Esti (whiskeyinyrshoes) | 2 comments A request from a friend who's trying to locate a childhood favorite. My librarian skills and google-fu are failing me on this one. Thanks for your help!

Judging by my friend's age, he would've been reading the book in the late 70s or early 80s, so it's several decades old.

"As I recall it, it was large, maybe about the size of a "Where's Waldo?" book. They were large, two page spreads, and they were incredibly detailed, with all sorts of things going on all over the page. Each spread was a different era -- Egypt, with pyramids being built and boats on the Nile, or Rome, with a legion building a road and a temple. Or colonial America, with a roadside inn and detailed wagons and farms.

The main character was an orange-haired caveman with a beard and (I think) a dog in each scene, and his clothes changed from scene to scene to be era-appropriate. I can not for the life of me think of what it was called.

I think there must have been some text as well, but I don't remember how it was incorporated."

Thanks again!

Cheryl (cherylllr) Seems to me this has been requested in this group before.... (presumably several months ago, or so, and by someone else...) I've not time right now, but there is search window on the left side of the page, could type in Waldo or Egypt...

Esti (whiskeyinyrshoes) | 2 comments I did look through the archives, but the books mentioned are all either too recent or don't really match up... would love to know if I missed something, though!

Cheryl (cherylllr) http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4... is one of the results for just searching 'waldo' - that's as far as I've gotten right now though.

Esti, given that you were looking for a friend, are you still pursuing this query?

Laina (lshockley) | 196 comments The group solved a similar request not too long ago and this was the result:

Usborne the Great World Search
and
The Great World Tour by the same author.

Perhaps this is your book too?
