So you can do a little pre-planning, but you never know which item will be called for that week
I love the new twist, Dawn! Can't wait for the challenge to start :)

I haven't decided if the bonus items should be a surprise or if I should select a list of them to post ahead of time. They are all listed in hte archives though.

Here is what my understanding is: each week 1 word from the item list is called plus a bonus Item which has to be found in your book choice. Plus each team member is also allowed to find up to 4 more words from the item list(including the word of the week) and to get credit for your finds you have to rate and review your book by the end the week, did I get the general idea of the challenge?

I've spent most of today going through my books I want to read and checking for words... waiting for the Bonus words now! Thats going to be fun!

It's been good, busy with work and in-laws.I was just thinking today about the teams for the next round, I loved our team last round, how great it would be if we're on the same team again!
Ah well, we to make new friends if we aren't! But yes it would be great!Busy is good, keeps us out of trouble!

You've got it but just to clarify a few points. the word of the week will be one of the 40 posted. You must claim it and 1 other item from the 3 other catergories. So a total of 5 items a week one of which must be the word of the week the option of the bonus and then 3 from non called catergories. In example if Cat is the word called you can't also claim wolf that week it has to be from a diferent catergory.
To get normal points you don't HAVE to rate and review by the end of the week. If real life happens and you don't finish it is ok, but your team won't get points until you finish. But to get the bonus point you HAVE to review before the next item is posted.

Ok all, I am going to send everyone that signed up an final RSVP. This is to make sure that everyone who has signed up is still able to fill the commitment to the challenge. This is a team challenge, and others are relying on you.
I am out of town this weekend and don't think I will have internet access. So if you have a question go ahead and post it, Lizz and Jennifer can probably answer it or I'll be checking in Sunday night.
I'll give everyone until Monday to RSVP and teams will be posted Tuesday morning and the first item posted Friday.

The item that has been called for the week has to be claimed by all the members of the team before they receive the point for that word. You don't have to have the book read by the end of the week but your team can't claim the point until everyone has posted for that word. But with the new twist your team can't claim the bonus word point unless all the team(for 2 points) or half the team (for 1 point) posts before the next item is called.
If you use an item that is mentioned in the story you must provide the sentence that has the item in it and the page #, Kindle/Nook location or the time on an audiobook. I'm pretty sure you can use the cover of the book for the item but I'm not 100% sure so Dawn or Lizz will have to claify.
How is it going to work for claiming points this round? Will it be like last round where a team captain claims the points, or like the previous rounds where someone verified the threads (I think?)
I seem to remember that covers/titles do NOT count, but acknowledgements DO. And the 'About the Author' does NOT count. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

We used covers before Alana,didnt we?, like with colour? Im sure that was this challenge?

Yes they have Carrie I will let Dawn know but she is away for the weekend so it will be Monday before she will know :)

i got an RSVP but it went to my e-mail instead of here, where i was expecting it, i only saw it today.

Thank you, but you don't need to now. I looked in my email where others said they got it that way and it was there.
I just checked my email last night and didn't get one. Still count me in please! From what I could see in the feedback thread from last round... Not too many people were fond of the team captain turning in points part so I thought dawn was going to go back to her former method. In the last round we were able to use titles and covers.
I forgot to ask will the bonus items be posted in advance?
got no rsvp here either.....but I want to confirm that I wish to play.GR may be having trouble with setting up events....I had trouble with another event in another group earlier....Maybe it is site wide?
I didn't get a rsvp here but found it in my email.
