The Fault in Our Stars question

The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is great! It does have some mature content in it, but if you're okay with that, I would definitely give it a try!

The future of us by jay Asher is pretty good.

Anything by John Green

Sorry to be a Nerdfighter here, but I loved Paper Towns by John Green.

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli and Between the Dhades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys are all good books.

this one is a litlle weird ,but marina by carlos ruiz zafon and maybe eleanor & prak by rainbow rowell.

The Perks Of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky: It's the best book I've read in this genre

The Body - Stephen King: It's a short novella, only 70 something pages long but in those short pages it deals so perfectly with coming of age while suffering depression

Before I Die - Jenny Downham: It's similar to TFIOS in the term that it deals with a young girl suffering cancer however the writing is far more beautiful, mature and much more developed than John Green has ever been able to achieve.

Boys Don't Cry - Malorie Blackman: This is coming of age story that deals with the controversy of being a young parent and how that matures you, it's told by a the point of a single father which only adds to the controversy and just makes it an amazing read

It's Kind Of a Funny Story - Ned Vizzini: Again told from the point of a young man dealing with depression this coming of age story, yes tragic at it's heart, deals with the funny side of growing up and dealing with the usual things that get a teenager down, it's simply fantastic.

Other Novels to deal with these themes are: You Against Me - Jenny Downham, Little Women - Louisa May Alcott, The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold. However from what you've described these seem much less like the type of thing you would enjoy. Other Titles popular in this genre are: Catcher in The Rye - JD Salinger, Eleanor And Park - Rainbow Rowell. However I found these books far less impressive than the others but I know that Eleanor and Park is very popular among John Green readers and Catcher in the Rye is popular with, well, everyone

jay asher is good, anything by him. stargirl was good, anything by john green, ned vizzini the other normals and chill out. um, the age of miracles was ok, perks of being a wallflower rocked , catcher in the rye iv heard is good, um that's all i can think of now.

Before I Die is good. also 13 Reasons Why and Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns....All Good.....I hope you've read the fault in our stars.

If I Stay by Gayle Forman that is a sad, thoughtful book

Try The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, other John Green books, It's Kind of a Funny Sotry by Ned Vizzini (and his other books), Laurie Halse Anderson books, 13 Reason Why, The Future of Us.
Last one, but you won't believe that it almost made me cry: Carrie by Stephen King.

I'm going to echo a few others here, but 13 reasons why by Jay Asher and Speak by Laurie Anderson

It's a funny kind of story is brilliant - I'm guessing you've read Catcher in the Rye already? Because that's another wonderful one!

The Giver is one about coming of age and a dystopian society. I did not care for it much but I think thats because it was forced on me. You may like it though.

Perks of being a wallflower deals with deep, dark stuff like FIOS. Very different voice but great writing like John Green's. And the movie (perks) was pretty good.

A geek was a term for a carnival performer who bit the heads off of chickens.

I haven't any of John Greens books (But when I do...:) But I KNOW you'll like The Perks of Being a Wallflower By Stephen Chbosky. It's SOOOOOOOOO Good!! :)

I haven't read it yet, but I hear Please Ignore Vera Dietz is a good, depressing book.
