Question Of The Day
I agree with Manuela, I failed last time with only completing 2 but this time round I just finished all of them, I'm willing to give it ago but if it doesn't work, go back to the old way.
i agree. if we did do it then try it out but if it doesnt work then go back to the way it originally was
Thank you ladies for your feedback. And looking like we'll be trying something a little different for the spring. :)
New question: How in the hell is everybody doing lately?Seems like I'm only hearing from folks in shoots and spurts at times around here. So figured I'd ask everybody in general. How everybody is doing? Hopefully everyone is doing well, given all this crazy weather and what not. Hope everyone is safe and sound. And in general having a good couple of weeks.
Ugh, I'm waiting for summer. Spring is always such a unpredictable time weather wise as well here too. And sorry that you are tired there as well sis. Hopefully can get in a bit of a rest sometime soon.
nah just couldnt sleep tbh. LOL i wanted sleep so badly too -dies-. same thing happened to my mom the night before last rofl

All of a sudden, I'm feeling much better, mentally anyways. It's 42°!!! You KNOW how happy I am to see the temp above freezing, but 10° above freezing? Wow! It's time for a party I think! Until the snow hits again in a couple days anyway.
Glad to hear it Angie. We are still rocking the freezing weather here like nobody's business. Kiddies have had more than their fair share of calamity days as well.
We just had a week of temperatures in the high 40 degree C (somewhere arond 102 degree F). Today it is mild so I am really enjoying it. I am busy doing the magazine for our little local German Club here in Adelaide. fb and GRs is not helping. lol. I am fine though, thanks for asking.
Wow, heat, what is that like? O_O Been so long since it's been hot here. But that does sound cool on the magazine front for sure.
The procrastination is cool as I am spending my internet time with you guys. Instead of research... lol
You would totally think I'd be used to it by now. Which I usually am. But then when there is no cold water in the kitchen. Where our faucet is already possessed by hell fire when the hot water is on by itself....yea it leaves much to be desired for sure on the frozen pipe front.
dang that sucks o_o. i didnt even think of that since its not very often that we have to wrap our pipes or run a little water at night

Amaya wrote: "dang that sucks o_o. i didnt even think of that since its not very often that we have to wrap our pipes or run a little water at night"We usually let some of the water run in the upstairs bathroom a bit. But dude even with that running was not enough for downstairs too.

I would think you would only need to run the water downstairs, since from the first floor up, the pipes should be in the interior walls, staying warm. You'd get better results just running a downstairs faucet, from the way it works in my brain. I could be completely wrong, I expect that pretty often. I keep wanting to put insulation around all the pipes in the crawl space, but since I don't do confined spaces or bugs, someone else will have to take care of that for me. Plus I think the pipes that are under about half the house are inaccessible, but I wouldn't know for sure since I'm totally not getting under there to find out!! Ill just keep running the water every once in a while.
In Germany to prevent frozen pipes you put the heating in all the rooms at least at 1 unit (don't turn it off totally). Most of the piping is underground and goes straight into the homes, so it is only on really cold days and in rooms/flats where the heat is off that the pipes freeze. After getting home from the local Community radio tonight I will get stuck into the magazine. I stupidly left my dongle (USB stick) at work so now I have to use an older file I have on my Laptop. I will get around it, it just delays things a bit.
I am stressing more out about the cleaning of my place. I am lazy by birth and hubby is no help either, we have let it slide last year and I really need to do some serious cleaning here. I have been reading last year but in April my mom is coming for a visit and till then this place has to sparkle.
Interesting. Honestly though, I think we need a whole re-do on the insulation in our house period. Hasn't really been fixed up that well since we moved in some 21 years ago. And other than caulking a few holes here and there in the house and putting up plastic on the windows and a wooden board over the downstairs bathroom window, yea not much else has been done for keeping things "heated".Yea, you'll work it out on the magazine front. What is the magazine over if I may ask? Like local happenings and such?
Sounds like a job for Merry Maid, or a no special German "cookies" for the hubs til he helps ya out there.
Hahaha it is about our club. Certain members write what happened over the last three months. I edit and translate for our not English speaking members. There is an event preview for the upcoming three months so that people are aware of the functions and come to the club to participate.
Oooh fun, gotcha. And side note glad you translated dongle. Given the reads we read I was sooo thinking that meant something else, LOL.
I'm trying not to freeze. It's very cold here in Louisiana, and snowing just a bit north of me. All it's doing where I am is raining, and I think it was spitting a little bit of sleet earlier too. Keeping an eye on the radar, since I have multiple overpasses and a bridge between me and home.
I'm right smack in the middle.Rain seems to have cleared out, so here's hoping it doesn't get cold enough to start icing up until after I'm home!
oooh no wonder. im in the southern part of it. idk if it did or not but it was suppose to snow up in the most northern part according to the news
My cousins in Ruston and Shreveport have snow. Last year they had ice when we had snow, so I guess it's kind of fair...
Oh my gosh that's not fair sis, there are so many I love. Reese's Chico sticks, Sugar Daddies and babies, Mike and Ike's and Hot Tamales, Peanut M&M's, Cherry Twizzlers, the melt away mints like the cream ones, Carmellos, Hershey's with almonds and cookies and crème pieces, etc. etc. etc.

new question: Ah, I don't know. Last SSB challenge I had read all 5 books within the first three weeks, this running SSB challenge I seem to struggle a bit. Having only half a month left and still two books to go. And so much other stuff on my plate.
I would say we can try but if it doesn't work, we'll have to revert to the old.
