here: Poetry BR poll
Still time to vote for the book you'd like to read for the Goodreads Choice Award nominee buddy read, if you're interested in the poetry category. Poll closes January 12th.
My copy of A Cold Legacy
has arrived at the library and I will be picking it up Monday or Tuesday. Who wants to do a buddy read with me???

I love my library! They are so good! Especially when you consider I don't live in a big metropolitan area.
The poll for mystery & thriller nominee buddy read will be open tomorrow (Feb 1st)! Link to the poll is here. I'm excited for this one. There are a few on the list that I'd like to read.
Poll for the April Humor buddy read opens tomorrow! Link to poll: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Kristie wrote: "Poll for the April Humor buddy read opens tomorrow! Link to poll: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1..."That's going to be a hard choice.
Jim Gaffigan makes me laugh so hard my stomach literally hurts after seeing his shows. Hoooooooooooooooooooot Pockets!
I've watched My Drunk Kitchen on YouTube for years. It's hilarious and and Hannah Hart is awesome.
Daily Grace - Again, the YouTube... I have a problem.
I adore B.J. Novak from watching him in the US version of The Office and also from Saving Mr. Banks <3
And then there's the book about wanting to punch people in the throat... I actually just noticed this for the first time. I can relate to this title (on occasion).
Hard choices ahead!

I love Hannah! I've never really got the fascination with Grace though.

Good luck choosing, Ally! At least you have several options, so that if the one you pick doesn't win, you may still want to join the read. :)

The GR choice awards nominee buddy read for April will be Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography. Link to the discussion is here
Hi everyone!! We have two different Goodreads Choice Awards winners to read in May, so we have two categories to vote on for our nominee buddy read, as well! The categories this month are Nonfiction and Graphic Novels & Comics. Please click on the links to vote in the polls, but please remember to only vote if you plan to read the book you vote for if it wins. Polls are open!
Also, remember that you can always use this thread to request a buddy read of any book that you'd like to read and discuss with others that we are not already discussing (or have scheduled to discuss) as a group. Happy reading!

Sometimes I vote because I want to read the book . . . whether I end up participating . . . I do always have the best intentions! (So many books, so little time!)

Puddle Jumping, heard some great things about it. But then I've also heard good things about I'll Give You the Sun, so I'll be reading both.
Oh, yes. All of my GR friends that have read that one have rated it 4 or 5 stars. I look forward to seeing what you think of it.
If anyone is interested in buddy reading a horror nominee, you can go vote for the book you'd like to read in November. https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Hi Mary! Buddy reads are books that you want to read, but want someone to read with you. So, you suggest a book that you'd like to read and ask if anyone would like to read it with you. Then, you decide on a date and we open a discussion thread. Anyone can join in the discussion.
We also have our Goodreads Choice Awards buddy reads. For those, we post a poll of all the books that were nominated in a certain genre for the award. Then, anyone interested in reading one of the books can vote for the book they'd like to read. We then open a discussion thread for the winning book and anyone that chooses to participate can discuss.
Our choice awards buddy reads for November are I'll Give You the Sun and (most likely) The Girl with All the Gifts. Discussion threads will be available and anyone is free to join.
If you have another book you'd like to read and discuss, please feel free to request a buddy read in this thread.
