Adam Gutschenritter (heregrim) | 121 comments I am probably the only one, but this book reminded me in a lot of ways of Cloud Atlas. Both books took a very personal approach to the end/apocalypse (although in Cloud Atlas you don't know or see why it happened). Both stories also had strong interconnecting of the main characters. I loved reading it in Cloud Atlas and I almost loved reading it more in Station Eleven as this connection to Arthur and Dr. Eleven both drove and tied the individual character plots giving hope or pain or fear as each character was effected by their past.

Joanna Chaplin | 1175 comments There's a couple of books I've read lately that have things in common with Station 11 but weren't quite the same thing. Muse of Fire by Dan Simmons was also about a traveling Shakespeare troop, at what might be the end of humanity but that one had a much stronger scifi element to it (aliens!). I recently read halfway through The Time Traveler's Wife, which had a very similar feel of using a traditionally scifi concept to explore the connections between people and loss and fragility of our way of life.

Art | 192 comments I also felt some similarities to Could Atlas, especially in how things were connected and the different times.

Cameron Parrott | 4 comments It reminded me more of Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank. Just updated with our current things and slang and without a war.

Man it has been years since I read that book. You are right, I was very Alas, Babylon in plot.

Sandi (sandikal) | 1212 comments I think it was more like Earth Abides. The end of civilization is due to a disease and the remnants of humanity are trying not only to survive, but to hold onto their culture.
