As of right now, I'm still working on:
The Great Book of Amber (which will probably continue through the summer). I also plan to read:
Catching Fire &
The Gone-Away WorldThen maybe:
The Iron Daughter (after) Winter's Passage and/or
Shadow Chase, although, I have a few other titles in mind, so we'll see.
I'd like to fit
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao in there somewhere, if I can.
In theory:Torch of Freedom, Mission of Honor, and A Rising Thunder by David Weber. I'm hoping my "finish them already" trend from last month holds out so I can be done with Ship of Destiny by Robin Hobb and Machiavelli's The Art of War.
Also, possibly Moloka'i for my meets-IRL book club. It's about a leper colony and I can't decide if it's too depressing for me. Has anyone read it and can comment?
I love the Amber books! :)
I'm about to start This Is Where I Leave You for my offline book club, and have also been reading the essays in The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2012 in bits and pieces. When I finish the book club read I'm probably going to get back to spec fic and read Restoration, third book in the Rai-Kirah trilogy.

I just started
and I am loving it. I think I got this title after someone here mentioned it. Whoever this was has my thanks.
I'm currently reading The Sandman, Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes. Really cool! I love Neil Gaiman. I've been in a big supernatural kick lately well- actually- watching Supernatural the TV show, and this fits perfectly. I'm also continuing the Southern Vampire Mysteries with Dead and Gone on audio. Lastly I'm finally reading Caliban's War.
I am still reading West's Battle. Enjoying it.When I finish with this I think it will be some good old fashioned cold war espionage, maybe some Le Carre. Been watching The Americans and really enjoying spy stuff during the Cold War.
I finished A Rising Thunder and have The Gathering Storm up next. I hope to read Revelation this month, and then it will probably be time for me to buy and read the next Honorverse book.
I started reading Revelation last night and I'm about a third of the way through at the moment. I'm planning on hitting the last in the series before moving on to something else.

I've been watching The Americans too- it's really good!
I finished The Sandman, Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes and really enjoyed it. There were some things I missed because I haven't read much DC, but I think I'll still continue the series.
Now I'm reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
The first Sandman is the weakest - if you liked it, you'll definitely like the rest of the series! Heads-up that when you get to The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones do NOT read the introduction. It contains a major spoiler. I almost threw the book at the wall when I read it, and I've always been mad that I never got to read it not knowing what was coming.
I blew through This Is Where I Leave You for my offline book club yesterday afternoon while my son was sleeping and really enjoyed it. Picked up Restoration last night.

I was actually thinking about that when I started reading this first one and decided to avoid the introductions & afterwards all together since I couldn't remember which one you had warned about, haha. I can definitely see future ones being better since not a whole lot happened in this one other than him trying to get his stuff back.

An audio book recently did that to me by putting an introduction written for a much later book in the series (Parker) in an earlier edition & it contained a lot of series spoilers, so I share your frustration. Thanks for the heads up.
:-(
Currently reading Joan Slonczewski's A Door Into Ocean, a book that grabs you with both hands and pulls you underwater, demanding that you READ!Slonczewski is the guest author at Wiscon in May so I'm familiarizing myself with her before I attend.
I'm about 90% done with A Woman of the Iron People. So far pretty good, and I can see potential for a prequel to show how earth got so messed up.
I am also reading Revelation on my nook, andat home enjoying Shards of Honour, which is good, and Roadside Picnic, which is enjoyably thought provoking!
I meant to read
, but, I wound up reading
. I liked it much better than her first novel. Then I started:
. Enjoying it alot so far. I have
here, so hopefully I'll get to it before the end of the month.
I'm currently working on Shadow of Freedom. I know its ahead of this group's read, but I'm a big Honorverse nut and bought my copy last weekend and didn't want to wait lol.
I finished A Rising Thunder and am now immersed in The Gathering Storm. (a weather theme?)
Next up is Revelation (so I don't get too far from the first book in that series) and then I'll read my first dead tree version of an Honorverse book (all the rest I got as ebooks)--Shadow of Freedom.

I just started Shift Omnibus Edition last night. It's just as good as Wool Omnibus so far. I love prequels! It's so much fun to read when you know where the book is headed but don't really know how it's going to get there.
Just finished Revelation. Its a different focus than the first book and had a slightly rocky start, but I ended up liking this just as much as the first.Starting on Restoration now.
Finished Michelle West's latest Battle, which was excellent, as usual. My only complaint is that everyone seems to know whats going on except Jewel and nobody is telling her.As for my next book....I don't know...I am having a hard time to decide. arrg too many books
Pickle wrote: "reading The Claw of the Conciliator and will probably read The Ragged Astronauts"Love that you're reading "Claw...." I've got it up next also, as I finished The Shadow of the Torturer right before it was chosen as the May BOTM. I've read the series 3 times (?) before. I find you can't stop after just one.
Kathi wrote: "Nick wrote: " I find you can't stop after just one. Oh yes, you can... and I did. :-)"
Ah yes, some folks do have that reaction. It's a love-it or hate-it series.
I just finished Graceling. One of the best YA fantasies I've read in a while. I'm putting a hold on the sequel at the library, but in the meantime since I'm still in a YA kind of mood I'm going to read The Fault in Our Stars which has been sitting on my bed table for a while now.
I just finished listening to Farmer in the Sky by Robert A. Heinlein. It's hard to believe how well it has stood the test of time. Great YA book, better as an audio book.
I just finished Joe Haldeman's Marsbound, Starbound; because I saw that the third is out in stores. They are really good, I tore through them both in a couple of days.
Been busy and havent had time to come here an check out the postsI finally decided on a book after a couple of false starts. Read Reaper Man
Pretty good, had me laughing out loud on the subway.
Started on my summer read. Tales of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. First up
Gardens of the Moon
So far, I am impressed. Its really really good.
Currently reading At the Mouth of the River of Bees: Stories, I'm rather pleasantly surprised at how good some of the stories are.
