I've read 33. And seem to have 7 vague ones (currently reading, left unfinished previously, or hastily read with little recollection).

Only because I got lucky and two or three of the years group reads were new releases I’d already read. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I am never going to get to them all.
There are some I have less than zero interest in. I try to read at least 30 books a year though so that I sloooowly creep up on the shelf, and Kim and Hank, our current leaders. I don't want them to see me coming! Nobody tell them!

Ha! You might want to work on your ninja skills :) I think Coralie is ahead of me, I just crossed 250 and am shooting for 20/24 every year.

It has been fun reading as many as I can. So many of them I would not have picked up without it being a selection. Of course I haven't loved all of them but the gems that pop out are more memorable because that.
For me the true value is seeing how many different reactions to the books there are, even the ones that are wrong because they disagree with me ;)

I am trying to pick back up. Right now I am sitting at 216 of the groups read, and I'm halfway through book 217.
I didn't realize there was a club with goodies or special seating. And, a competition to catch Kim and Hank? Maybe I can gain momentum with the remainder of the year. ;)
Haha welcome back, Valerie! Since you missed the first treats, you can select the next round ^^
Also, here's RL footage of me trying to catch up to Coralie, Hank and Kim:

Not embarrassing, Lonnie! Exciting! Think how many new things you have to explore--things you can almost guarantee someone in group will discuss with you, if you so chose!!

LOL! Super cute.

Ooh! Wonderful! I'll go ready the bubbly ^^ 🥂🍾

aha, thanks for telling me. Runs off to add points to the Time Travel Challenge and add it to my List of Club Books read. And Another Wells book as well.

Since there's no way I could read all 24 selections and more over and above that in any given year, I'm sinking forever. But I'll join the 100 club and get my choco award one of these days! :D

Thank you. But I feel like I've let the team down. :(

If you'd like, I can make sure you only have black licorice in your section of our make-believe book-clubhouse until you make it up.
You could also just live your best life, I just want you to feel comfortable with the result.

Your licorice is much softer, in both terms of flavor and consistency than ours. Ours is sort of like if you bit into a star anise and it was the texture of a shoe sole. Some people still like it, but then, some people juggle geese.

Of course you do -_-
Blech! *goes to inhale peanut butter to get the imaginary scent of licorice out of her nose*

Those are perfect for when you need to get your entire yearly salt ration out of the way with a single piece of “candy”.

ETA: we do call Katje by the nickname for a French 4 wheel drive vehicle: Quart-Quart (pronounced like kaat-kaat). Needless to say our US vet thinks we're weird
lol. I think vets must be used to it. My cats use my spouse's last name, so I get emails about (not his real last name, but for the effect) "Elessar and Lilith Jones" And when we're mad at them we use their full names (Elessar Elfstone Jones and Lilith, Mother of Monsters, Jones)
Also to get back on track, I'd like to thank everyone for selecting books I've already read for the shelf this year, you're really pushing up my numbers. I think I'm now at 125 or 128 if you include DNFs.

haha! Thank you for the local medical reminder! And while we always appreciate people who join in on monthly reads, we also completely understand that availability, interest and time are limiting factors. That you have that many books despite the obstacles is awesome! And, now you have so many as options if you ever get stuck for ideas ^^

Good to know. Next goal: reach Allison's number ;).
Even though this year about half the time my gut feeling and the group votes were on different ends of the range, I still have the long term goal to read at least 90% of the group shelf.
