Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments I have not really gone to get any smoothies. Not a huge fan, but i do like them. I will get one occasionally if i am someplace they have them. This time of year is my treat of Pumpkin Spice Latte. Usually one or two for fall, then a gingerbread latte around Christmas.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I've got mail! Sweeet!

message 1804: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Valerie, I'm so glad you mentioned the Pumpkin Spice Latte thing. What exactly does that taste like? I keep imagining really weird pumpkin flavor in black coffee. So no doubt waaaaaay off or something.

message 1805: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments The pumpkin spice smoothie from TP was good if made properly. It has to be perfect otherwise the pumpkin can be overwhelming

Melissa Shari-amor wrote: "lol!! I'll take a fifth of tequila. Yum!

New Question: Do you have a favorite smoothie place? Whats your favorite smoothie!?"

My favorite smoothie is one I make myself!! I like to get a bag of frozen mixed fruit and go crazy!

message 1807: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments i've only ever had them from smoothie king but i prefer to make my own

message 1808: by Bożena (last edited Oct 02, 2013 01:02AM) (new)

Bożena (bozi) | 570 comments lol I haven't had smoothie yet. Or maybe once, my sister mixed frozen strawberries in blender and added some ingredients, it was awesome

It is hard to describe. I am not much of a coffee drinker (unless its flavored, i dump LOTS of sugar in it..i am a tea person). It is somwwhat sweet. Not too pumpkin-y & the spice off-sets it nicely. VERY good and addicting to me. I guess it may be kinda like pumpkin pie?? maybe??

message 1810: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Huh, I like plenty of syrups and sugar in my coffee as well if I am to drink one. But I guess my not liking pumpkin pie, won't really endear me to that pumpkin spice flavor. However if there was one that had some spices from sweet potato pie, I might be swayed a bit.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Question: If you could be a vampire, shapeshifter, or witch/magically inclined, which would you be and why!?

message 1812: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I went with witch last time, cause I love magical abilities as much as the next. But in all honesty I would have to always go for shapeshifter. Because I just love the duality of nature and the strength and beauty of a new form. Kind of like my favorite story, Jekyll and Hyde. Hopefully minus some of the evil mischief of Hyde that is.

message 1813: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments shapesifter easily. The nature, beauty, strength and senses of the other form would be just awesome. The mentality could help in everyday crap you have to deal with, the ability to get away and truly be free would be gerat. I mean, i see some potential downsides too, but take the good with bad.

message 1814: by Bożena (new)

Bożena (bozi) | 570 comments hmm I think I could be a shapeshifter. To feel real freedom, energy of nature and forget about the entire world

message 1815: by [deleted user] (new)

I like the idea of being a shifter, but I am going to go with being magically inclined. I don't know if this falls into that category, but I would love to have the power to move things or have the ability to knows things before they happened. Sounds like the force...maybe I just want to be a Jedi Knight! :)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments If the choices are only those three, I'll go were. Otherwise I prefer my half god status I always stated in some other thread. Maybe as a wolf or a dog I finally get someone to scratch my back. Usually I am the scratcher in the family... :(

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: What is your favorite fight scene from any books you have read so far? And what led up to the fight? Over a woman? Land? Bad guys versus good? Speak on it.

message 1818: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments When Darling went mad and returned to his palace and killed everyone and piled them all into a heap.
TEMPORARY MADNESS DUE TO GIRLFRIEND TROUBLE (oh well, she was leader of a group that captured him and was unaware that some of her fellow fighters made a sport out of torturing him while she was looking everywhere else for him. One can go mental after that, I concur.)

message 1819: by Bożena (new)

Bożena (bozi) | 570 comments yeah Manuela, I love that scene too!

message 1820: by Manuela (last edited Oct 06, 2013 04:33AM) (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Hi Bozena, he is my absolute fav in the Kenyonverse. I read Caillens book first (stumbled over it, just like I did with Vanes book) and eventually got to read his story. It was such an emotional roller coaster ride. I don't like his girlfriend/wife, but then I don't have to live with her. And if he loves her, good for them that they sorted their shit out. ;)

message 1821: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Well recently I've been reading the Scarecrow series by Matthew Reilly. Gena "Mother" Newman is a 6'2, 200 pound muscled marine with a shaved head that is tough as hell and kicks serious ass. They dont call her Mother because she has any maternal traits, it's actually short for Motherfucker. I LOVE her!!! And shes not even the main character. I actually love all her fight scenes. They are so fun and unbelievable. She is the Queen of near death experiences. In the first book, her team has to battle british and french elite soldiers in Antarctica. A few of the soldiers get eaten by killer whales but oh no not Mother, she wasnt going out like that. That mf took her leg but she kept going and managed to shoot it up and tossed a grenade in its mouth when it came to finish her off. She got into it with a tiger shark in the third book. When it went for the same leg that the killer whale already took, this time she had a titanium leg implant that sucker couldnt bite through. She made tuna out of that thing. I don't think any marine life animals like her. lol

message 1822: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Nice selections ladies. I still have to say most epic for me for the time being was when Apollymi took out her whole family too once Ash was killed by Apollo. And she carried his body too. I mean I was sobbing for her the whole time reading that. Totally broke my heart.

mmmm...I think it would have to be my husbands made from scratch cheese cake. Nothing compares and that bastard will only bake it for me once a year because he hates to bake. lol

message 1824: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Cheesecakeee. Loves the stuff. Maybe have to come up with a deal with the hubs somehow if you want to get the goods. ;)

New Question- What do you think Victoria's secret is?

message 1825: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Underwear that looks only good on skinny models and is not affordable for my meagre income?
Didn't Lady Victoria have a secret diary about all the men she had affairs with?
Well, it is no secret that drivers in Victoria, Australia are known for being the worst on the planet. The big secret though is that it is actually the South Australians (neighbours, in verbal fights with the Victorians all the time), that are the worst drivers. And I should know, I live in South Australia. LOL

message 1826: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments lol the underwear may be for skinny models but the bras are for big breasted women.

Eh it was originally suppose to be a place men could go and not feel embarrassed about buying lingerie for their women

message 1827: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments omg is that true shari? idk about other victoria secret shops but the closest one to me is covered in pink and drenched in perfume LOL. its a nice store but tbh its just w/e to me. quite a few ppl in the fam refuse to buy from any other place than VS o_o.

message 1828: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments frederick's of hollywood is cool but it closed down over here

message 1829: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha who knew the things one could learn about the ol' Victoria Secret. But I do concur with ya on that one Shari. They definitely are meant for the slimmer fitting models with the big boobs. "Every dude's dream woman". lol.

Yea Frederick's of Hollywood is great. But don't have that anywhere near us at all. Plenty of Lion's Den places and a VS in the mall.

message 1830: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments lion's den?

message 1831: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Sex toy store place. But most times in places like that they sell the lingerie type of stuff there too.

message 1832: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Lol true story. The founder was always embarrassed about going into department stores to get undergarments for his wife and thus Victoria's Secret. lol I think it wasn't until late 80s when they started to make the lingerie more burlesquey.

I've never been to a Fredericks. I buy a lot of underwear from VS and I'll treat myself to a bra or two if they have my size and there is a sale going on

message 1833: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Gives the founder props for wanting to be proactive in buying his wife something sexy. It's usually the mistress at times.

No worries, I've only seen Frederick's online and I think mentioned on tv shows.

Oh and you have mail again Shari.

message 1834: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments rofl go figure. ive only ever bought from fredericks a couple times. they had really nice and comfy stuff back when they were open. idk if theyre still the same or not tho.

message 1835: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Gives ya props sis. I'd love to find some nice bustiers or corsets some place. But here, they probably look at me like what's that? lol.

message 1836: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I've got mail.

When I first found out about that story I was like, really a man!? A man had to be the first to invest in this.

message 1837: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha, yea I think a lot of people were shocked it was a man too. Even I was a bit at first. But not really surprised now that I think about it. I mean, what DON'T men have their hands in from the past to present, so to speak.

message 1838: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I love bustiers! You have more variety and they're a lot more common. Not enough boobs for a corset unless I get an underbust corset

message 1839: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments In general, I'm just curious how I might look in one. I've seen them on other people and they look great. But never tried either.

message 1840: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments almost anyone can wear a bustier/corset according to one of my friends lol. but wait, did u think thats what i bought from fredericks of hollywood, sis?

message 1841: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh no, I meant to shop at Federick's. As the one I saw on Real Sex or I think another HBO show once, there was a bit more focus on the sex toy part of the store. So I was like, whoa look at you sis for being brave enough to go in there. Still personally boggles my mind just how helpful folks are in stores like that and yet can't find a damn soul in Wal-mart when you need them. >_<

message 1842: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments oooh. LOL omg ive never seen anything like that in there. just lingerie, pjs, underclothes, perfume and jewelry i think it is.

LMAO ikr.

message 1843: by Bożena (new)

Bożena (bozi) | 570 comments lol if I wore a corset I would look like a boy in a corset. Where r my humps.

message 1844: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments I would love to try a corset! Not sure how it would look though...hmm....

And as for Victoria Secret being for bigger busted women...I disagree. I have yet to find one that fits me becuase i am larger. Not that the undies would fit either....or that i would pay the nutsy prices.

message 1845: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (last edited Oct 08, 2013 11:33AM) (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh my gosh, I burst out laughing at what you said Bo, made my day.

I was thinking more in the double d range kind of Valerie. Although I have seen up to J's in Wal-mart before though too. My mom gets just my size bras and undies too. Have you tried them Valerie? As they are for larger ladies.

If you are used to having really bad cramps, then labor pains should not be a problem. I had really bad cramps, so I was afraid too, but the labor pains felt the same. Look at it like this, your cramps last a week, labor pains; hours. Now the good news, after I had my first child, my cramps lightened up a lot.... A whole lot.

Bad parent! LOL I have one: Due to work and Christmas shopping, Santa did not have anything under the tree, BUT, there was an email on my tablet addressed to my daughter ( her name) from Santa, explaining that he was caught in a really bad snow storm, but he was on his way. After our nap there were gifts under the tree. My daughter has heard the rumors, but she knows Santa is real because she has an email! She was more excited about the email than the gifts. Lol

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: What if type question: One day you discover that your wonderful one year old child is not your's, because of a mix up at the hospital. Would you want to exchange the child to correct the mistake? Or continue to raise the other child that you have?

What if you discovered that your child was switched with that of a rich family? Would that matter in regards in your decision-making or no?

Also what if the race/culture of the child was different? Would you consider keeping the child so they can learn more and appreciate your own culture better or give back the child all the faster because it is not of your own culture?

Speak on it.

Jennifer | 1747 comments Dhfan4life wrote: "New Question: What if type question: One day you discover that your wonderful one year old child is not your's, because of a mix up at the hospital. Would you want to exchange the child to correct ..."

it depends. if im able to get in contact with her/his biological parents then it would depend on what they and the child want. legally its up to them tho. as hard as that would be. but if i couldnt get in touch with the biological parents then i would continue raising the child as my own but also let them know what happened later on in life. i would wanna keep raising the child as my own tho lol x.x.

no, money wouldnt play a factor in it and it shouldnt. i would want the child to have more (in regards to money) but thats not what its about. it comes down to what the child wants and unfortunately the biological parents as well since legally they arent ur child.

it wouldnt make a difference to me tbh. if i knew the child was a diff race then i def know they werent mine biologically but adoption wise or not if they were a diff race/culture id teach them about their culture but that doesnt mean i would seclude them from mine (that would just be silly). i think its important for them to grow up with ur own culture bc theyre a part of u but i also think its important for them to learn about their own (that might just be bc of my own feelings on culture tho. ik to some ppl it doesnt really interest them, whether its their own culture or not). and when theyre older they can choose to lean toward whichever one they want more (if they dislike any of them that is).

message 1850: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well said sis.

I truly have to say when I came across this question online, my mind totally went to the show Switched at Birth that I've been watching and enjoying quite a bit. Because in that story, a rich Caucasian family and a single Hispanic single mother's daughters are switched. And it is not discovered til the "daughter" of the rich family has to do a genealogy/DNA project for school. So she swabs her parents' cheeks and her own and it comes back that they aren't a match and the story goes on from there.

I've also seen a movie where the rich family and the single mom kept lived next to each other. But didn't switch their kids after discovering the hospital mix up. Everyone was friends though and the kids went to the same school too.

So having religiously been watching this show from start to it's current break for the season. And even enjoying/being puzzled by certain decisions in the series and that movie. I, have to say that if *I* were the one to be in such a situation, without a shadow of a doubt, I would want my child back right away. As for the child that is not mine and my own child likely missing their other "family", I would be interested in maybe a open adoption sort of arrangement. Meaning that both of us would get our children back. But for bdays, holidays, sharing pictures, maybe even going to school events, would all be shared and open experiences between the families. But being the stickler that I am, I would have to put my foot down and want my child living with me after the switch is done. And feel the other child should be with their family as well. It's bad enough to know I missed some earlier parts of my child's life even if the children are still just 1 year old. I wouldn't want to miss more if the child was living away from me even more.

I'll be honest and say that if my child was switched with a family that is rich/living a little better than myself, I would really pause and consider how many opportunities my child would miss out on that the richer/better living family could provide them. Like a full ride to college maybe, or if they are into the arts or something that I couldn't possibly provide. But after that thought comes and goes through my head. I would still want my child back. Although maybe if the other family is open to the open adoption type of arrangement, then maybe they or even I could open accounts for the kids for their college fund or something.

To me the race or the culture difference wouldn't bother me with regards to having someone else's child. But it would concern me with regards to the family that has my child though. I want to believe that my hypothetical child wouldn't be harmed or anything like that do to it being 2013 and all that. But still regardless if the family is rich or not, I'd totally be concerned if that other family is mentally or physically abusing my child because he/she is black. That alone would have me sweating bullets and finding top lawyers and wanting to switch the kids back post haste.

But if it was not a situation of them disliking my child cause of their race. I still would want to give them their child back and get mine back as well. Because regardless of how someone else may feel they could raise the child that isn't of their own race/culture through teaching it to them. I still think that the child needs to know more than just being taught about their race/culture. That child is a wee bit more entitled to know about their family medical history than anything else. Because that history can truly make the difference between being treated for more serious things down the road or not. And that is very important to me.
