ok I think the answer is yes but before i update all my challenges want to make sure can a book count for more then one challenge?for example I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife
it fits the quarterly challenge and the October challenge.
Here you go, Winter! https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...All, please vote in the above poll to let us know what yearly challenge you would like to see in 2016.
Hm we can just vote for one ^-^ That doesn't mean that only one of them will be available next year?
I love A-Z and I SPY, but I also hope to participate in Listopia next year :)
Last year, we brought back three (four if you count the choice awards). We will likely bring back a few, but we're using the poll to find out which was everyone's favorite.

Kind of a weird question here. This has kind of become my maingroup for challenges. But some of the challenges in other groups are fun too. I have become kind of ehm.. okay, very addicted to my own corner here. If I collect all my challenges there, is that a problem? I don't want to make so much effort in every group I find a cool challenge in, I like having it all in one place (a little OCD for order).
I like to do it like this:

Winter wrote: "(many of those are just my own)"Hi Winter,
I like the sound of your Bible challenge. How does it work? Just curious.

I am a christian, so Bible-reading is a huge part of my life. I want to read the whole thing. I have a reading plan to follow that read a chapter from ten books in the Bible. I just cross of the books as I finish them :)
That one is mostly for motivation by seeing that I'm actually close to finishing the whole thing. Some books are full of names and hard thing to read, so crossing them off feels good ^^
Hi Winter, That sounds really good. I commend you on this challenge. I agree that there are many chapters in scripture with names and other things that are hard to read. I too am a Christian and studied a Theology degree for four years which was interesting. I wish you all the best with this challenge.
And to answer your question, you can totally post any challenges in your corner (even from other groups)!

Do you use your degree at work or was it more because you wanted to study it? I would like to study history of jews sometimes and the historian background in old and new testament to understand more. But more as a self-study I think :)
Thank you :)
Hi there! Is there any way of posting the challenge update widget that I have on my Goodreads Profile to my Facebook Profile? At the moment Goodreads updates my books over at FB, but I wanted it to show my challenge progress too if possible? When I go to here: https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/... there is a FB icon to (supposedly) update FB, but it doesn't work? Thanks!
Hi Pixie, I'm not sure. This is a question for Goodreads staff, so I would ask them about it in the Feedback Group.
Hi, this thread is getting a little long, and therefor hard to search for some answers. Goodreads does not make it easy to search through threads at all. Is there anyway you could archive this one and start a new one for 2016? I know it's extra work. I just think that as we approach a new year with all the new members...we are almost at 7000, it might be more user friendly to revamp some of the old threads.
Good point, Kadijah Michelle! We will start a new one. When the year begins, we will also create new Let's Chat and Introductions threads.

Thanks Kara. I am really looking forward to the new Introductions threads.
I was wondering if you could make a recommendations thread? That way new members looking for new Goodreads friends have an easier time looking.
I'm just throwing this out there, but like:
What was the last book you read before filling out this questionnaire?
What was the first "grown up" book you ever read?
What book would you never remove from your book shelf?
What book have your read more often than any other?
What book was the hardest for you to finish?
What book kept you up way past your bedtime?
What book is next on your To Be Read list?
Or something like that.
Good call! I'd also like to mention that members should not feel like they need to search through a topic to find an answer to their question - it's better to just ask again. I have no problem answering the same question multiple times!
Hi - Being new to the group, I just wanted to make sure I was planning correctly. I'm hoping to read a book that might fit into many of the different challenges. For example, If I read The Painted Girls for the Reality to Fiction Challenge, it also fits for France in the Around the World Challenge and for 2012 publishing in the Every Year Since Birth Challenge. I might also consider it for the book with a blue cover for the PopSugar 2016 Challenge.
But... if I'm to read a different book for each of the yearly challenges, I have bitten off more than I can handle. Please let me know if it's ok to duplicate for the yearly challenges. I'm excited about adding different books for the monthly challenges, but would have to select fewer options for the yearly ones if they can't overlap.
Thanks for your help!
That's amazing - thank you. I panicked a little thinking I had just signed up to read over 200 books. Now it will be manageable as they overlap. Happy reading!
good morning, I just wanted to tell you mods what a great job that you are doing with this group I haven't been here long but have felt very welcome and comfortable enough to jump in and be active that doesn't always happen with a high volume group!

Second that!
Thanks everyone for the kind remarks. Also thank you to the lovely PMs that we've received. This is a really great group and it's a pleasure to be one of its mods. This group is really great because of all of you. Thanks.
You all are so sweet! It's true that it's each of our members that make this group special. I love being a moderator here and I always look forward to chatting with you and seeing what you're reading.Hugs all around! (Unless you don't like hugs, in which case we can do fistbumps or high-fives or something else.)
Winter, I'm sorry I missed this!I answered via private message, but for others who are wondering, you can do it one of two ways: you can either reveal yourself when you send your book OR you can post in the thread after your Santee receives the book. Your call!
I have a non-group related question that I could probably find a more appropriate group to ask - but I know some of you have a lot of GR knowledge, so: When I add a shelf (like "owned but unread") to books already listed in my "to-read"-shelf, GR apparently decides it means it should broadcast those books as to-reads all over again. That has to be some kind of bug, right? Because I never moved the books off-and-back-on the to-read shelf. I'm annoyed because I assume I just caused a spammy avalanche in some other people's update feeds. :3
Yeah, that sounds like a bug. You may want to report it by emailing support(at)goodreads(dot)com or posting in the Feedback group.
okay I have no idea where to put this question so forgive me if its in the wrong place. I know we have a 2015 banner for the groups page I would like to offer to make 2016s if it hasn't been done, I have been teaching myself Photoshop for a while and would like to try. saying no is completely okay I just wanted to offer
Happy Holidays!
Thanks, Blagica, but we're going to have a contest for the 2016 banner. You're welcome to submit something! Keep an eye out in January.
Hi guys! I just had a quick question that I havent had to worry about before. I just finished my book last night and Im not sure if I start another one that I will get it finished by Jan 1. If I start one now and don't finish it, what year would I put it under? Is it my choice? Just wondering
We typically count books by the date you finish them (and that's how all of our challenges work as well). However, for your own personal goal, if you consider it reached, that's all that matters!
Will there be a genre challenge for 2016? If not, I will tweak either the Goodreads awards challenge or Listopia challenge to serve that purpose.
