message 201: by Anas (new)

Anas Abdelaal (anasabdelaal) | 1 comments I very much liked the book 'The Alchemist'. But a question that keeps running in my mind is, how did the author get the idea of the book? And how can someone leave his life, for searching of a treasure, that might not even exist? Does the author tell people by the book to run after their dreams, all the time?!
And, why really can't people open up their minds for things that was never dreamt of?? As mentioned in the book, one can communicate with surroundings, each move is a communication that's not understandable by people, but who open their minds would even at least try to.
My last question can be, how can someone who's first language is not english improve his language?? Like, can Paulo suggest some of his books which can help in increasing English standards..?

Anand Kumar | 1 comments Hi paulo
I want to know how do you decide that story should end here? why not taking it further, as a story has multiple dimensions, how do you put an end all at one point.

message 203: by DuskRose (new)

DuskRose | 1 comments I did read many f your books and I love them I have been always meaning to ask what is it that inspired you to write ?
And what is it that helps you arrange your ideas?
And what is it that inspired you to right eleven minutes ?

And thank you!

message 204: by Tony (new)

Tony Espino Hi Paulo,

My name is Tony, and I just have a simple question. Do you have any plans to come to the Houston, Texas, USA and when?

Thanks

message 205: by Fernando (new)

Fernando Tello | 1 comments Hi Paulo,
Yestreday I was watching an interesting a documentary called: "The game of the death" it was about the power of television. And I was wondering, what do you think about this topic? I mean, the television. In your opinion, what kind of programs the networks must produce in Latin American?

message 206: by Christopher (new)

Christopher Chilton | 1 comments Dear Paulo Coelho,

I wanted to ask you two questions:
What did you hoped to achieve with your writing?
How have you changed and evolved as you developed your topics and writing ability?

Many thanks

Chris

message 207: by Salma (new)

Salma My question: which book do you feel you've written best and makes you proudest?
And thank you for your wonderful books; The Alchemist is a personal favorite in my personal library and I can't wait to read more of your works!

message 208: by Razan (new)

Razan (razana) Hello Paulo,

First I want to ask you, what is " life" in your perspective? And how do you know you are on the right path?

What is inner peace?

How do you get inspired writing a book? Do you have any struggles?

And last, how can you get someone to be interested with reading?

Thank you

message 209: by Felicia (new)

Felicia Gonzales (felicheeks) | 1 comments In my times of despair during my depression, this book gave me hope and inspiration. I want to thank you for that. Your book was part of our "Book of the Month" in our book club and came highly recommeded. What happened to the Englishman left in the Oasis trying to produce gold out of plumbum via Alchemy? There's no telling of his success or failure...will there be a sequel?

message 210: by Sheroz (last edited Mar 28, 2013 08:27AM) (new)

Sheroz Sanober (sherozsanober) | 1 comments I love your books. What inspired you to write Aleph as i could not understand the basic concept of meeting people in future whom you have met in previous life. Please correct me if i could not absorb the idea. Meditation can be one way to see future and past in current life. Do you believe in more than one life?

My question is, Paulo, is how do I keep the faith in a better future when everything around you is falling apart, when nothing, absolutely nothing, gives you hope.
How do I keep on going??

message 243: by Marilena (new)

Marilena Varveraki | 2 comments I read The Alchememist when I was 14 and when I'd finished reading it, I was like "What?! Who am I? Where do I go? What do I do?". Now, after 2 years, I have this question. What if someone, towards his realisation of his destiny, just loses his interest for it? I mean, what if he stops wanting it? Is that even possible? Or is it just another test? And how can I learn to listen to my heart? I want to but every time it seems that I only listen to my mind (and it always sells me out). Is it because I haven't learned to trust my heart? How can I do it?

Also, are you going to answer to all these questions?

I've been totally amazed at the start of my reading journey by your spiritual yet inoformative writing.

And my questions are:

Did you see all that coming? "I mean the huge success and all", and were you able to keep your life pace as is? your faith, spirituality, calmness? and what were the biggest challenges you faced before writing your first book, during and after?

Thanks a lot :)
