Immy | 2 comments Hi Joe, I absolutely LOVED More Ketchup than Salsa, & it was pretty obvious early into the book that you weren't a mere fish-seller or barman - your writing skills were just too good. Then at the end I read you were a travel journalist, & the penny dropped. When did you hone your skills? Were you a graduate before you became a fish seller, where your opportunities were on hold until after you sold the bar? Or did it come later in life? Cheers, Immy

Hi Immy
Thanks for the kind comments.
I kind of fell into writing. Had no inkling of any penmanship before or during my time in the bar. It was only when we sold that I started tinkering. I used some of the proceeds from the sale to finance a bit of travelling and decided to write about it when I got home. To cut a long story short, an opportunity fell my way and I ended up as a freelance travel writer for The Sunday Times. Since then, I've done nothing but writing and consider myself extremely lucky.
