Shari-amor | 5275 comments Queen of the Damned was definitely one of the worst book to movies conversion. That movie was horrible but I did love that Aaliyah played Akasha. She did good, other than that. Horrible!

message 2202: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Never read Queen, so I wasn't quite missing much from the movie in that one. And like you Shari, enjoyed the Akasha parts.

And yes, I was just mentioning last night how bad I found Twilight part 2. I have never seen decapitation done so poorly. And I never want to see a CGI or aged progressed computer generated child like that AGAIN! O_O

message 2203: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments Pretty much all the Three Musketeers movies that have seen have NEVER done the book justice. That book is classic and awesomely action packed. It seems like it would be such a good movie but for some reason they just can't pull it off. I'm not sure if it is the worst but it is definitely the most disappointing IMO.

I agree with ya'll about the Twilight having a bad book to screen transition. Oh and I have read Queen of the Damned and the movie was a damn shame compared to the book plus they skipped my favorite book in that series when they went strait to Queen. Which irked me a little bit.

message 2204: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Have you seen The Man in the Iron Mask Jessica? It wasn't predominantly about the 3 musketeers or how I took it. But they played a role in things and it was a really good portrayal to me. Even Dicaprio playing the good and bad twins of the time in that story. One of my faves. Not sure if it was ever a book though.

message 2205: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments Yeah. The Man in the Iron Mask was good. But it is it's own book. So to me that doesn't really count. I like both that book and the movie. It's just The Three Musketeers that they seem to struggle with.

message 2206: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ahh, well maybe if the peeps that worked on that movie ever get into the mindset of working on the Musketeers as an individual movie. Then it might amount to something.

message 2207: by Nette (last edited Jan 13, 2014 04:00AM) (new)

Nette | 202 comments I was not too thrilled with the book to movie version of the Host by Stephanie Meyers. The description of how a light had to be held under the host bodies eyes was not kept in the movie version. In the movie, a completely noticeable ring was visible in the eyes of the Host body. That took so much away from the mystery of telling the difference between a human and the host body. The purpose of the movie was to have a struggle of survival of human and them not being able to immediately tell who was a Host versus human. The obvious "ring" took away the need of a light being placed under the eye all to gether!
So much detail of the book was left out about the life in the caves between Wandra and the community that lived there too. And the cliff hanger is still killing me about whether or not there will be a sequel.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Question: Are you looking forward to the Super Bowl!? For those that dont watch American Football, is there another major sport event you enjoy!?

message 2209: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments I have never been someone for sports. I don't really understand the appeal. That being said. I do like watching sports with people who do care about them. Mostly because I like watching them get all worked up about the game.

message 2210: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments As do I. I love seeing people get amped up for these type of big sporting events. Watching them getting hyped, gets me hyped. And of course the food, I do it for the food when they have parties or get togethers :-)

message 2211: by [deleted user] (new)

I am a huge football fan, but unless my team is in the Super Bowl, I usually don't get that hyped up about the game. But this year, could have some potential as there are some good teams that could prossibly make it more interesting. But for the non fans it's a good time going to parties. It's all about the commericals anyway. :)

message 2212: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments i'm not actually a fan of football lol so i never watch it. if others are watching then i'll watch but thats about it.

message 2213: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Soooo not a sport fan other than the occasional figure skating, soccer, or maybe even some opening/closing stuff at the Olympics. Beyond that, I'm with Shari, those freaking tail gating parties I've heard about sound awesome. So I would for sure be in for stuffing my face.

message 2214: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments LMAO we can go for the food then guys! :I

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question- Which, if any award shows have you caught so far this month? And have any of your favorite celebs won?

message 2221: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments i only saw a tiny bit of the red carpet

message 2222: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments I love watching award shows but since we have gotten rid of regular tv I haven't been able to watch any of them. I usually just catch the highlights on the internet after it has aired.

message 2223: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haven't caught any award shows in ages. Well since the one where Adam Lambert kissed somebody. Although I was tempted to see the critic's choice awards. But still missed em to see Arrow on the ol' dvr.

New Question-What is the best thing you love about your siblings/relatives?

message 2224: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I love that my sisters and aunt are all so damn full of life. They let nothing and no one hold them back from what they want in life. I know it'll never be a dull moment around them

message 2225: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments LOL that i don't have to talk to them that many times a year -dies-

message 2226: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I will second that on extended family sis.

I would have to say that the best thing for mine is for some they live too far away to visit that often, others too busy with work to visit and other dramas, and in most cases they ask me for money less times than they do my folks, lol.

message 2227: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments -coughs- preach it sister

message 2228: by Bożena (new)

Bożena (bozi) | 570 comments I wish I could live alone in my own flat. I love my family but they're so annoying. I need to study and I can't 'cause they are shouting still, I have a room with 3 doors so everybody is still passing by and I can't focus. Btw they are nosy so you know.

message 2229: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question:

Other than movies, what form of mass media would you like to see some of your favorite books to take? I.e. magazines, video games, maybe even through art.

Can you imagine the DH series in video game form? I might get into trouble, I'd steal all of the characters I liked...lol And Vane would be at the top of my list of AWOL players!!!

message 2231: by Bożena (new)

Bożena (bozi) | 570 comments I don't play video games, but If there was a DH game, I would be playing it *.*

message 2232: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I'd love to see Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal as a broadway show. It would be so funny seeing it all played out.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Great answers ladies. Though I loves me video games. I would totally love to see the DH world as a ballet or as a Cirque de Soleli sorta show too. Would be vastly creative.

Haha from what I hear of Louisiana you guys are part of the lucky south on the snow and ice front. Don't get me wrong, I love both to make things festive during the winter. But yea, cracking knee caps or butts is just not good.

LOL... I've just realized this was posted here! For some reason I'm not getting all of my updates forwarded to me.
Anywho, Louisiana is NOT loving the snow or cold weather...lol Just a little ice on the bridges has cause multi-car pile ups! Louisianians do not know how to drive on ice...lol
The schools and city government have shut down for the last couple of days, too.

Wow. That almost sounds like down in Georgia I think it was. Where they had the multi car situation too. And I think two of the schools closed with the kids staying over night for 2 nights in there. As the whole town more or less was totally unprepared for winter knocking at their door. Craziness for sure.

Anyone think that the Super Bowl would have been more interesting if we had Dark Hunter playing on the field? I'd sure be a spectator...lol No commercial breaks needed!
