If you scroll down towards the bottom of The Lost Challenges home page, there is a link to the event and you can see if you were invited and rsvp if you didn't get an email. That's where I went to confirm before thinking about checking my email.
Thanks for that Turtlecollector.... I hadn't got a RSVP either, but have done what you said, and replied now.
If everyone could check or re-check their email for the RSVP that would be great. If you check and you still can't find it please let me know as soon as possible and I'll make sure Dawn knows.

Ok, all I am back in the world of technology. It was a little weird to go 2 days with no cell phone or computer. I am going to start through all the questions. If I miss something let me know.

For an individual to claim an item they must find a clear picture on the cover, the word in the title or in the text of the story.
The team will not get a point for the item until all the members of the team have the item. So if there are 5 members on a team and only 4 people have claimed that point you don't get the point until that last member claims it. So a team may have found 30 total items, but still only have 2 points.
Make sense?

There will be no separate thread for captains to post in. It made it too hard to tell where teams were with out knowing if 3 of 5 had the point or not.

The 'acknowledgements' section in the front of the book written by the author specific to that book would count. A 'About the Author' section which is usually written by someone else does not count. Previews for other books contained in your book don't count.

I am going to go check the RSVP's now. I am not sure why notifications didn't come in GR. I am sorry, I thought they would. I will put a ⁂ next to your name in the sign up list on page 1 once I've seen that you are committed to the challenge and I will know to put you on a team. I will be sending Pm's to those I don't mark off, and hopefully by tomorrow night we will get teams.

Ok, teams are posted. Here is what you all need to do now. 1. Introduce yourself & get to know your teammates.
2. Decide if you want to keep the name given or change it.
3. Pick a captain. The captain is in charge of making sure I don't miss anything on the point spreadsheet and checking in if a member goes MIA, and general team motivation.
4. Talk strategy if you want and get ready for Friday's draw.

There are 4 members on most teams one with 5. So for the bonus items two members will get you 1 point while the whole team will get you 2 points.

I read the above in the first post that you can claim four items per book how does that work?

Review:
A great read! This is my third Koontz book and I haven't been disappointed, yet. I would have never thought the words "fiddle broke" could break my heart and make me cry like a baby until this book. You must read this one and when you get to the point I am referring to, come back and let me know how you reacted. Koontz makes his characters come alive, you would think you knew them in real life. And the dog, Einstein, is one that I will never be able to forget.

The thing to remember is you only HAVE to claim one item, the one that is called. But you can claim 1 from each category per week. So that is where the other 3 items come in. In the early rounds it is pretty easy, but near the end stratagey and luck come in to play. You may have all of one category and not need to claim it, or you just can't find 4 items you still need in a book. It is not required to claim 4 items each week, but in the beginning it will help your team the most.
New this round is the bonus item, so technically you can claim 5 items each week if you post your review before the next item is drawn.

So as captain we just need to verify the points posted are correct. Once a week should we post in our thread a weekly wrap up of points would that help? Also is there a certain time once a week we should check the points?

However, realistically with real life it won't be an everyday thing. I will have points updated before I post the new item at the latest. So Friday would be a good day to check up on me.

I am checking in and updating names and captains now. Also creating the spreadsheet so the link to it will be up tomorrow. I forgot to post a 24 hour update so here is a 12 hour update so you can compare time zones. It is "about" 12 hours from when the first item will be called.
Dawn, Team Slate needs a name change too - we want to be "Crazy Cat Ladies", because we already are that, lol. And I am captain for the team.
