Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Started yesterday with the Dark hunter series (right from the beginning - "Fantasy Lover", lol). Dunno... how many books are out until now?

message 502: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) 20 or 21 in the dark hunter series I think I haven't counted in a while

message 503: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Uff... i think there are only 6 or 7 in my language :D So a lot to read, lol. I'm on page 250 of "Fantasy Lover" - think i'll finish it today. Love it.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh yea tons of good reading in your future Sandra. :)

message 505: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Yep... as i said. Book 7 will be released in june 2011 *sigh* damn it this will be an expensive year for me.

message 506: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Recently finished Night Pleasures. Really enjoyed it. Now on to Night Embrace.

message 507: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) just finished One Silent Night (Dark-Hunter, #16) by Sherrilyn Kenyon it was great!

message 508: by Samantha (new)

I completely agree with you there, I absolutely loved this book! and I love it not only because it was an awesome book, but like you said its never been done before getting the bad guys pov

message 509: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Will start Im Herzen der Nacht by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Night Embrace... I hate the german cover!) today.

message 510: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I just finished Invincible and wasn't impressed. I thought it was ok but nothing special. Maybe because it's young adult and it really doesn't have any bite to it. I did enjoy Infinity but not so much this one.

message 511: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I think cause the rea juiciy factor was at the end Barbara. Cause remember when young Nick had his hand cut by that Xenon guy in the center of his palm? Well he finally noticed the same cut on "Ambrose's" hand too. So I think in the next one he is going to be starting to put some pieces together as to how they could have the same scar. If Ambrose is really his uncle and stuff like that. The only thing I don't like too much about it is Nekoda being so chummy with him. I mean it was mentioned in Infinity that she is far older than him in this version of the past and just pretending to be someone his age to watch over him and report back. So it's like major cougarism going on with her kissing him. Just ick.

message 512: by CassieCruel (last edited May 31, 2011 08:30AM) (new)

CassieCruel (faith_isola) I'm not currently reading one but have No Mercy ready and waiting in my TBR pile :D

message 513: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Still waiting on Sundown's coming this August. Just sucks cause I have another part of my fave game come out today. But I'm forgoing it so I can save my money for books and this up coming family reunion. Sucks. :(

message 514: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I'm going to be starting dream warrior tonight

message 515: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Have fun with that one Sammie. It's a bit of a confusing one for me still in a way.

message 516: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Dance With The Devil (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Love Talon - but now it's time for Zarek *grins*

message 517: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Started Night Embrace. So far so good.

message 518: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) I'm staring a re-read of the series and have just finished Julian's book - fantasy lover! Now on to Kyrians book - Night pleasures (which is one of my favourites).
I forget just how funny these books are. I loved how blunt Julian was in his book, everything so black and white.... "you named a restaurant that describes it's foos as being 'hard as a rock'?" LOL

message 519: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments @Steph: Oh I loved the driving-scene. You know? When Julian should learn to drive a car... his comments were just so hilarious :D

message 520: by Steph (last edited Jun 01, 2011 07:30AM) (new)

Steph (lovessf) Brilliant Sandra lol, here a few I liked...
Grace - "okay, can you reach the pedals?"
J "I'd like to reach your pedals..."
G "Would you concentrate?"
J "All right I'm concentrating,"
G "I dont mean on my breasts"
He dropped his hungry gaze to her lap
G "or there either"
So funny!

J "you know, you really shouldn't fondle that in front of me, Grace. It's cruel."
G "Julian! Do you mind? I'm only trying to show you how to shift my gears,"
J He snorted "I wish you'd shift my gears like that."

There are so many good ones! lol.

message 521: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Yeah that's what I mean. I really enjoyed the book - as much as I enjoyed Kyrians book. Talon was hot - I gasped when they had sex, uff...
Zarek... I don't enjoy that book atm - it's not so good. Maybe it'll change.

Btw my name is Sandra - not Sarah :)

message 522: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) All fixed lol. I can't remember Talons book all that well but I'll be back to discuss all the juicey bits lol

message 523: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments You'll end up loving Zarek too by the end of the book Sandra. It's hard not to really. As he just holds a grudge far better than the others do at times. And getting the short end of the stick in his real life AND in his DH life, made me want to do some Artie choking myself on his behalf.

message 524: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Oh I believe I'll love Zarek's book - but not now :(
Talon *drooling* oh damn... I was sitting in the bus when he and Sunshine had their first "Marathon"... was looking around, thinking "Please don't look at me... please don't look at me" :D

message 525: by Anna (new)

Anna | 18 comments Dhfan4life wrote: "Have fun with that one Sammie. It's a bit of a confusing one for me still in a way."

Zarek is my favorite. His story broke my heart and then put it back together again.

message 526: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I agree Anna. I sobbed like a baby then blew my nose and cheered him and Astrid on.

message 527: by Anna (new)

Anna | 18 comments I always look forward to him being in a new book. Also in the Dark Hunter Manga he was drawn just the way I pictured him. (Zarek)

message 528: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) zarek he's so funny gotta love him, once my best friend replaces the books that were stolen from her I probably will reread the series once I get done with the books I have left so far, this series has kept me occupied for almost 2 years now, yes I've taken my sweet time with it and its been well worth it. :)

message 529: by Katie (new)

Katie (jessesgurl) | 2 comments Adrienne wrote: "I'll start:: I've just started reading Dark Side of the Moon::I'm really really enjoying it:: i love Ravyn and Susan and the raport they seem to have:: this story is not like the previous books in..."

I'm right in the middle of it. I've been reading them in order (except Acheron-which got me started on the series) and the story intertwining with Nick is breaking my weak little ticker. Susan's sense of humor is the only reason I have kept reading it (I think I need some "funny" right now). Ash can't catch a break, DH's and appolites - married? I'll finish it today, lawnchair + sun + coconut sunscreen = determination!

message 530: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (starkgyrl) | 5 comments I'm reading the second DreamHunter book, Upon a Midnight Clear(?). It's a bit rushed but I still enjoy her work and get involved with the characterization development. Each book is an interesting evolution about how unique and similar each hero/heroine are to us. Plus I have Dream Chaser waiting right after Leta and Aiden. Can't wait!

message 531: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (starkgyrl) | 5 comments I LOVED Dark Side of the Moon. Probably a tie with Zarek's Dance with the Devil as my second favorite book. Susan is a great female lead in this story with her wicked sense of humor. What always gets me wondering is "how are they gonna find a loophole to stay together?"

message 532: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Did you finish Dark Side of the Moon, Lorena? Cause I think at the end and hopefully I'm not spoiling this for anyone. But in case I am, I will say the loophole is when Ravyn explains about why he won't quit being a dark-hunter. I know that is kind of vague but think about it for those that have read that part of things.

I did finish it and thought their loophole was one of the more creative ones.

message 534: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea theirs and Dev's and Samia's for me for sure. I mean both really blew the "rules" right out of the water to me.

message 535: by Shiran (new)

Shiran | 28 comments I just finished Night Play and loved it sooo much that I picked up Unleash the Night immediately! Have you ever loved someones mind as much as SK after you read Night Play? I mean who wouldn't love a women who creates a species where women are the dominant ones? I loved the whole 'it's the woman's choice' and that once mated a man cannot cheat on the woman and he becomes impotent if she doesn't choose him. Classic!!!

I'm dying to read Acheron, but I'm working my way up to that one...

message 536: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) Acherons book is incredible. The first half is really hard to read. We find out a hell of a lot about his past. Wwhich for me personally was heartbreaking. But I was happy to know how he came to be the man he is.
The second half IMO was amazing, and some parts are hilarious! You won't be dissapointed.
Plus Tory KICKS ASS lol

message 537: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I swear I devoured Night Play as soon as I bought it. And I wasn't even initially feeling Vane from Talon's book. But the way he treats Bride is beyond beautiful. And I totally agree and loved how SK wrote the rules for the weres. If only real life could be that nice, haha.

And I warn ya Shiran have tissues ready for Val's and Ash's books. As personally those are 2 of the most saddest books to me. Good parts in there too at times but so much death in Seize the Night and that first part of Ash is just beyond moving. Second part though is one for debate and will let you figure out how you feel about it with Tory.

message 538: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) Yeah the second half isn't liked by everyone!
I also loved Val's book. I really didn't like him before his book. But after getting to know him better, I was in love lol

message 539: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (shinhbang) | 23 comments I need to finish off Zarek's book and then I'm waiting for Retribution! WOOT WOOT :)

message 540: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea I didn't like Val at first either. As I was thinking he was Kyrian's "Val" from back in the day. But he wasn't so it gave me a space to see him for who he was. And equally get ticked at Kyrian and the others for playing the bully on a bystander.

message 541: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) Me too. I hated in Val's book that everyone was so horrible to him when he hadn't actually done anything wrong except be the relative of a really bad guy!
This couple were one of my favourites. I loved that Val was so stiff and a little boring lol And Tabitha is just wonderfully crazy. She brings out the best in him!

I know I went through Night Play like it was my only chance of survival :P I waited so long to read it cos I've never been much of a fan of shifters but damn I was wrong, they can be amazing. Haha yeah if only, I love the mating concept. Can you imagine if men couldn't cheat? I'd live in that world.

I can't wait to read Acheron, I'm definitely going to buy it ASAP :)

I actually have read Val's book. When I was done with Kyrian's book I just had to know what happens with Val and Tabitha, I mean she's Amanda's twin I had to know. So I jumped to Seize the Night. I loved it and you're totally right it's really sad but I enjoyed it a lot :) Val is awesome...

Haha I totally agree Steph. The stiff, he has a stick up his ass thing is so cute at times. And who wouldn't love crazy Tabby she's just awesome. I actually liked that I had read Night Play after Val's book cos I knew what he was like and didn't find him boring or annoying at all. That bit with him and Bride having dinner put a smile on my face :)

message 544: by [deleted user] (new)

Right know I finished the first one of The League books, I loved all of DH and I can wait no more for the release of Retribution...

Val's story broke my heart and made me love him, he is so funny in a very serious kind of way.

I finished RETRIBUTION last week... I was disappointed with it :( I wanted more!!!!!! :(

Liz Barrons-Kattalakis-Quiakides-Tehrror | 351 comments Diane wrote: "None right now, since I'm reading The Passage for my book club, but I plan to start Born of the Night soon."

I absolutely LOVE Born of Night!!!! I hope you like it too, that is why my second last name is Quiakides!!!!

message 547: by Shiran (new)

Shiran | 28 comments I just finished Devil May Cry, I LOVED every page of it. I think it's one of my favourite so far! Oh the secrets that get revealed! I can't wait to read Dream Chaser but right now I'm reading one of her Kinley MacGregor books A Pirate of Her Own I really LOVE this series too. I wish she would write more.

Liz Barrons-Kattalakis-Quiakides-Tehrror | 351 comments I will be reading Alterant (Belador, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon when it comes out on Sept 27th.

message 549: by Denise (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Lizabel not sure if you saw it or not. But under the giveways on the site here they actually have like either 1 or a few copies they are giving away if you or any one else are interested at that opportunity. Opps and it is for Alterant forgot to add that part.
