 48 Hour<br />Puzzle Crazy

Cool Text: Logo and Graphics Generator

We've had the addition of a few new Teams,
Who are also sharing our TTRC dreams.

It only seems fair they should get a chance,
at all those puzzles that hold you, as well as entrance.

But I don't want to leave you out of the fun,
so you'll get an opportunity, too, at those NOT done.

I'll give extra hours to Banana Mania, Forest Green, and Pewter & Cadet Blue,
who also has a lot of members who are new, too.

Still, all the rest of you are granted forty-eight.
“Rev Your Engines!” to get a running start at the gate.

I've given you some important links below.
Remember, there are more links in Post #1, to the puzzles, you know?

Okay, 48 hours to you, and 72 hours for the Teams that are new.
I'm excited! Let me see how many cupcakes you can accrue.

Oh! By the way, your time starts now!
Stop reading this and get working. Holy Cow!

Here is where to post!

Depends what you're looking for. ☺

I didn't do much audiobooks. So far they were only from this series: In Death and Jack Daniels Mystery. Narrators are great in both of them. Oh, yeah. I did listen to part of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Jim Dale version). ☺

And have a nice trip. ;)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I'm not a Hobbit, and I'm not a huge fan of audiobooks (I struggle to pay attention haha)... but I've heard that the Dresden Files audiobooks (narrated by James Marsters of Buffy fame) are great books ot listen to the audio, thanks to Mr. Marsters awesome voice acting.

I also enjoyed bits and pieces of Wizard's First Rule in audio (I attempted to listen at work when I couldn't read, and then pick back up where I left off with actually reading once I got home)... but beware, those books are long!

I started listening to Storm Front, but discovered I was in the middle of the book and have no idea what's happening. I decided to read it (still waiting in line...). Marsters did good job, I just wasn't paying enough attention. :D

message 1420: by Dee Gonzalez (new)

Dee Gonzalez (chacho65) Okay..thanks for the tips. I'm not a huge audio booker either I've only listened to two and it made me want to read the actual book..but we will see..

message 1421: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments That my biggest problem -- I don't do well listening to others read me things. If they're just talking, sure, I can pay attention... but my mind shuts down when someone reads to me, because I can read it faster than they can read it to me! X)

I'll end up doing something else while I listen, and realize that a chapter or two has passed and I don't recall a single detail!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Dee, ♥audiobooks♥! In looking at your bookshelves, it looks like you like mystery and history. I'm going to recommend:
Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb - narrated by the amazing Susan Ericksen

Seabiscuit An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand - narrated by Campbell Scott

Master and Commander (Aubrey/Maturin Book 1) by Patrick O'Brian - narrated by Simon Vance (still working my way through this one, as it is in the car)

I see you have The Eight by Katherine Neville on your TBR shelf. I haven't tried it, but I've heard the narrator, Susan Denaker, is very good.

Same with Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell on your TBR shelf. It has multiple narrators: Scott Brick, Cassandra Campbell, Kim Mai Guest, Kirby Heyborne, John Lee, Richard Matthews

I got Count of MC as audiobook from library, but I just couldn't follow it so I went back to ebook. It's interesting. I have to be honest and say I didn't expect it to take so long (not pages, time) I did get good part of it those days I was without internet. ☺

Family Man is soo sweet. I loved it. Total opposite of Market Garden ☺
Tangled was interesting. Funny. I had to stop myself few times so I wouldn't go and ask my brother if what guy does/says is true.

Adrien English - yeah I couldn't figure out fascination either. I've read Holmes & Moriarity first and liked it much more although people said it's shadow to English. If nothing else, I was laughing hard on first H&M book (I have little weird sense of humor and guy just nailed it.)

As unofficial Hobbit expert on Agatha Christie (☺), can you please tell me if I need to read Poirot in order?
I could use one of higher numbered books in one challenge, but I don't want to read it out of order if there is mentioning of previous cases/books in them.

message 1441: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Tea, you don't really need to read them in any order. There isn't a ton of character development throughout the series, and I don't recall any novels spoiling others.

There are a few recurring characters that show up occasionally that if read out of order, you might wonder why they seem familiar with the main characters, but it never affects the story in any real way.

When I first read her books, I read them all in random order, as I found them, and didn't feel like it lessened anything at all. :)

LOL!!!

I haven't been reading in order. :D Only thing I recommend is not to begin with The Big Four. Begin with one like Orient Express or any other ones. :D There is no mention of previous cases that I have seen.

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Oh great! I've pressed wrong button and deleted previous post

My 'problem' with Orient Express was that few days after reading it for first time, I was boarding a train in Belgrade and traveling home. And got stuck in the snow few hours later. ☺

Melissa (ladybug) | 1048 comments LMBO!!! That would really bring the story home wouldn't it?

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments Tea, I agree with Steven. I am an Agatha Christie fan and own almost all of her books. Although I am usually a stickler for reading series in order, there is really no need to with these. Sometimes mentions of things from past books come up, but they do not affect reading the book.

If you ever watch the TV shows and movies made out of the books, David Suchet makes the best Poirot in my opinion. I will watch those ones over and over again.

Those and Midsomer Murders I could watch over and over again. But sadly, I can't count them as read books for challenge.
