Both library copies are checked out, so I'll have to wait till one comes back. In the meantime, I can finish reading the other books I'm committed to, one of which I've been waiting for the final version for several months. I got to read it in rough draft and first revision stage and loved it so much.

It's only $2.99 for the ebook... Book two is done and contracted, but I don't know if it has a release date yet. I've read it too and it expands the mythological world in ways I wasn't expecting.

Yes I am missus. Sure I've still got some of the erotica books back logged as they are all over my files to be downloaded at some point. But whatever I can get into physical format it's definitely bumped up to the head of my read list.

Heck come to think of it, most days I think I'm the only one reading stuff on my actual list at times. Cause for the most part I try and read what I have first hand access to. From the library at least, then from Amazon etc.

I hear ya. Doing so much stuff at times for my folks my reading time is limited to spare moments in between them going out shopping, early mornings, or when they are napping. So that is yet another reason I dig paper/hard back books. Can hold em, cart em anywhere, and more times than not they are the books I've been wanting to read that have finally became available from my library.

I still have other books to read. But the majority of them are in ebook format. Which is land locked to my lap top for now. And as I can't easily cart those with me for the time being, they are back burnered somewhat. But even a few of those I've actually read and gotten out the way. Majority of them are from Ellorascave actually.

Oh I still collect freebies from amazon. Latest count on my kindle for pc is over 4000+. I think now I have to become at least 90something to read them all.

Mhmm, there are still some occasional freebies I get. But I've started smacking my own hands til I started reading what I actually had on my own list. So rather they suck or they don't, I have been learning to curb and leash this cover hoitis within myself(adding any and everything with a great cover), and just buckle down and read what I have. Some days it's hard to keep to it. But at the same time I'm like these are the books I've wanted to read forever. So why am I ducking them in the first place?

You are ducking them because you are not in the mood for them. Sometimes the covers are so deceiving. I do read the synopsis to see whether I want to read a book or not. The covers just don't cut it anymore since it is mainly a really nice shaped male body, with or without a face or a gorgeous couple in an extremely sexy pose or some very artful covers with either butterflies or something similar on it. ;)

Could partially be it. But truly you should see my folders. I've got barely minimal organization in there. Where most are so anal about organizing stuff I'm not anal enough(pun intended even, ;) )where that is concerned. And for sure it's definitely why I haven't touched them yet. Especially as I'm not sure which ones are long and which are short in there. So it's easier to get through the ebooks that are thrown around all willy-nilly right now. Even ticking them off on another set of lists(which I'm soooo not even a list person, so that is saying something).

Thank you for saying that Rachel. Cause I swear my mom makes me feel like I'm the only person that doesn't like making out lists or something at times. So yea, I know it's bad when *I* have to even make one out to begin with.

Manuela- I will say another thing about reading all the books on my TBR. The only times I haven't read something that doesn't appear to be on my TBR list is when it's freebies I just found(and still not anal enough to remember to add them on here the same day I've gotten them), when doing particular challenges and need a certain book that even *I* haven't heard of just yet(so naturally wouldn't be on the TBR), and lastly when I just filled out a library questionnaire on some possible suggestions on what else I could try in my likes that I haven't tried before, and then they suddenly put them on my holds list. In the case of these 3 beauties-

So I'm on and off the list. And mostly off so I can chuck freebies that aren't working and give me more space in my files(and that has just been in the last year I've started that).

Ok, I am not really sure now what the tbr pile is. I thought all the time the want to read shelf is it but obvisiously people build their own piles. Anyway, I really want to read all the books I have, so I guess I have a really, really BIG tbr pile. :P

I have to wonder that myself at times with some people's tbr lists. Cause I know for myself I keep it basic, what I read, want to read/will get to eventually, some books I've tried that just haven't worked out, and the usual currently reading. But yea, I've come across the "this-made-me-puke", "slightly-funny-hero-terrible-heroine", "heroine-needs-to-die-already" type of threads too on some peeps list.

So I'm at the point of, if you see a book you think I might like. Just send me the link to it or give me the name. Cause I doubt I can find it on your list if you have tags like that going on, lol.

I do not understand the need for tbr books. Sometimes a book might catch your imagination at that particular time in your life and then something else happens and you move on or something else takes your fancy. I do not think I have one book on a tbr file. I just read what i want when I want if you have a tbr file I think that it puts you under pressure to read. I have two books on Kindle which I bought last year and I know that it is going to a while for me to read them!

Good point Veronica. I know most others I talked to say they use it to list all the books they are interested in, even if they don't get to them right away. So they don't forget a title. Sometimes I do that too but then cut back and be realistic in regards to what I have access to or not. And then from there I pick and choose.

That's true. That's why I don't worry about the goodread's reading challenge like before. I still put an amount of books that I would like to read for the year but don't make it an important thing to do otherwise you lose a lot of enjoyment out of reading whatever you're reading over time. One of my friends quit doing the reading challenge because of that. Ironically since she was the one who got me into the reading challenge for good reads haha

Too true ladies. And I think they should allow more flexibility in the reading challenge anyway. Like in the mini one for your group sis. Yes we have 12 books to do. But there is no reminders that you are lagging so far behind, that the darn thing is questioning you about why you even joined the challenge in the first place. I don't like that kind of watch clock on my back.

I have a massive TBR shelf here on Goodreads. I run across stuff that sounds interesting, but I'm not in the mood for it right then so it goes on the shelf. When I want something new I browse the shelf until I find something that strikes my fancy and I hunt it down.

I have a to-read list (which is my TBR pile, at least the virtual one) and I use the SSB challenge to get to the books on the bottom of the pile. The reading challenge here on GRs is not too bad as I did thrice the number of books I wanted to read last year. But I am not really doing it for the challenge but I love to read.

The Bronze Horseman changed my life. I can't believe I'd never found it before, since it's set in Russia and that's my favorite thing ever. I devoured the whole trilogy, and was in awe of the author's way with words. Reading those books challenged me as a writer to amp up my prose and change the way I look at words.

New Question: How does everyone feel about tweaking the Secret Book Santa challenge to include choosing from 10 books and reading 7, since the current way seems to go much more quickly for some of us at times. And 7 books can stretch out a little better over the 3 month time span per season.
