I failed once again! I had the nerve to visit a book sale at the local library today. Walked away with $21 worth of books. Somebody find my husband. I need a spanking~!

There are 8 "Highlanders", 7 is Spell of the Highlander & 8 is Into the Dreaming (most commonly found in the anthology Tapestry).

Just another excuse to buy more books, as if we needed any excuses!

message 259: by Narnies (new)

Narnies Oh shit. I was wondering who Cian is.

.... are the last 2 any good though? I think 6 is the best so far, 5 and 4 are pretty good and the first 3 are just ur standard historical romance, no biggie.

...8???

Dammit.

message 260: by Narnies (new)

Narnies p.s - Don't forget Fever new_user!!! You know you want to!

Sorry Ariana I'm still collecting the series and haven't read them yet. I'm sure there are plenty of others here who have. Although everyone keeps saying you should read "Highlanders" so you understand "Fever", that's my plan.

message 263: by new_user (new)

new_user LOL, thanks, Jess. I'll look out for Fever, Ariana. ;)

message 264: by Narnies (new)

Narnies I read Fever before the Highlander series and you can understand it fine, reading the highlander series just gives you a bit more knowledge of some of the Fae and a few of the side characters.

Plus Fever is a gazillion times better! :D

message 265: by Tonya (new)

Tonya Ok, someone stop me from buying more books. I just bought 5 books from Walmart, and 7 books from the used book store. I probably have 50 PNR books waiting to be read. I need some serious help!!!

I really liked both series! I felt the highlander was awsome for its steamy fantasy romance and the Fever series was equally amazing in its Fae/ Paranormal qualities. The Fever series does have a nice romance with Barrons, it doesn't have its main focis on the steam. I have all of them! I am totally addicted to collecting all in whatever series I stick my nose in.

Well I was bad again, went to the bookstore and bought 3 more books and am thinking about hitting amazon. I found out while I was in the book store that it is closing, so there will be NO book stores. Amazon or Borders onling will have to be it, unless I want to drive half an hour. Makes me a bit miffed.

It is crazy, we do have a couple of used book stores that are pretty good but it's hard when you are looking for something specific. When I went to the book store yesterday I was looking for
Tall, Dark & Hungry and a couple of others and they didn't have any of what I went there for. That's when I heard a lady who was being interviewed by someone with a video camera, that the store is closing in January, and that Barnes and Noble is closing all their B. Dalton book stores. She also said they are not getting any more shipments in.

What I did buy was Kissing Sin (Riley Jenson Guardian, #2) by Keri Arthur You're So Vein (The Others, Book 7) by Christine Warren The Demon You Know (The Others, Book 3) by Christine Warren Big Bad Wolf (The Others, #8) by Christine Warren

I have recently bought numerous others in the Lora Leigh Breed series, too many to remember off the top of my head. I have a serious addiction problem :).

message 276: by Megan (new)

Megan Ebay is my downfall. For Christmas I bought a ton of books and packed them in one GIGANTIC box, wrapped it, and made the sticker out from my husband to myself. I told him I loved my present from him and didn't need anything else. lol. Its borderline pathetic huh?

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 65 comments Hi, my name is Amanda. ::Wave:: I'm a book-buying addict. And I don't care :)

I gave up smoking recently, and the money I'm saving from that is going towards more books.

I actually bought a Kindle so I could save room in my house, not necessarily money. I moved into my house a year ago, and most of the books are still packed because there's nowhere to put them :(

message 280: by Koren (new)

Koren | 4 comments Hi my name is Koren, and I'm a book buying addict.
I have four bookcases, all four of which are so packed full that I have had to get creative with how I have the books stacked on them. I also got a Kindle for Christmas and this has been a serious temptation for me, as I live in a small town that only has two very small bookstores and would normally have to go to another city to find books, now I have amazon in my hand , and don't have to wait for shipping.I have bought eight books in the last two days. (If this is an addiction, I don't want to be cured!)

message 281: by LooLoo (new)

LooLoo Hi Koren. I understand about getting creative with how to stack the books on the shelf. I don't have enough shelf space so I also keep them in large shopping bags hidden in my guest room so hubby doesn't have a heart attack.

Debbie The Book Vixen (goodreadscomdebbiethebookvixen) Oh my goodness I walk into a Barnes and Noble it's an automatic 60.00, I got so many on line coupons from them at Christmas They knew me by First Name!

message 283: by Koren (new)

Koren | 4 comments Yeah ...I have them flipped and stacked every which way. There are also several prolific authors who have claimed their very own shelf , all by themselves. The kindle at least is helping with the no more room thing, even if it is more tempting . My hubby laughed at me the night after Christmas because I had discovered I could buy books anywhere and was buying books in bed while he was asleep.

mirba | 24 comments Ok, I'm adding myself to this.
I'm an addict. If I go out shopping with friends I ask them to control me and take me away from libraries of any kind. Last month I want out with a friend and I take her around four libraries (FOUR!!) because I wanted to buy a book, I needed to buy a book. I was so frustrated I cannot find an interesting book.
At the end I bought seven books, a couple of SF and some classical collection edition. And an history book. And anyway I was frustrated because they weren't the book I was searching fot

Ok, I am also in the ownership addicts club. If I buy a book I cannot sell it anymore. I have to keep it. I have libraries everywhere, my old room in my parent's house is full, my new shelfs in my new home is full (two rows each shelf plus books in the top of the shelf), and I have boxes around. Ok, and also an hard disk reserved for ebooks and audio books.

Is there also a reading addicts list somewhere around? Cause I think I shoud add myself also to that one!

message 286: by Rebekah (new)

Rebekah (rowen1313) | 29 comments Hi.. My name is Rebekah. And I am a book-buying addict.

I read about a book a day, at $10.00 a book times 365 days a year. . . you do the math. It was too baffling to me when I lost my job, so I got a library card. Unfortunately I found that the Library didn't have all the books I wanted to read, so I got a library card in a different county. And still between those two different libraries, they still don't have all the books I want to read. There fore I have 3, count them 3 library cards that work in 3 different counties, I probably spend just as much on gas and bus fare as I did on books. Oh well, at least now I only buy the book I really, really want, and I still have my Borders Membership card as well as my Barnes & Noble card, in case of emergencies.

Keta (ketadiablo) | 18 comments I've been reading all the posts here from the Book Buying Addicts and laughing myself silly. The stories about your buying addictions are absolutely hilarious. I think we should write a book about everyone's book buying addictions and journeys to get the books. The three county library post has me rolling and hiding books from hubby is also hilarious. You people are a riot!

Best, Keta

I wish I knew who the person was that got my books. I can just see it being a really old crabby guy, like the old guy from the Crankshaft comic. That is the only thing that puts a smile on my face as I have to wait for the books.
