I loved your reply because it reminded me of ME...lol...I just finished 'Spirit Bound' not too long ago and GRRR---now have to wait until Dec to get my Dimitri fix. Right now I just started 'The Dark Divine and Beautiful Creatures...as well as trying to finish the Series of the Dark-Hunters...

Diane (dianejan3) I'm in the middle of part II Acheron. I'm suprised I still like Artemis.

message 453: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) Oh I hated her by that point. I could never understand her cruelty towards Ash. When all he ever did was love her. It's horrible to to read! How one person could desrtoy somebody else in such a way. She was beginning to help him, and then all she did was turn on him. In some ways, she was the one who hurt him the most!

message 454: by Diane (last edited Oct 26, 2010 06:42PM) (new)

Diane (dianejan3) @Steph: Well, that's probably why I still like her. I COULD understand her cruelty towards Ash. She never even had good examples of friendship and love much less experienced them before Ash. Even people can be proud and self-absorbed, how much more a goddess. She had very human faults too, like using anger to hide insecurities. I find it interesting that gods and goddesses are not remotely infallible.

That being said, I don't excuse her from her actions. I can only hope that someday she will change.

message 455: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) I agree, I can understand her actions in some ways. However It's my total love for Ash's character that makes me biased. Acherons book was incredible, I was so happy that he finally had some one to love him. I loved the part of the book when he gets drunk on sprite and reveals everything to Tory, it was so funny! All you see Ash as is this strong leader to all the others, you forget that he also needs soebody to share his life and all the things he struggles with. You could tell how much he loved Tory already when he took her to the hospital after the bike crash, it was heartbreaking. And how he tried so hard to protect her even whilst flying off the bike, he put her first. I cried so much...
I was so shocked when Artemis shoved tory in that room with Ash at his worst, it was scary. I was so scared that he would have really killed her, it would have destroyed him all over again. Loved the book all together... nice to have some one to talk about it too. Thanks xx

message 456: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianejan3) @Steph: I scared when Tory died too! I was like "desperate moves Artie, but hell, that was cruel". I didn't want Ash to be broken again. For me the Ash-Tory story was lacking but I'm happy that Ash finally has someone, for everything that he's been through he deserves happiness.

Yep, always love discussing the book. Thanks to you too, no problem. :)

message 457: by Steph (new)

Steph (lovessf) Oh I really liked their relatonship, what do you think it lacked? What other books do you like? I think my favourites are Dance With The Devil, Devil May Cry, Dream Warrior and Bad Moon Rising. Love them all, especially Sin and Kat.

Donna (BLHmistress) (BLHmistress) | 68 comments I havent read the books in awhile debating whether to do a reread, like I need an excuse But I still need to read Fang and Dev's book. so question I have for myself is whether to read them two then reread or reread then read them. Not sure I can wait lol

message 459: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I've actually been re-reading my favorite parts of all of the books here and there. But I personally can't wait til the next book in Nick's series comes out. As I have a boat load of curiousities about this Nekoda person. I'm starting to think she is a female Seriphonii (sp?). But still can't wait to know more about her and other characters. But yea, I have been re-reading bits and pieces from all the other books I have from the series. I just re-read the drunk on sprite scene that Ash had last night. And the night before I re-read about Katra getting to officially hug Ash for the first time. So yea, staying on top of all the books in one way or another.

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I just finished Dark Side of the Moon (Dark-Hunter, #9) (Were-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon and I am so pisssssed at nick it ain't funny.

Lol, I hear ya. Nick is a special one indeed ever since Seize the Night. I can't wait til he gets his life back together and gets back on track. Cause although I get that he is going through a difficult time. I still feel that he is expending far too much energy on being angry at the wrong people and not learning his powers as succesfully as he should. I mean he has some mild protection by hanging with Artemis and she likely doesn't make him think about the stuff that happened. But at the same time, he is more or less a ticking time bomb in regards to his demon powers and stuff. SO he needs to calm down get his head on straight and get trained properly.

Janine (jldub) New to the Dark Hunter series. Reading Fantaasy Lover now.

yeah, so it will definitely be interesting in knowing what comes of him. But I still think he needs to be smacked around a few times.

Luna | 16 comments i just started reading Dream Warrior it's really good so far

message 465: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Glad you are enjoying it Luna. Although by the end of it, you will be scraching your head for sure.

message 466: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I haven't started that series Lady Vale. But have you tried Amazon.com or any other online sites? They might have it around. And latest SK story I'ved read is Where Angels Fear to Tread.

message 467: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hmm. I hate to say it, but it might be out of print. Do you follow SK on Twitter or Facebook? You might be able to get her to suggest some other places to look. Or someone else that is following her might know.

message 468: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments No problem. :)

message 469: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea Hi Ladies,

I just finished Archeron and I loved it. He was my favorite character from all of the other novels and really was chomping at the bit to find out his history. It blew me away and I was so sad for him. I am re-reading part 2 because it was just so fantastic that I flew through it. I am re-reading it to savor him and Tory. She is so quirky and he is so sweet (never had a thing for the goth look but I eat it up when Kenyon describes him). The back-story of Ash's life explains so much. When I get through reading the new novels I am going to re-read the series again and knowing the history behind everyone I think will put a new twist on the characters. I cannot wait!

My favorite DH's have to be Val and Ash. Something about their sad past just makes my heart ache for them, sigh. Those two men get my blood roaring.

AlbertaJenn Lady Vale wrote: "I wanna read the third book in her Avalon series but I can't find it anywhere. Has somebody read it? Is it good?"

Darkness Within has been delayed (yet again). Hopefully it will be out sometime later in 2011. Carl said on FB that they didn't have a new date yet.

I know Sherri has been ill a couple of times over the last year or so, so I think some of her titles are going to run a little late.

message 471: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Thanks for the update AJ. :) Sorry though that SK has been sick. Seems like that is going around a lot lately.

message 472: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (shinhbang) | 23 comments I'm supposed to read them in order, but I ruined that eversince I accidentally picked up Devil May Cry from the bargain shelf of Barnes and Noble. I've read all except for Dance with the Devil, and I plan to finish that this spring break.

message 473: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments It's a good one Ashley.

message 474: by Rachael (new)

Rachael (rachaelelaineh) | 2 comments I just finished Invincible (Chronicles of Nick, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon ...it was awesome!

message 475: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Lucky girl you Rachel. I'm still waiting for the physical paper back copy to come out. Can't wait to get that along with Lover Unleashed.

message 476: by Rachael (new)

Rachael (rachaelelaineh) | 2 comments I bought the hardcover a couple of weeks ago, it nearly killed me having to wait for it to arrive. It was well worth the wait.

message 477: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Wait I thought it was being released the 22? That was when I was going to buy it. Did you have it preordered? And I actually meant the hardcover one in my last post there.

message 478: by Luna (new)

Luna | 16 comments its not out in barns and noble till the 22 i just asked to be sure

message 479: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh ok. I did recall someone saying in another thread that it was out early on audible I think. Still like the physical copy. And new book smell. Good stuff there.

message 480: by AlbertaJenn (new)

AlbertaJenn I noticed that Rachel is in Austrailia. I have had coversations with an Aussie friend online about how Austrailian booksellers don't follow Strict On Sale dates. Same with movie retailers. She frequently gets books and movies a week or more before we do in North America.

message 481: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ah so that explains it then. Damn lucky indeed Rachel. :) Thanks for clearing that up AJ.

message 482: by RAIN (new)

RAIN (rain_holt) | 16 comments Bought, started and finished Invincible The Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon last night

message 483: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'll be getting it soon Civia. Getting it with a few other book pick ups.

message 484: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) when I read these books again I will be on DH-upon the midnight clear... the league- born of fire...and I have yet to start the chronicles of Nick... oh and I haven't started B.A.D. series yet either

message 485: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Soaking them all in there Sammie.

message 486: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) mmhmm

message 487: by AlbertaJenn (last edited Mar 24, 2011 12:19AM) (new)

AlbertaJenn I just started The Dark-Hunters, Vol. 4 (Dark-Hunter Manga, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . I love the manga. They are nice and quick, but give great overviews of the books. They really show the best parts of the books, and all the great lines.

And I don't even mind that the pictures don't really resemble the guys!

message 488: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I just finished Hunting Ground (Alpha & Omega, #2) by Patricia Briggs and now going to read Upon The Midnight Clear (Dark-Hunter, #13) (Dream-Hunter, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon very exciting. :)

message 489: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hope you like it Sammie. :)

message 490: by AlbertaJenn (new)

AlbertaJenn IMHO, it was one of the better Dream-Hunter stories. It is rather simple, but great!

message 491: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments It kind of bored me to tears actually. As it seemed to go rather slowly for me. But was nice for her to be reunited with her daughter.

message 492: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) yeah it seems kinda small compared to the others so probably a quick read.

message 493: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Just finished Upon The Midnight Clear (Dark-Hunter, #13) (Dream-Hunter, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon I thought it was actually really good and a quick read for the most part. Now I am reading Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning .

message 494: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea it was a quick read but for a dream-hunter story was kind of dry to me.

message 495: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) it was better than The Dream Hunter in my opinion...the Dream Hunter was quite boring for me.

message 496: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments To be honest I was mainly a fan of the first dream-hunter story. In Midnight Pleasures about V'Aidan. That was really interesting. These later ones just don't seem so exciting to me.

message 497: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Go for it Lady Vale. I keep hearing that the League books are good. Although when I read about them they don't really resonate with me the way that the DH books do. Or her other series too much. But it is nice she has so many different varieties for everyone to enjoy.

message 498: by Tara (new)

Tara | 142 comments I liked them! DO IT!

message 499: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I enjoyed born of night A LOT!

message 500: by AlbertaJenn (new)

AlbertaJenn I enjoyed the League series. You must keep an open mind when reading them. some of the timelines are a little out of joint, due to the fact that they were originally published by three different publishers as three seperate novels, not a series. She tried to match them back up as a series, but one or two things didn't transfer so well.

All new books (like Born of Shadows) will fit much better, being written as they are intended.
