YA sci-fi, passengers of spaceship in stasis /s

I read it 3-6 years ago, It starts out with this ship landing on a strange planet and the passengers coming out of their stasis pods. Tiny meteorites had pierced the ships hull and killed some of the passengers. A woman that had been pregnant while in stasis somehow how had the kid and now it was some freaky parasite thing. SPOILERS: (view spoiler)[ Some kind of weird burrowing worm thing gets into this guys leg, so they cut it off, but not quick enough, it kills him. I think they decide to leave the ship and travel. They discover they aren't actually on a planet, but in a huge mothership with various 'habitats' and maybe being used for some kind of experiment? (hide spoiler)] It might have been the first of a series, but I never got to the sequels(s). As you can see, I remember a good chunk of the plot, but I can't seem to find the title or author anywhere. Any help is appreciated.

could this be one of K.A. Applegate' s remnants series I think this is the second book. Destination. Unknown

That's it, thanks! I had no idea it was the second book of a large series, that probably would have helped my search.
