25.7 - Chaitra's task: Judge a Book By Its Cover!
Approved for Option A - Dismembered
- I'm giving this the benefit of doubt because it's a little difficult to figure out if either of the people are cut off by the cover.Won't Work for Option A - Dismembered
- they're silhouettes of whole people.
- even though a body part is obscured by something, it's still within the cover.
- whole person.
- a few whole people can be seen.
Approved for Option B - There's That 'Thing' Again!
and
- trees on both covers.

is borderline, as I think both their legs are obscured by the table to a degree that I can't figure out if the cover cuts them both off, so I'll give it the benefit of doubt. If you do use it, can you mention it was approved in the thread? :)

I will choose two of the others that I listed, since looking at the book in question, I am not sure if I see blue below the table or it is my imagination. My motto: when in doubt, leave out.

Would
work for dismemberment? You can't see the feet of the person on the cover, but I'm not sure if that's sufficient. I mostly thought it would work because of all the arms in the background. Thanks,
Denise
Hi Denise,This is a hard one. I stared at it for a while and felt that the guy's legs would be visible if it wasn't obscured by the fire, so I'm going to have to say no, sorry!

No problem - that's why I asked. I have some other options that I can use. Great task!
I haven't decided which option to take yet but I'm wondering about these 2 books:
for Option D
for Option C

even works for C, because the yellow is bright enough to hurt my eyes. :)

"Hi Robin, thanks for liking the task!
works, but
won't because I can see there are a number of birds flying right below the moon. However, they're both really lovely covers, so you could always go with option E. :)

Thanks Chaitra!! I totally missed the birds LOL as I was focusing on the size of the moon on both covers.

For this task, choose ONE option and read TWO books from the same option.
Option A - Dismembered: Read two books with covers showing a person/animal with a body part missing. If your cover shows multiple people, all of them should show dismemberment! No whole people allowed on the covers, sorry. You may use the same missing body part on both covers, i.e., both covers can show only hands, but it is not necessary
What works:
Option B - There's That "Thing" Again: Read two books with the same main "object" on the covers. The cover should be all inanimate - no people or animals on the cover, not even their shadows. For the purpose of this task, I'm classifying vampires and other varied undeads as living. Plants, trees, flowers etc are acceptable.
What works:
Required: Name the main object that appears on both books
Option C - Aargh My Eyes!: Read two books with loud, neon-ish colors on the cover. Anything garish is welcome here!
What works:
Option D - No-Nonsense: Read two books with minimal artwork and plain, unobtrusive titles on a solid colored cover.
What works:
Option E - Yeah, I Would Totally Buy That: Read two books with covers you consider beautiful. This one is based on your opinion - hot guys are perfectly ok. :D
Required:Mention the chosen option. Since this is a cover hunt, please post the link to the covers.
Have a great challenge!
