Well, the only reason people avoid 'sin' is because they go to hell. And if you say it's to make God happy, a happy God won't send you to hell either.
If you say that you would be good without God, then why have him in the first place?

Some people want to be genuinely good people just because they want to treat others kindly and it brings them happiness to do so.
I don't think christians have good morals, because they believe in a book that condones slavery, prejudice and hatred.

People do not just decide to be gay.

The choices are God made people gay (and he is a sadistic bully for sending them to hell for that.
People choose to be something that gets them discriminated against and hated by certain people. (which just seems stupid, frankly)
