Cindyg (brotherlover) | 248 comments Have it...
Haven't started it...

message 808: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) I didn't think I could ever like Styx considering all he did to Ash. Haven't read his book yet. So Ms. Kenyon redeemed him?

message 809: by Maria (new)

Maria Itliong | 22 comments Waiting for Styxx on paperback

message 810: by Zippymae (new)

Zippymae | 4 comments I'm re-reading the Dark Hunter series. I'm just about to finish Dance with the Devil, and go on to Kiss of the Night.

message 813: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Lewis I just finished Styxx and I'm dying to talk about it with someone (without spoiling it for those who haven't read it). I think I cried more than when I read Acheron.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments We do have a Styxx discussion thread Jennifer. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... feel free to share your thoughts there. :)

Maria Itliong | 22 comments I'm waiting for Invision from Chronicles of Nick then waiting for Dragon Mark

message 818: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I have Born of Betrayal. Still need to read it. Preferably before the next CON book comes out. I like to be caught up on her books so I'm not behind so much

message 819: by Maria (new)

Maria Itliong | 22 comments I've read all her books and waiting for the next one to come out, I've been constantly reading books from different series just to tide me over when her CON comes out this May

message 820: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Lol I do that when I'm caught up. I love revisiting books while I wait for the next. It helps with the anxiousness a bit

message 821: by Charlotte, Cheesy Cakes (last edited Mar 01, 2016 11:06AM) (new)

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments I'm currently working on SK's works published under Kinley MacGregor. =)

I recently finished the first two books in the LOA series (loved Knight of Darkness, parts of it were hilarious), and I have Sea Wolves on my e-reader, ready for reading. Gotta get acquainted with some of those characters since apparently some of them will be appearing in Deadman's Cross. ;)

message 822: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 119 comments I've read all the DH/con books I could get my hands on (= all :o) ). I've tried one (well, two, but I never finished the second one, only skim-read) of the league books, but as much as I love her other books, I can't get into the story properly, so have given up on that ones. Might try again at a later time. However, I have ordered myself two of the Lord of Avalon books. Read the first one and loved it. Will be starting on the second soon and excited about it. After that I'll be in a bit of an SK drought - have re-read my fav DH books already a few times, so was wondering - anyone can recommend one of the league ones? Which one did you guys like the best? I might give that one a go - maybe the other two were a fluke. Thanks!

message 823: by Hal (new)

Hal (hdsreadinglife) | 47 comments Which two league books did you read?

message 824: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) @nicole I personally recommend reading the series in order.. But my favorite book from her league series is born of night.. I also really enjoyed cloak and silence, but that's like 6 books into the series I think. Born of silence was a great book, too. I think that's book 5. I am head of heels in love with her league series. I've read born of night like 7 times. Haha. I'm having trouble getting into her DH series. Which is the technical first book? I've heard a few different answers.

message 825: by Hal (new)

Hal (hdsreadinglife) | 47 comments The technical first book is Night Pleasures but Fantasy Lover is set before NP so I'd read Fantasy Lover first.

message 826: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) @halee, thank you!

message 827: by Maria (new)

Maria Itliong | 22 comments Born of legend from the league series

message 828: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) Which one comes after Born of Fury? It's Born of Defiance, right? I would have thought Fain's story was next...

message 829: by Hal (new)

Hal (hdsreadinglife) | 47 comments After you read Born of Defiance, you'll see why Fain's story isn't first :p

message 830: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) Oh okay. When I first noticed it wasn't Fain, I freaked out and researched it for like 30 minutes to see what was next. Lol.

message 831: by Maria (new)

Maria Itliong | 22 comments I need to re-read some of the books

message 832: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Always heard that Darling's book was a crowd pleaser too if you want to try that one out Nicole. And definitely reading Born of Defiance. Big fave for me of the series so far.

message 833: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) @dhfan4life, I think you and I spoke about Dancer's book maybe a month ago. I just finished that book last week. Once I got into it, it was actually pretty good. Wasn't fully expecting that ending. Haha

message 834: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yay, glad you pulled through it. Yea, SK is always surprising us from time to time. I gotta get back to the series to pick up Fain's book.

Depending on which League books you read, Nicole, you might be able to skip ahead to Born of Shadows (Caillen's book) and then go from there. It seemed to me that the writing in that book (and all the League books following), more closely matches what we see in the DH series. And I swear that each League book after that, just gets better and better. =)

message 836: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) @dhfan4life, if you pick it up, lemme know what you think about it. I'm dying to get to it, but I guess I have to read born of Defiance first. Hahah.

message 837: by Hal (new)

Hal (hdsreadinglife) | 47 comments Born of Defiance is sosososo good (might be my favorite in the series besides Born of Legend) Definitely read it before Born of Betrayal, it'll make much more sense.

message 838: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Born of Defiance is so awesome though. I swear I have a girl crush on the heroine in that one. She really was a great chick to her guy that was literally going through all kinds of hell.

message 839: by Hal (new)

Hal (hdsreadinglife) | 47 comments That heroine is one of my top 5 of all SK's books tbh.

message 840: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) Thanks guys! I can't wait to read it. I'm reading another book at the moment, but that will be one of the next books I read :)

message 842: by Tara (new)

Tara Taylor | 6 comments @jessica I've read a few of the DH books and like them but the were hunter books are sooooo much better IMO but I love the league it's totes the best. One thing with all of her books though, I wish she wasn't so hard on her main characters childhood/past.

And yet even though I'm no torture porn type of person as some have dubbed SK's style of writing her character's past. I like how she writes them. Cause not everyone comes from a cookie cutter background at times. And sure not everyone's past is as brutal either. But when the market is occasionally putting out fluff. I think SK keeps it real at times. Just my opinion.

message 844: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) @tara, I'd have to disagree.. I love learning about their pasts.

message 845: by Tara (new)

Tara Taylor | 6 comments @dhfan4life Oh I absolutely agree, I don't like how bad it is sometimes but you can't deny she's a great writer.

message 846: by Jessica (new)

Jessica LaMotte (jesz009) @dhfan4life, I think I can agree with what you said and there's a lot of truth to that. That's why I love this series so much. My teenage years were a little rough (no where near as bad as what she describes of course) but it reminds me that I'm not the only one. Some of the characters are a bit standoff-ish at the beginning of the books and that's the way I was before I met my boyfriend. It gives me a sense of familiarity, I guess. Haha

message 847: by Hal (new)

Hal (hdsreadinglife) | 47 comments Didn't Bastien have a happy childhood? (From what I've read in BoL) I hope I'm thinking of the right character.

message 848: by Tara (new)

Tara Taylor | 6 comments Some of them have ok childhoods but the majority are really harsh and of course all the characters that I love the most have the worst upbringing and it makes me sad because of course like any sane person. I form a personal relationship with these fictitious characters lol. But part of the appeal of her is that she's not cookie cutter.

Exactly. Although I'll admit to still being stand-offish at times now lol. It's only with like minds I can open up more. But yea, I like having characters we can relate to that way.

I don't think I've read his book. Or was he the long distant cousin of Nykryian...?
