Abby Gooch DIVERGENT IS THE BEST
I likes both Hunger Games and Matched through the first two books, but they both lost my vote in their third book.

Natasha Definitely Divergent. It was really good. Matched was....eh fine.

message 303: by Jade (last edited Dec 19, 2013 04:11PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jade I've read all three and this is my opinion.

Hunger Games in first place!
Divergent bringing up the rear in second!
I fell in love with Matched but the last two books lost me a little, still a great series though!

I guess it just depends on what you're into. Hunger Games and Divergent have a strong base with violence, Matched is more of and artistic rebellion I guess.

A great combination of violence and art is the Shatter Me series. Now those of you who have read it might be like 'Art? What are you talking about?' But the way Tahereh Mafi writes is very poetic. If you do happen to read Shatter Me, DO NOT IGNORE THE NOVELLAS! There is some serious character development in Destroy Me that is CRUCIAL to the story!

2) The Hunger Games!
3) Matched!

message 305: by Haley (new) - rated it 1 star

Haley Baker I'm really shocked that Matched is even in the competition. It wasn't very impressive to me. My favorite is definitely Divergent!

Megan Garbutt I love them all. hardest question ive ever been askedd!

message 314: by Wordy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Wordy Nerd Divergent series is the obvious answer. The Hunger Games and Matched Trilogies were great but nothing compared to Divergent.

Jessica If we are talking about just the 1st book in the series
1) Divergent

Spin Omygod totally not Matched. Read my review to find out why, but I say Hunger Games cause the ending of Aligent just spoiled the whole series for me

message 325: by Hawraa (new) - rated it 2 stars

Hawraa R. Divergent.(oh my, I love this book so much)
Hunger games.
Matched.

Solangie Definitely Divegent and Hunger Games first, cant choose between them, andI never liked Matched all througout the book, i wasted my time reading it.

message 327: by Lynn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lynn I really liked the first book in the Matched series, but I really didn't like the sequel, Crossed. I haven't read Reached yet because I disliked Crossed so much.
I've read Divergent, but haven't read the two sequels. It was good, but not good enough for me to shell out the money for hardcover copies of the sequels.
I loved all three books in the Hunger Games series, but I admit liking Catching Fire the best.

message 328: by Meghan (new) - rated it 4 stars

Meghan Newman I loved all three but all of their last books were kind of disappointing. But they were still AMAZING series!
1. Divergent
2. Hunger Games
3. Matched

message 329: by JO (last edited Dec 29, 2013 12:06PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

JO For me it is far and away The Hunger games. I liked Divergent, and Insurgent was okay but man, Allegiant is really really really bad, so it ruined it for me. I wont give anything away about the ending but by the time it got through the stupid plot twists and the repetitive boring memories of tris and tobias, I just did not care anymore. The strife and the rebellions were sure resolved very easily and all these serums that take the place of real imaginative writing were just a lazy writing trick. To me it feels like the book promoters/editors said you have to write a third one fast it does not have to be the least bit good, we have an audience already sucked into this series. I was totally disapointed I wasted so much time on it....sorry to say. I have only read Matched and it was just lame attempt to cash in on hunger games $$$$

Mariama 1. Hunger Games
2. Matched
3. Divergent

Courtney As a series, I liked Hunger Games better. As a first book, I may have liked Divergent better. I sadly didn't end up liking Matched all that much so I didn't read anymore.

Fonni Sinder Humans, *sigh*
I am a very firm believer of "respect other peoples opinions" and what Id like to say is "seriously guys, matched and not hg?" What I'm going to say is
Divergent
Hg
Matched

Looved the hunger games, but it's not really- well, it's realllllly heavy

message 333: by Bianca (new) - rated it 3 stars

Bianca I have liked all the divergent books, yet i hated catching fire (the book, the movie was amazing), and I thought all of the Matched books were awful so...
1.divergent
2.hunger games
3.matched

message 334: by Hailey (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hailey I have finished each of these series now, and Allegiant was not a very good book I my opinion. But I love the first two books. 1&2. Hunger Game\Divergent.
3. Matched

message 335: by Susan (last edited Jan 03, 2014 01:30PM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Susan I enjoyed all of them in this order: Hunger Games, Divergent, Matched. To me Hunger Games and The Giver are the archetypal dystopian novels that opened the door to all the others that followed.

And I actually enjoyed Legend more than Divergent and Matched.

message 336: by Morgan (new) - rated it 3 stars

Morgan jennifer wrote: "i really HATED matched. just thought I'd put that out there. its last on my list of the 3."

Yep.

message 337: by Tosha (new)

Tosha Mack I loved the Hunger Games movies better than the books, thats not to say the books weren't great. Katniss worked a nerve or two.

I believe Divergent "the movie" is going to suck! I just got a bad feeling.

In rating the books thought, Divergent, Hunger Games, and then Matched..

message 338: by [deleted user] (new)

My order: Divergent, the Hunger Games, Matched. None of them are absolute favorite books; I honestly wouldn't even put them on my top ten or twenty.

However, I did truly enjoy Divergent, but I am afraid that the movie will be terrible and mess it up completely. I can tell by just watching the trailer. I thought Insurgent was good, I really don't have anything else to say about it because its been a while since I've read it. I both loved and hated Allegiant. It took a different turn than what I expected, but in a positive way. Yet, I felt like there was just some bad decisions made on Roth's part, its hard to explain, I just had mixed feelings overall.

I like the Hunger Games, but sometimes Katniss annoyed me so much that I had to put the book down and take a long break. That doesn't mean I didn't like it, I did, its just that I felt so-so about it. I thought The Hunger Games was ok, a good first book. Catching Fire was my favorite, I thought it was well-developed and complex. I completely hated Mockingjay. It felt fused to me and I couldn't stand it. The first movie bothered me, I don't know what else to say about that. But the second movie was amazing. I thought it was almost perfect and stuck to the book really well.

I have mixed feelings about Matched. I haven't read it in a really long time, but I just didn't like whole plot. It was interesting and all, but I just didn't find it interesting at all.

message 339: by Jane (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jane I loved all the books so this was hard but..
1. Divergent
2. Hunger Games
3. Matched

message 340: by Eleanor (new) - added it

Eleanor I don't really think that they're that similar besides that they all belong to the same genre. But to answer your question, I didn't like the hunger games, I recently read matched and loved it - I can't wait to continue with the series - but divergent is better. I was up all night reading. I'm just finishing Allegiant.

message 341: by Bella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bella Taylor divergent :)

message 342: by Serena (new) - rated it 3 stars

Serena I feel like Matched and Hunger Games declined as their series progressed, but Divergent improved

message 343: by Julia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Julia Wang 1. Hunger Games
2. Matched

I haven't read Divergent yet...

message 344: by Ashley (last edited Jan 06, 2014 04:54AM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

Ashley 1. Divergent
2. Hunger Games
3. Matched

I love the characters in Divergent and the story moves at a good pace. Hunger Games was good but I don't feel as connected to the characters. And I didn't like Matched so I didn't read the rest of the series.

message 345: by [deleted user] (new)

I vote Matgent Games

Abbigail Divergent hands down
